I love the cover of this and also loved the concept. It is a good book to teach kids how to adapt to change, such as adding a new family member. I also loved the illustrations of the pups. I thought the storyline needed to be simplified a bit because there were too many distractions. Overall, a good story!

This is a confection of a picture book about a dog who undergoes a big change in her life.

Daisy the English bulldog is the princess of her own castle. She eats, sleeps, and plays whenever she wants. But, one day, her castle is invaded by a Chiweenie named Lilly Rosa. Daisy is not pleased with this change, but meditates on the issue and decides that change is good.

The message is pretty heavy-handed, and I'm not a fan of the way the dogs are given such human characteristics. (The dog meditates? Really?) It's very obvious that the author intended for this to be a "message" book; there are even pages at the back that have tips for coping with change. They're not bad and some of the tips might be helpful in some cases, but when taking action is referred to as "sparkle", it's all a bit much. A book this twee is liable to give you cavities.

The writing is mediocre from a technical standpoint and not that consistent. The illustrations are okay; you can tell they're done by someone who specializes in pet portraits. I'm not really a fan of the layout of the book, though, with some of the words highlighted with a fancy, coloured font. It kind of disrupts the flow, and I didn't always think that the highlighted words needed to be highlighted.

Overall, this is just an okay book. It will probably have more of an audience in kids who like reading stories about dogs. As a book that tries to teach about embracing change, it seems just a little too simplistic in that regard.

I didn’t like this. The cover looked very cute but the art was honestly kind of scary the more you had to look at it. Plus there were some words in the book that were not filled out making it very difficult to read.

A beautifully illustrated story with a great message for siblings struggling with the arrival of a new family member. The illustrations are so real the dogs seem like they could run right off the page into your house. Very cute!

This is a cute book that could help children with changes in their own life; new baby in the family, etc. The illustrations were nice. I felt that the text somehow missed the mark. There were too many things going on; a castle to color, too much back story at the end, etc. I think it could have been streamlined a bit (outside of the text).

What drew me in at first was that beautiful cover. I was not disappointed at all with the glorious artwork. I could actually see each page being a picture on a child's wall.

We are introduced to Daisy the English bulldog. Loving her life in her kingdom. Showered with toys, sleep and fun. She is content and as happy as can be. That happiness evaporates with the presence of Lilly... The wannabe usurper to her throne. Daisy is so unhappy with the cute Lilly because she doesn't want to share, she doesn't want her in her Kingdom. All lilly wants to do is play but Daisy does not want to. Not until tug-o-war......

This is the turning point for Daisy. She is finally happy to have Lilly in her life.

I can see this book being a great resource for a parent with one child with another on the way. It will help the child to understand that they aren't being replaced but having a new friend to share, love and play with. If I didn't already have multiple kids, I would have had this book in my arsenal to help my child understand.

Beautifully written and easy to understand. I highly recommend it.

Daisy was content with her living situation until one day a new pup entered her life. Of course she was hesitant at first. Having to share her toys AND her special crown. After playing with Lilly, she realized she was happier now than she was alone. I really enjoyed this book, mainly because I’m a dog lover. Daisy and Lilly are such sweet characters and helps to teach the reader that adapting to new situations can be a good thing!

This was a cute book with adorable illustrations! I read it to my ten month old son. I thought it had a good lesson that sometimes people (or furry friends) come into your life unexpectedly and even though you don't think you want them there, it turns out to be the thing you needed in your life 💙

This is a lovely story of learning to deal with change and new situations.
The pictures are adorable too.

The true story in the back is really heartwarming, a lovely touch to add to the book.

I also think Daisy's tips in the back are brilliant!

A wonderful resource to help children cope with change, sharing and new situations.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book is adorable. The images are vivid and so cute! I wish the font of the text were easier to read as it is a bit of a difficult font for me. I love the message behind the story and the encouragement of offering comfort during times of change and unknown.
