3 sisters come together when their father dies and learns that he’s been keeping a huge secret from them their entire lives! They each have to figure out how this secret will affect them.

This was an “interesting” read. I felt like it was pretty superficial. There were moments where you felt for the characters. But only in those moments. There’s not a whole lot of character development and the story moves really quickly. I found myself getting mad more at the characters then anything. They would sometimes act as if a real person were dealing with these things but then they’d turn around and act in the opposite. For example, the sisters find out that their father lied to them and said their mother died when they were little when in fact she was very much alive. So they go visit her and right off the bat believe everything this woman says about why she wasn’t in their lives! I’m sorry but that’s not realistic! I feel like real people would question her or at the very least have their guard up. There were just not a lot of things that I would connect with. It was an enjoyable read if you’re looking for something to pass the time.

As always, Danielle Steel comes up with another winner. What can I say that's not been said? She is the master at her craft. I can always depend on her to get me out of a reading slump and Daddy's Girls didn't disappoint.

Thank you to NetGalley for this book.

I'm biased but I've loved every Danielle Steel I've read and that's a lot of books so far.

Though it was typical of her books, this book was an enjoyable read all the way through.

I loved Kate, Gemma, and Caroline and their different lives and personalities and how they came together after their father, a rancher, JT died. Both Gemma and Caroline left the ranch that her father and Kate ran since they never got along with their father and even though Gemma was the "Daddy's Girl" she didn't care.

After their father died, they found out so much more about him. The girls always thought that their mother died when they were little but that was not the case. I won't spoil it, but it was a shocker to me. Also pertinent in this book was Juliette, a woman he met but never married who lived on the property. The girls loved her because she never was like a mother figure to them but a friend.

The ending was exactly what I expected from this book and all is well

I've been a Danielle Steel fan since childhood when my late grandmother introduced me to her. I have loved almost all of the books that I have previewed or read, but not the biggest fan of this one. I don't know what it was about this book in particular but I just did not find myself having a connection with the characters. It seems like the last few books have just lacked the creativity that her previous ones like my favorite Zoya had. This one was just lackluster and boring. It just did not have the "oomph' that wants to keep you reading

Another Danielle Steel novel that her friends are sure to love. I read this book for work as a member of the Penguin Random House team.

A Danielle Steel read I could not put down!

Kate is single, running her family ranch along-side her father for nearly twenty years when tragedy strikes and her father is suddenly gone. Kate's two sisters come to the ranch to take care of details and end up finding the peaceful ranch they hadn't enjoyed while their father was alive. While going through their father's things, they uncover a secret that has affected the entire lives of the three sisters and work together to find out what happened. The twists and turns of the family story kept me interested through the very end.

Set alongside the picturesque California landscape near Santa Barbara, Danielle Steel's latest novel is more of throwback to some of her earlier work. Daddy's Girls features three sisters, all very different (and beautiful of course) who grew up with their strong-willed ranch owner father, JT. Only one daughter, Kate, remains on the ranch, as Gemma and Caroline fled to LA and San Francisco after high school. Kate is the son JT never had and is devoted to both her ranch and her father. When tragedy unfolds Gemma and Caroline return to the ranch to discover secrets to their past as well as their future. While there was the repetition that usually accompanies Steel's work, especially over the last decade or so, the story moves quickly enough and yes, while predictable, has more depth than some of the more recent efforts.

Thank you to the writer, publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

Thank you to Netgalley, Random House Publishing Group and the Author Danielle Steele

I was intrigued to read this book by Danielle Steele both because I have never read anything by her before, and because I am currently semi-obsessed with the show Yellowstone and the beauty of the ranch and mountains, and as soon as I saw the cover of Daddy's Girls, I had to request it. This story focuses on 3 daughters' lives after their father, who was a rancher has died and left them his ranch. I did feel that, at times, the story line about the sisters' lives jumped all over the place. I usually don't like it when that happens in the books I read. The narrative also got a bit repetitive for me. All along, this was a decent story, but it wasn't a 5 star read for me. I am not shying away from Danielle Steele's other novels by any means. Overall it was an enjoyable read.

Danielle Steele is a word artist and paints a picture of sisterhood and their complex relationships with their father. Secrets will be discovered and lives will be changed.
Many thanks to Random House Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I have always love Danielle Steel books and I always say her last title is my favorite. But it is true. Her writing is amazing!!!

Danielle Steel is an author who I will always admire, pretty much no matter what she writes. After having read so many of her books, I have come to appreciate the vast difference between them all while acknowledging her same formula or tragedy and ultimately, happiness.

I have to admit I judged this book a little too harshly based on the title. I thought it would be a boring, predictable book based on how the daughters of this particular man all come to love him and essentially be just that, daddy’s girls. I’m glad I was proven wrong.

Daddy’s Girls is an excellent book about the different way each of JT’s daughter’s lives panned out. JT has three wildly different daughters who all want different things. This book is set in the lovely Santa Ynez region. JT is a self-made and successful ranch owner. He has three daughters that he is “raising” himself: Kate, Gemma, and Caroline. Kate is the only daughter who remains on the ranch with him. She never questions him and does everything possible for the ranch. Gemma is a big movie-star who always hated the ranch and Caroline always felt like her father never cared for her. They all believed their mother to be dead.

Everything seems pretty dandy until one day, JT unexpectedly passes away. The death of their father marks a huge change in their life when one day they find paperwork that alludes to them that their biological mother may be alive after all. They all make the small trek to Santa Barbara to confront the woman they once thought abandoned them. Turns out, they father lied to them all along. Their mother was always alive.

