This book series is a genealogist's dream! Each book can be read as a standalone, but I'm enjoying them in order.

I love dual timeline books and mysteries and this story (and series) is quite satisfying in both regards. This book might be my favorite so far! I'm really loving the dynamic between Jillian and her father!

I definitely recommend this book and the entire series. You'll fall in love like I did.

This is my first Olivia Newport book. Its book three in a series. I love mysteries! And Pinkertons! This book will inspire you to look at your own family tree.

Jillian has a mystery trunk that was abandoned in Union Station in 1909. Jillian does some research in the past into what happened to Lynn Bendeure, a woman who was traveling to Colorado before mysteriously disappearing.

This is the third book in the Tree of Life series by Olivia Newport. I have piles of books around me, but once I start one of these books, I want to put everything else to the side. Although this is in a series, it could be read as a stand alone. They all take place outside Denver in Canyon Mines, a fictional town.

Jillian is a genealogist who pairs up with her lawyer father, Nolan, to determine the origins of a steamer trunk that was left in Colorado over a hundred years ago. All belongings intact, but leaving a mystery behind on why it was never claimed. Jillian starts putting other work projects aside as she focuses on hunting down on the origins and its meaning.

What I really enjoy about the books in the series is that it appeals to all ages and I could recommend it to teens along and my mom. Genealogy appeals to the young and old, and throw in a mystery and you have me hooked!

When I Met You is a great conclusion to the archeological series by Olivia Newport. We have been hanging out with father and daughter and this book is a great one to sum things up, while still introducing new and exciting mysteries. Highly recommend reading the entire series, not just one or two of the books.

I was given a complimentary copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are solely my own.

This book was the third book in the Tree of Life series. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to read the first two books in the series, but hope to do so soon.

I loved this book. First, because I love books that contain a dual timeline as this one did. And second, the main characters are Nolan Duffy and his daughter Jillian and I grew quite fond of both of them. Ms. Newport has created characters that step off the page and pull the reader into their story and hold on to them until the last page is turned.

I would like to thank Net Galley for my e-copy of When I Meet You. I was under no to post a positive or negative review. All comments are strictly my own.

I would highly recommend this book for readers who like clean mysteries.

When I Meet You is the third book in the Tree of Life series by Olivia Newport. As with the first two books this one made my genealogist heart happy.

The genealogy series by Olivia Newport is my new favorite series!! The concept is very good, the characters almost feel like they are developing slowly, as in real life. When I Meet You touches on a few genres and I think will appeal to a large audience. I LOVED it.

Another story that should be a Hallmark mystery movie. Such well rounded characters, a daughter and father, genealogist and lawyer who loves to be a chef. There's part of their personal lives mixed in with the mystery to be solved from 1909. Very interesting story about a young lady who disappeared after a train ride to Denver, where she was going to sort out some fraud with her father's investments. Throw in some Pinkerton agents and villains and you've got a story to keep you well hooked all the way through. Excellent read, hard to put down. Makes you glad to come back to it each time, and miss it when you've finished it.
I received this book free from the publisher and NetGalley book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. #WhenIMeetYou #NetGalley

I have always love the stories of the Pinkerton Detectives and this book just adds a new dimension to them. This is a book I would read again.

Jillian and Nolan from Books 1 and 2 have teamed up again to solve mysteries of the past with clues from an old trunk. Jillian, a genealogist, and her dad, Nolan, an attorney, fit in well with their small town. This time, as Jillian searches through the past, Nolan prepares for a big event. I've enjoyed following the story of how the two complement each other, lending their strengths as they work simultaneously. I got a little lost in the story of the historical characters as Jillian researched their story, but enjoyed seeing it come together at the end. I loved the hint of a possible romance for the next in this series. The author's notes at the end were fun and inspirational, and I enjoyed the first chapter of the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. These thoughts are my own and given voluntarily.

Jillian Parisi-Duffy and her father Nolan Duffy are at it again in Canyon Mills, Colorado and this time their genealogy research involves them in a mystery that revolves around a trunk that was left unclaimed at a Denver, Colorado train station. As Jillian searches through letters found in the trunk, a story comes to light of Lynelle Bendeure's efforts as she traveled by herself across the United States to try to save her father's business. A young lady traveling by herself in 1909 was unheard of and the two couples who took interest in her may not have had her best interests at heart. Was Lynelle able to accomplish her goal and did the Pinkerton manager who corresponded with her help her in her attempts?

This is a time-slip novel so this mystery alternates with Jillian and Nolan's present day activities. I enjoyed learning about Nolan's fantastic cooking talents and his efforts to aid a community fundraiser and the clever use of a trunk in Jillian's own attic as a tool to link the two stories.

