Daddy's Girls was the perfect escape to start my summer vacation - I plowed through it in less than 36 hours. There's enough glamour but not too much to make me roll my eyes or feel irritable... the sisters are relatable, whether you identify with one or parts from all three. The plot is pleasantly predictable and the ending makes me smile. I knew this book would be exactly the distraction I needed from the seriousness of 2020. Thank you to #Netgalley for the opportunity to preview #DaddysGirls by Danielle Steel.

Danielle Steel is one of my all time favorite authors and she has mastered another big hit (in my eyes) with Daddy’s Girls. I have always loved her talent of portraying characters in such a way that you get to know them quickly and it is easy to fall into the story of their lives effortlessly. This was definitely the case with the three sisters in this novel. Just like in real life, the personalities of the sisters are very different and they each lead such varied lives. Also like real life, their relationships with each other are not perfect, but yet the familial bond and love bring them together. Books about families and their psychological aspects are my favorite, so I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I don’t know how Steel has written as many books as she has and always is able to come up with new angles, plots, and characters, but I am so happy that she does! Daddy’s Girls is one of my top favorites of hers, for sure.

3.5 stars (or close enough)

This was a decent story, although not quite to the level of a few of her most recent I've read. I had issues with the beginning and how the preliminary story of the sisters and their lives just jumped.all.over.the.place. It didn't flow well, which made things hard to follow, and as it sort of set the scene for things to come, it just wasn't a good beginning for me. But I got past that, and eventually the story flowed quite well. It was fairly predictable, but honestly, there's only so much you can do with this genre that hasn't been done a million times before, and I expect that from this author, so that wasn't really meant as a criticism, but more as just a fact. Caroline was probably my least favorite character; I related far more to Kate and Gemma. Caroline had a chance to redeem herself in my eyes at the end, but then didn't. I realize I shouldn't judge people in their choice, but I guess it's okay to judge a book character. Anyway, while the storyline with the girls and their mother was a pretty key part of the book, it felt a bit "extra" to me, like the book would have been just fine without it, so that also made parts of the book feel off to me. But despite all this, overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend it for anyone who is a fan of Ms. Steel's books.

Danielle Steel never disappoints. This story of the bonds between sisters and their places within the family is truly heartfelt.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
"Set against the magnificent backdrop of the West and the drams of a family in turmoil, 'DADDY'S GIRLS' is the story of three remarkable women and their unique bond to each other - the daughters of a complex, many-faceted, domineering father who left his mark on each of them." - from Daddy's Girls ARC.
Danielle Steel writes the most entertaining books that take you to places you may never have visited and wonderful companions to "travel" with. Most of her books are about families and the many issues that can arise within the family structure and by the end of the book she has righted the injustices, tragedies, losses, etc. I definitely recommend this book. Enjoy! 📚

This book follows three sisters who grew up on a ranch with their father and all took different paths as adults. Kate stayed on the ranch and worked for her father, Gemma became a TV star, and Caroline got married and has two children. After the shocking death of their father, the three sisters find themselves together again tackling more than just the lost of their father.

While I have enjoyed many of Danielle Steele's books, I had a difficult time falling in love with this one. It took me about halfway into the book to finally want to read it and I didn't enjoy the path each sister ultimately ended up following. In addition, I felt that the book was a bit repetitive. However, I love that she portrayed strong female protagonists.

Death is The Catalyst For Huge Changes
This is a wonderful women's fiction novel that is going to haunt me for a while. This author always writes fantastic stories and this is one of her best. At the center of the story is a huge California ranch, its founder, and his three adult daughters. Upon his death, all of the women see huge changes come to their lives, filling in the hole that his loss has left. It is a powerful story that I really got into. The tale is all about the people. While the ranch is integral to the story, there is little about the livestock and much about the land. This is a very good story that I want to read again in a few months after I digest what I have just read. I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

I've been reading Danielle Steel books for years and you would think that I'd be tired of them, but I'm not. She always has a new twist or theme that just hasn't been done. This was a wonderful story about 3 sisters who come together to deal with their father's death and find out he's been lying to them for a long time. No spoilers here, but I loved how each sister changed their life after his death - all for the better.

I haven't read a book by Danielle Steel in several years but I'm glad I was able to read this one! In this book, a father, JT Tucker, has raised his daughters all by himself since they were small. He led his girls to believe that their mother was dead but throughout this story, the girls find out their mother is alive and have the dilemma of whether to contact her or not.