Everything seems to fall apart for each of the sisters after their father’s death. Kate doesn’t know what to do with the ranch, Gemma’s ten-year show comes to an end and Caroline’s husband cheats on her. They all find solace coming together on the ranch that they pretty much all desperately tried to escape from.

In the end, everything pans out well for the sisters, Gemma having found a new show to star on, and a new man, Caroline reunited with her husband and Kate falls for the foreman and they all live happily ever after.

I give this book 3.75 starts if possible because although it is a feel-good book, I feel like everything working out for everyone in the end was too stickly-sweet and a little unrealistic. Other than that, this was a run of the mill, simple, and enjoyable book. Nothing too special.

I recommend it nonetheless to joyfully pass the time.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. I appreciate it.

Terrific Danielle Steele formula book. Romance, family drama and all tied up nicely in the end. A great book to read that was good, has lovable characters and it was a little on the lighter side.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I liked this story but it's not my favorite Danielle Steel book. 3 women return to their father's California ranch when he dies unexpectedly. The girl's all had a different relationship with their father and grew up quite differently. As they start to settle the estate they learn some secrets about not only their father but their mother and themselves. I found the father a little unlikable. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Daddy’s Girls by Danielle Steel is another one of her wonderful standalone novels focusing on family. This story centers on three sisters, who though close, do not see each other much; but that changes when their father dies of a massive heart attack. JT Tucker brought up his three young daughters after his wife died, and moved to California and years later owned one of the biggest ranches. Only one daughter, Kate stayed on the ranch and helped her father run everything, but it was always his way or no way.

The other two sisters come home to help Kate pick up the pieces, plan the funeral, and learn that the three of them now share equally the ranch, but they each know that everything in their life will change.
Kate loved the ranch, and planned to continue to run it and also make improvements that she thought would make things easier and better. The foreman, Thad, secretly has always had a crush on Kate. He has told her if the other two sisters want to sell their share, he would love to buy one of them out and work with Kate. Kate is the strong dedicated sister, who kept things organized and always took care of everyone.

Gemma, the middle sister, is a successful actress, who has a fun, bubbly personality, as she lives a lifestyle of a star. Gemma was considered her father’s favorite daughter, mainly because he enjoyed her being famous. When her television show is cancelled, Gemma is unable to keep up with her high living style, and has problems financially. She talks to Kate about selling her share of the ranch, even if she has enjoyed staying there, but it will give her the money to pay off some debts. She spends a lot of time at the ranch, planning to sell her mansion and hoping in time she will get another job offer.

Carolyn, the younger sister, is happily married with two children, and is a successful writer. Caro left the ranch soon after graduation, and rarely came back. She brings her two children to stay a bit at the ranch and they all enjoyed themselves. When Carol returns home, she accidently discovers that her husband is having an affair; unable to cope with this, she kicks him out, and decides to take the children back to the ranch for the summer.
It was nice watch the three sisters spend more time together and their close bond brought them back to the days when they were children. Now as adults, they planned to be there for each other. The one major thing changed their opinion of their father was revealed pretty early on. Kate found documents that their mother was not dead; their father divorced her. This shocked all the sisters, and they set out to find out if she was still alive, and if so, why a divorce and why he did lie? I loved how they find their mother all these years later, and she explains her mistake, and that over the years she tried to see them, but their father would not allow it. But most of all I was crazy about how all three sisters came to terms, and opened their heart to their newly found mother. Great addition to this story. Very well done.

What follows is a wonderful story, as the three sisters become even closer, especially after finding the mother they never had. I loved seeing each of them learning to lean on their sisters, as well as making decisions to better their lives. It was a wonderful, emotional, heartwarming and satisfying story of a family and their journey to happiness, forgiveness and togetherness. I really enjoyed this very much. Danielle Steel once again gives us another winner that you need to read.

I was thrilled to embark on this adventure written by one of my favorite authors! I have read numerous books by Danielle Steel and found this one to be a little different from those I have read previously. I was captured by the vivid characters and became enmeshed in their lives. There were vivid descriptions of all the sisters (Kate, Caroline, and Gemma) and other characters so I felt like they were people in my life as opposed to fictitious creations. This was a story of so many things. It was a story of loss, It was a story of finding and discovery, It was a story of life, secrets, love, and acceptance. Most of all, it was a story of hope. I traveled along with each sister as she journeyed from the backdrop of life on the ranch to follow her dreams. After the death of their father, each of the sisters grappled with their past, and their present and what each discovered paved the way to their future. After reading this book you may find yourself reflecting on your life and your place in the world. If any author can lead you there, Danielle Steel will pave the way.

3.5 stars, rounded up! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First off, there’s just something about stories with a ranch setting. Not sure why, but I really enjoy them. I also love this book cover!

Three very different sisters come together at their father’s ranch after his sudden and unexpected death. Each of these women have a different type of relationship with their late, domineering father. Secrets will be revealed and misfortune will happen.

Will being around one another again bridge the gap between them and their differences? I really liked most of the characters, but (without giving any spoilers) Caroline was my least favorite. Her story annoyed me, her actions annoyed me and her husband was a colossal douche rocket.

There’s some repetition throughout, but that sometimes happens in some of Steel’s books. It doesn’t take away from the entertainment factor for me and I always look forward to reading anything releases. Her books are my “go-to” when I want to escape my “thriller” life!

If you are a Danielle Steel fan, be sure to add this one to your list!

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House - Ballantine and Danielle Steel for my advanced copy to read and review.