I love historical fiction so I was especially interested in learning more about Denver in 1909 but When I Meet You has so much more. Romance, adventure, and mystery are included and author Olivia Newport once again made me feel like I was right there with Jillian and Nolan. I appreciate this daughter/father team for their love and respect for each other and for their obvious faith in God. I look forward to their next adventure and I recommend this book and the other two books in the Tree of Life series.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

I have really enjoyed reading about Jillian and Nolan and the other residents of Canyon Mines. These wholesome mysteries are such a nice change. And Jillian makes me want to look into my own family tree! I’ll definitely be looking forward to more installments of the Tree of Life series.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

As I love working on my families genealogy trees, I knew that I wanted to read this book. While reading through this story, I felt inspired and engrossed from the start. I have yet to read the first 2 books in this series as this is a new author for me. I really enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to more stories by this author. #NetGalley#When I Met You

Nolan and Jillian are back with another mystery from the past and again I am enamored. Every time I read a book in the Tree of Life series it makes me regret not choosing a different profession. I would love to do what Jillian does! Digging for clues, finding the keys that unlock the truths of the past, and bring people more understanding of who they are and where they come from. It is utterly beautiful and something that always makes me ache to find my own truths.

In When I Meet You Jillian and Nolan are asked to look into the story behind a steamer trunk that was abandoned at Union Station in 1909, while Jillian also digs further into her own mother's old steamer trunk, which history has haunted her for years. I love that all the books in this series can be read as standalones, but when you read them as a series you get to intimately know and understand Nolan, Jillian, and many of the colorful characters of Canyon Mines, and really become more vested in these incredible characters and the unique situations they find themselves in.

What made this novel a favorite for me was the imperfectness of Jillian. In the first two books in the series Jillian seems to have such a charmed life, but in this book you see that she's not perfect, and that she too is flawed and can make rash judgements, like we all can. I also fell in love with Drew, a new character that I hope will continue to be in the series from now on.

Another incredible addition to one of my favorite series to date!!

The third book in Tree of Life Series. These books are all standalone mysteries that can be read out of order, with the main characters of Nolan and Jillian Parisi, a father-daughter team investigating. This story finds a client of Nolan's concerned about the legalities of finding a trunk that appears to have been abandoned years before at Denver's Union Station. The contents include correspondence with the Pinkerton Agency, which could be important. Jillian is called in and takes possession of the trunk and begins her genealogical search. As she begins to connect the dots, it seems that there could have been some wrong doing in the past. How far can she go with this investigation and will there be charges laid or property taken from a family that may or may not have anything to do with the original crime.

I enjoy this author's writing. She does a great job with the dual-timeline that is in each book. This book also has us learning a bit more about Jillian's past which was nice. The father-daughter relationship is wonderful with a lot of love, trust, support, yet also disagreement at times, which makes it realistic. The mystery is always sorted as the genealogy is figured out and Olivia Newport does a great job bringing both of the timelines together to a satisfying conclusion. Once again, if you enjoy genealogy, pick up this series for a good, clean and enjoyable story.

I didn't realize this was part of a series and now I want to go back and read them all!
I love mysteries and especially when they are not super dark.
The only thing that was tricky was the sort of dual time line as this is harder to read and grasp.
All in all though, I loved it!

I really enjoyed this book! It is the third in a series, and I have read the other two. I really enjoy this town, and feel this book was the best of the three so far.

I love that Jillian is a genealogy investigator. I have always been interested in that sort of thing myself, but never pursued it. I haven't the drive to actually put in the work to make connections, etc. But I enjoy reading about Jillian doing so!

I thought the concept of a discovered abandoned steamer trunk was great! I loved going back in time with the original characters and seeing how everything played out. I also enjoyed Jillian's battle to work through things her own mother left for her in a trunk she treasures. Nolan, as usual, is a sweet addition to the story. His planning a dinner for more and more people for the fundraiser was a nice, if frustrating, sub plot. Someone really needs to talk to Marilyn and tell her to not give people more work than they can handle.

The balance between history, romance, suspense, and sweetness was great in this book, and I'll definitely look forward to more in this series!

If you like mystery, genealogy and Faith then you will enjoy this book. Though it is the third in a series it is a book that could be read alone. My first book by this author and I didn’t feel like I was lost as I read it. I will go back and read the first two just because I enjoyed this one so much.
Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for the advanced copy.

This is book #3 of the Tree of Life series. I read the ARC of When I Meet You, by Olivia Newport at the invitation of Barbour Publishing, in exchange for an honest review.

Jillian is a genealogist. Her father, Nolan, is an attorney and mediator. They work together on the occasional project. This time, an antique dealer has received an old abandoned steamer trunk. The dealer wants to learn the history of the trunk and its owner in case any legalities involved – especially when the contents reveal a letter from Pinkerton’s National Detective Agency.

Jillian searches for the identities of the family, and a woman whose identity she believes may have been stolen. Nolan, meanwhile, searches the legalities of items.

When Jillian finds Drew on a ranch in Colorado, he is hospitable, but his Great Aunt Min is anything but. What could this mean from Drew and his potential inheritance of the ranch? Whatever happened to the woman who abandoned the trunk, and why was it abandoned?

When I Meet You is an intriguing mystery that will be enjoyed by mystery lovers, and especially by those who love solving a good genealogy mystery.

What made The Grumpy Book Reviewer grumpy?
A few missing commas, and using “showed” instead of “shown”.

The third book in the Tree of Life series.
I just love dual timeline books and though this is part of a series it can well enough be read as a stand alone.
Historical taking place in 1909 and contemporary taking place in modern day.
Genealogy is fascinating and there where so many twists and turns taking place I felt as though I was there while the investigation was taking place.
It was fascinating to read about an old abandoned steamer trunk and going back in time with the dual time line as past and present blend seamlessly to make for a fascinating story.
