So I am pretty sure I am hitting the lottery on here with books for my son. He is 4 and a half months old and I do believe he enjoys having me read to him. Love finding stories like this to share with him.

Okay, this book is just precious. I love their friendship. I love their adventure. I love the addition.of the opposite words. This would be perfect for a classroom! Cannot wait to get this book and share with some preschoolers!

This book was a cute story of Keelee and a beast who become friends over fruit. The rhymes worked well and made this a very quick read. Would suggest for younger readers. Beautiful illustrations.

A simple story with a sweet story and colorful illustrations that toddlers and preschoolers will enjoy. I read this to the 2 and 4 year olds that I nanny and it kept their attention the entire book. They liked the rhyming rhythm and the illustrations kept them engaged. They requested reading it again and were excited to act out the directional words of up, down, left and right. This is a book that I will add to my children's library when it is released. I am grateful to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lost Beast, Found Friend is a heart-warming and fun story about a girl and a cute beast, who meet and go on an adventure. The illustrations are beautiful and bold on colour, and the text has a nice rhyme to it - this would be a perfect read for a story time!

This is a short read but definitely an adorable one. The drawing is crisp, cute and alluring. Definitely a thumbs up. The colour palette is tasteful with vivid and lively colours. Not to mention the cover is attractive and cute which push me to read this book.

The story is charming. Human and animal relationship are certainly adorable. This teaches that beasts are good, kind and loving animals. I felt such a warm vibe from the book.

Conclusion:
This book is sweet, adventurous, genuine and free. Recommended!

This is a colourful story, told in rhyme, about a girl who lives on an island and discovers a beast eating fruit near her village. Realizing that the beast is from the other side of the island, she sets off to return him to his family.

The story is super simple, and I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to get out of it. If it's supposed to be about a blossoming friendship, it sort of failed. We basically just see Keelee and Beast moving through a tropical setting. It's also a bit confusing in that it took them two days to return Beast to his village... and yet the story ends with:

Beast lived not too far away.
So, when they wanted, they could play!

The meter is pretty clunky in places. The illustrations are rather bold and colourful, but they're also a bit strange. Keelee is supposed to be an "island girl", but she's kind of a featureless grey humanoid. Beast looks sort of like a fuzzy purple bison with pink horns. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, so perhaps the story takes place on Earth... but it's hard to say for sure.

Overall, this is a bit forgettable. Sure, Keelee and Beast may have become friends, but they apparently did so in some sort of time warp. If it takes you two days to walk to your friend's village, I can't imagine that you're going to be having a lot of playdates.

This is a simple, cute story about an "island girl" named Keelee, who has found a new friend that lives on the other side of her island. The illustrations are colorful and eye catching, and the rhyming text is easy to follow and would be wonderful read out loud.

This was just so cute in any way I could think of. I loved the art and the rhythm of the story that is told in rhymes. I can imagine my godchildren to mouth the words with me while I read the book to them and to be honest, it's just so cute that I wouldn't care at all to read it to them over and over again.

Lost Beast, Found Friend is a precious and positive story about a girl that helps a lost beast finding it's way back to it's family and finding a friend on the way. I think it can help with fears of beasts and monsters under the bed ("Remember Keelee and the lost beast, that wasn't scary at all, right?") and to just enjoy stories and the melody of words.

Lost Beast, Found Friend is a book full of beautiful images, funny sounds and lovely rhymes (even though it had two sentences that didn't really rhyme? But maybe that's just me) that can leave you and your little ones smiling and giggling.

Cute story highlighting friendship. The rhyming was entertaining and done well to engage the kids. The bright illustrations is very eye catching. The book had a nice theme of maintaining long-distance friendships and acceptance of those different. I personally would have preferred the girl to look like a girl rather than a purple blob character but overall the bright illustrations and easy flow to the writing will definitely attract little kids.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This is a cute rhyming book for young children that is bright and engaging as well as fun with the rhyming story that chikdren will remember as they share it and this will also help them to build on their vocabulary and have fun as they do so.
This story is about a child who meets a beast who is list, but they become close friends and have fantastic fun together. Beast finds his family and they welcome the child and when the child goes home they stay friends and the beast still visits the child to play and eat the fruit at their village.
This book helps to teach children that even though we are all different we can be friends and helps to teach them about acceptance too.

