This was exactly what I needed to read right now. It was a pleasant storyline about the bond of three sisters going through life’s ups and downs. I can always count on Danielle Steel to give me the entertainment that I need with a storyline that holds my attention and is never a chore to read.

We meet Jimmy Tucker and his three daughters. There is Kate who works with him on their ranch. Her sister Caroline who is married with two children writes young adult books. And there is Gemma who left for L.A. and stars in a popular tv series. All three sisters are so very different from the one who stayed home and tried to become what her father wanted to the one who is head strong and stands her ground. While Caroline vied for the culture and knowledge she found near San Francisco and Gemma who dreamed of heading for the hills of Hollywood, Kate never wanted to leave the family ranch. Both sisters were content in their lives and rarely came home to visit. All this changes when their family suddenly dies leaving the ranch to all three girls. All the sisters must find their way to deal with their feelings toward their father now that he is gone and what they means to each of them. Along the way, they find a mystery to solve and perhaps even some romance thrown in. Will this bring the sisters closer or will it keep them further apart as they get to know each other again?

Danielle Steel has brought us another adventure of family and love. It shows us how the bonds of family can be tested and whether or not they bring us closer or tears us apart. I enjoyed following these sisters who forged very different paths become strong women in charge of their destiny after a tragedy strikes them suddenly and what truths they find out not only about themselves, but about their family.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for this privilege.

In Daddy’s Girls, Danielle Steel paints the story of three daughters of a domineering father. Two have gone off to live away from him and his successful ranch and one remains. When he dies these three women come together and discover information that reveals his lies and secrets. The characters are portrayed well. However, the author’s constant repetition of what is happening and her recaps along the way are annoying and interfere with the progression of the story.

The latest book by Danielle Steel is Daddy's Girls, expected to be released on June 9, 2020. I have been a fan of Danielle Steel for more than thirty years, and I must admit that this book is now one of my favorites. Daddy's Girls is the story of three sisters and the complex relationship they each have with their father, as well as each other.

Jimmy "JT" Tucker was a ranch hand in Texas. After the sudden death of his wife, JT took his three young daughters to the Santa Ynez Valley in California to start a new life. He had virtually no money, but with a strong work ethic and a determination to succeed, he built one of the biggest ranches in California.

Kate Tucker is forty-two...the oldest of the three daughters...and the only one that stayed on the ranch after growing up. She loves the ranch and works tirelessly along side her father every day. Her only complaint is the fact that her father seldom acknowledges all of her hard work. Praise is not something JT hands out, and when he does, it is always geared towards her younger sister, Gemma.

Gemma Tucker...now forty-one...left the ranch as soon as she turned eighteen, and headed for Los Angeles. Gemma is a successful television star, and the one JT has always favored. Gemma can do no wrong in her father's eyes, and she knows it. She loves her glamorous Hollywood lifestyle, and seldom returns home to the ranch.

Caroline is thirty-nine, the youngest of the three sisters. She left the ranch to attend UC-Berkeley for college, and now is a successful writer of young adult books. She is married to Peter, and has two children, Morgan and Billy. Caroline is the only one of the sisters that has always felt as if she never belonged, which made her feel like a stranger within her own family.

Each sister has carved out a life that suits them, but everything changes when their father suddenly dies from a heart attack, and leaves the ranch to them. Gemma and Caroline return to the ranch after his death, and the three sisters begin going through their father's belongings. They soon realize that the life they thought they had growing up was nothing but a lie. Determined to make sense of it all, the three sisters set out in search of the truth.

The story that unfolds is exceptionally well-written, and will hold your attention from beginning to end. The characters are complex, but all are easy to relate to. Each sister has struggled in the relationship with their father, as well as with one another. As the story progresses, it is beautiful to watch the bond they were missing finally begin to form.

Danielle Steel perfectly weaves together this amazing story of family, love, lies and deception...and the truth that will bring them together as a family. Each character has their strengths and weaknesses, but the one thing they all have in common is how much their father made them who they are today. Growing up, they were never that close. However, after the death of their father, they each begin to see each other for who they truly are. The lies revealed after their father's death has now given them something they were missing before...the unconditional love and unbreakable bond between sisters and family.

I would like to thank Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review an ARC of Daddy's Girls. My views are my own, and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

The storyline was pretty predictable and slow at times. This is more of a fairy tale story with each sister loving and supporting each other. As always, things usually work out in the end. I've noticed that Ms. Steel's books lately have become more sexually graphic which is unnecessary.

I always loved Danielle Steele's books. However, lately her books have become systematic and it feels like filler is put in to get the required page numbers. The constant repeating of information is not needed. The readers can remember what was told us in the previous chapter. I couldn't finish the book. I love Danielle Steele. books of the eighties.

I had stopped reading Danielle Steel's books many years ago. Then I received an ARC of The Numbers Game and truly enjoyed it. Daddy's Girl has a lot of potential but just doesn't hit the mark. The story is about three sisters who are in their late 30's and early 40's and their father passes away suddenly. When we first meet, Kate, Gemma, and Caroline, each sister is content in their individual lives. Their father's death is a catalyst to change the underlying discord and unhappiness in each one's lives and focus on changing their lives for the better . I enjoyed the plot and storyline. I felt that the book was repetitive in several spots and that the characters could have been developed more fully. All in all, I give it three stars for the story. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

I loved the family dynamics and also the element of suspense in Daddy's Girls..The daughters all had a different relationship with their father but find out how he lied to them in order to control their lives. Kim who bends to her father's wishes and worked with him on the ranch.