JT had taken his girls to Texas to raise them on a ranch. Each of the girls had a totally different relationship with their father. Caroline was not really a ranch girl and had married and moved far away with her husband and now her kids and had become a writer. Gemma had left to become a movie star but was still considered her father's favorite. Kate was the oldest and had stayed on the ranch to help her father run the ranch. When JT passes away, the girls learn much about who he was and who they thought he was. Also the girls' relationships with each other are challenged and change throughout the process of grieving and learning more about their dad and themselves!

Thank you to the publisher, Dell, and Net Galley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of the book. I would highly recommend this book as a great summer read!

Danielle Steel has created another heartwarming love story that will make the reader walk away knowing true love does exist. The story of three women raised by their single father following their mother's death. JT has a special and different relationship with each of his daughters. Following their father's death the sisters are left to discover secrets that will turn their world upside as they are left to figure out who their father truly was.

Danielle Steel doesn’t disappoint. Daddy’s Girls, based on a ranch in California, three sisters morn the loss of their overbearing father. Each sister is very different. Kate is a rancher through and through. She has helped run her father’s operation for the last 20 years. Gemma is a Hollywood starlet who has found fame and fortune. Caroline is a writer, mom of two and living in the suburbs of San Francisco. These sisters come together in a way that was not possible while their father was alive. The story is heart warming, with several unexpected relationship ups and downs.. The trio will make you believe in happily ever after.

Daddy’s Girls tells the story of three sisters, Kate, Gemma and Caroline. Each of these girls could not be more different, but they were bonded to each other as sisters are. Kate, is the oldest. She lives in her father’s shadow and runs the ranch with him. Caroline, is the youngest. She escaped the ranch as fast as she could and found love raising a family of her own. Middle daughter, Gemma is the star of the family and was her father’s favorite. She is on a huge television series in California and wants nothing to do with the ranch. The girls grew up on their ranch with their father, JT. It’s amazing how all three girls grew up there and they each have such strong feelings regarding the ranch, and their father.
JT Tucker, escaped poverty and packed up his three young girls, leaving Texas after the death of his wife. Through hard work and dedication he builds the largest ranch in California. At sixty-four, he dies suddenly leaving the ranch to his three girls and their lives are sent into a tailspin. They spend a weekend going through a paper trail in their dad’s office and discover shocking news that sends their entire world off its axis.
Set in the gorgeous West with a landscape painted by Steel, with her gorgeous description this follows three grown women as they discover their role as a sister, a friend, a lover, a wife and a daughter. Told in only the way Steel can with such devotion to detail and love for her characters Daddy’s Girls was such an enjoyable read and the perfect addition to my Steel collection.

Kate, Gemma, and Caroline are all grieving the death of their father JT, who raised them as a single dad, when they get a very big surprise that will change their lives. JT lived large- he created a big ranch which Kate helped to run. Gemma is an actress who has financial and career concerns. Caroline who appears to have a good life with her husband and writing career, well, she doesn't. These three will pull together to help each other and to deal with what they did not know. No spoilers! This is a classic Steele novel- it reads easily, the three sisters are all appealing in their way, and there is a happy ending. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. For her fans or anyone looking for a quick entertaining read (this would make a good lifetime movie).

Danielle Steel at her best. She crafts characters like no other author. This story about 3 sisters whose lives are thrown into uncertainty and chaos following the sudden death of their father. A story of coming into themselves and why it means to face the truth, not only about each other but about themselves. Of course while everything comes together at the end, I really enjoyed the journey of Kate, Gemma and Caroline. I felt like I was right there with them.
One of her better books, I was sad to see it end. I was provided the chance to read this by #Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Another good book by Danielle Steel. Daddy's Girls is about three very different sisters who inherit a ranch after their dad dies. They find out that he lied to them about their mother whom he said died. They meet her after their dad passed. His death bring them closer together.

I'm a Danielle Steel fan, one of millions. The one thing we all have in common is an appreciation of the quality of the stories and the feelings brought to the surface by startling journeys of the characters. Daddy's girls refers to three sisters, different in temperament and what they expect from life. The story begins with their father's death and the story of how he came to be a larger than life anchor for a whole community, not just his daughters. As each sister begins to see how their lives will be different now, they learn that each of them carries a special place in their hearts for sisters......

Loved this book! It is a family drama. Sisters Kate, Caroline and Gemma all have lives in different cities. When their father dies they come together and find out that he had lied to them and their lives are forever changed. They are all facing challenges but unite to become a family again.

Thanks for Random House and Danielle Steel for this book!