I absolutely adore the art in this book. It is bright, bold, and beautiful. The story is told in rhyme, which makes it a great example for kids learning the concept. In addition to rhyming, "Lost Beast, Found Friend" covers other important concepts such as east and west, left and right, and time of day. These concepts occur naturally within the story and are gorgeously illustrated so children will want to keep looking at them. Ultimately the plot has beast return to his home village and Keelee return to her home village, but not to worry! They can still be friends and visit each other. This could possibly be a good book to help a child cope with a friend moving away. I would definitely recommend to families.

My grandson, who is 5, downloaded and read this book all by himself. He loved it. I love the ease in which he was able to do this without help. The pictures were cute and he was able to read most of the words. Obviously he's a genius.

This is an adorable book! The illustrations were amazing, and so colorful. I love that the writer put in a bunch of rhymes because I think that’s important for kids to hear.

So being a mother of 5 I thought reading this book myself and then reading it to my toddlers would give me a better understanding of what makes a good children's book.

The illustrations were simply stunning. It drew me in immediately. I thought the rhyming was well done and the wording used was perfect for young children. My girls had me read it 3 times in a row.

You could really feel what the book was trying to say. Keelee and the beast's friendship was the main theme and I think the idea is to teach kids that it doesn't matter how different you look or where you come from, love, friendship and acceptance is so easy if you just open yourself up.

This one is definitely on my list to buy and now I need to know if the author has more children's books available.

A perfectly harmless night-time read for non-readers, this features two weird creatures, one sort of like a human child and one sort of like an elephant, who have an adventure for days so that the monster can get home, only to find they're actually much more local than that and so can stay friends. So the adult reading this will find no logic in it, and will need sunglasses for the deliriously gaudy artwork, but the book will quite certainly be effective – it's a lovely bouncy rhyme, there's just enough scope for pointing out things and adding to the low levels of drama, and it will help bonding over a book before hitting the hay.

Yeah, yeah, this is a really cute beast, and a cute story. And yes, the pictures are bright and colorful. But.

<img src="https://g2comm.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screen-Shot-2020-02-09-at-10.21.30-PM.png" alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-5598" />

The but I have is that this could have been done with a real child, and a creature, rather than two creatures. Perhaps we had to do it that way, so we wouldn't have to suspend our disbelief that her parents weren't upset that she was gone for two days. Or that she was feeding all their fruit to the beast. Or that no one went looking for her at all? And how did the girl know where the creature lived? How did she know where to go? Had she done this before?

So, a good, cute story, but perhaps I am too adult to enjoy it on a childish level.

Lost beast, found friend by Josh Trujillo.
Keelee is a brave, young girl who discovers a purple, fuzzy, funny beast! Together the two must make their way across this fantastic land to return Beast to his home. This is a touching tale of friendship and fun that children will want to revisit again and again. The children’s book is the debut of painter Nick Kennedy and comics writer Josh Trujillo (Dodge City). Lost Beast, Found Friend transports readers to a lush, tropical world, and Kennedy’s unique style gives Keelee and her new friend a vivid fantasy world to play in. This book will stick with readers of all ages long after story-time is over. Lost Beast, Found Friend is a charming and vibrant adventure story for the explorer in all of us!

Lost Beast, Found Friend
by Josh Trujilo

3 out of 5 stars

I got this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Well, this story follows the life of Keelee, a young girl who live in the village near the sea. Every day, she picked the trees to feed her family. And, one day, she met a beast that accidentally came near Keelee's village. So, at the end of the day, Keelle is willing to help her friend to go back to his own home.

The story is interesting and good for children. At least, there's a real story there. The illustration actually is very clear and bold. But, I think the shape of every character is weird. Then, when I tried to read this ARC through my apps in desktop, it takes a long time to lead. I think it happened because of the size of the ARC itself. Maybe the publisher should made the lighter version for this book.
