[[Thank you Netgalley for give me a new experience letting me read this book about youngest streets protest around the United States history]]

I like that civil rights are seen as a fundamental part of American history, and I think there's still a stigma (if they come from the street.)

This compilation touches on topics about racial, gender discrimination. Exposing positive and negative icons in all protests. I am not American but he emphasized that with this book teaches how younger generations will learn to get their voice out and make it known in more fascist times where diversity is increasingly overshadowed

This is a really great overview of the history of protests in America. I thought I was well informed on the major protests but I learned about quite a few I hadn't heard of. I like the inclusion of pictures as well.

This book is great for teens that care about social justice and are looking to learn ways they can make a difference.

A nice overview with brief histories, etc. I wish there had been more "for further reading" type information along the way, especially on the lesser known events. Not as visual as I had hoped.

This was NOT what I was expecting for a graphic novel. This should have been under non-fiction.
Overall, a decent book. I pictures and color in the novel was great. The topic was a little dry, but it was well-written. I would image that a lot of high school libraries should have a copy of this book. The visuals and color will be appealing to the young adult audiences.

This test is a quick overview of pre-colonial protests until contemporary times. Naturally, it covers well-known protests such as the March on Washington and the Boston Tea Party, but it also includes lesser-known ones such as the Battle of Athens and the Miss America Protests. Should readers worry that it has a leftist slant, please note that it includes protests in support of hate groups as well. The most recent protest receiving the full treatment is the March for Our Lives, but the author alludes to the Hong Kong protests in the introduction.

Each chapter is brief and has accompanying artwork. I envision recommending this text to be used in segments in literature survey courses or American history classes. The title indicates that it is a visual history, which I found a bit misleading. While each protest has accompanying artwork, it may have a few images associated with the time period or photos, but the images lack much of an explanation. The captions are extremely brief and cursory for "A Visual History."