Gemma who he said was his favorite was always at odds with her father and left to pursue her dreams of being an actress. Carolyn who was a baby when they moved to the ranch, never felt part of the family or loved by her father. I want to thank #NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read #DaddysGirls. I have been a long time reader of Steel's books. This book I would give it a 3 star out of 5 rating She made the characters and story believable.

Even though this was a good book, I felt like it was rushed. Not enough on the characters, I felt like I didn’t connect with any of them. I felt like it was written as if she had 10 hours to write a book.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book for an honest review. Danielle Steel knows how to write family drama. This book takes on three sisters dealing with the sudden loss of their domineering father. Caroline, Gemma, and Kate all live with their father on his ranch in California. As a single father, JT raises them alone until each grew and left home. Only Kate stayed back to help run the ranch. Now back together at the ranch after his death, JT's daughters come back to mourn and find out his father was hiding a life changing secret. Danielle Steel at her best. Great read!

Daddy's Girls is another one of Danielle Steel's hits. The story is set in the west on a ranch, where J. T. Tucker has raised his three very different daughters. The oldest, Kate, has stayed with her father and worked on the ranch her entire life. The middle daughter and his favorite, Gemma left for Hollywood and has become a star. The youngest and most ignored, Caroline, left for college, married and has children and a successful writing career. When J.T. has a heart attack and dies instantly, the girls must come to terms with his death and running a ranch. They discover that their mother, whom JT told them was dead, is alive and living not far from the ranch. Kate learns to make decisions on her own for the first time. Gemma learns that she has to be a better money manager after her show is suddenly canceled. Caroline learns to be her own person after she makes a shocking discovery about her marriage. Daddy's Girls was typical Danielle Steel and very enjoyable.

This is another great book by Danielle Steel. The book is about three sisters that actually get along with each other but not so much with their father. The father stole them from the mother because she made a mistake. The girls grew up thinking mom was dead. I enjoyed getting to know this family ups and downs. It was a great book.

REVIEW FROM BOOKS FOR HER:

It's been years since reading Danielle Steel - and the name means automatic books sales for many.  If you have the patience to get through the first half of a slow-moving, slow-developing plotline, then you may love Daddy's Girls more than me - and it may be worth the wait.

I loved the setting - a beautiful ranch in northern California - and the premise of three daughters raised by a single, hard-working father. But the story development was too slow and rather than showing us and having the reader experience the joys and challenges, the author tells us what happens. The first half feels like it's read in monotone. But the second half blossoms. By then you know the characters and start to experience life with them and feel for them. It's hard to recommend - but if you're patient, you'll be rewarded in the second half.

Available June 9, 2020: Daddy's Girls by Danielle Steel.

Danielle Steel is one of my favorite authors. Her books are so easy to read. I love the family aspect of her books. This one definetly was a feel good book but also i like how everyone had to find themselves and actually ended up better and a true true family in the end. Lots of love and forgiveness in this one. #Daddysgirls #Netgalley

Daddy’s Girls is about three sisters who deal with the aftermath of their father’s unexpected passing. Kate, the oldest, is the only one who stayed at the ranch in order to help their father run the place. After his passing, Kate is the one who takes it the hardest. Gemma, the middle sister, is an actress who left the ranch behind in order to become a huge star. After ten years her hit show has been cancelled and she is forced to go back to the very ranch she despises. Caroline, the youngest, has it all. She has a husband with a good job and two perfect kids. Caroline also left the ranch and hardly ever came back home. But is her life so perfect after all? Each sister is forced to examine their lives and decide what really matters to them.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read and I read through it pretty quickly. My granny was a big Danielle Steel fan and I think she would have enjoyed this book as well. I look forward to reading more Danielle Steel novels in the future.

Three sisters, same father, but they are all entirely different in temperament.

Their rancher father dies and they all have to take stock of their feelings towards their dad.
They each had their issues with their father which through the years had distanced them from each other. As they all come back together, they find a new family bond.

This book takes you through each of the sisters’ resolutions of their feelings.

I felt this was a rather slow moving story without a lot of action, however, was still an interesting read. I would recommend it to lovers of Danielle Steel books.

I received an ARC copy of the book from Random House Publishing Group – Ballantine and NetGalley and the opinions expressed are my own.

A BIG Thank You to Netgalley and Delacorte Press for providing me with an advanced reader’s copy of “Daddy’s Girls” for my review.

I had high expectations for this book. Kaleidoscope is one of my favorite Danielle Steel novels from the past, and was similar to this plot. As much as I wanted to like this book, I thought it was average. It started off really well with a lot of potential, but towards the end I felt disappointment.

Let me start with what I liked about the story. I really liked the main characters. Kate, Caroline and Gemma are unique and likable in their own manner. Even though they have their faults, they are very entertaining and provide a good contrast to the story. I liked the scenes when they meet Scarlett, and thought the author wrote them well. Of course, I always love Danielle Steel’s writing style, and love the romance included with the characters.

However, I had a quite a lot of problems reading it too. Firstly, I really did not like how they decided to throw Jimmy’s character under the bridge. The man raised three girls and built an empire from scratch on his own. He had his reasons for not telling the girls about their mother. But halfway in, everyone bashes him for hiding the secret from them. Moreover, Scarlett was not a saint for Jimmy to trust her. Hence, I really did not like how they painted him in such a negative manner.

Secondly, I thought there was not enough drama in the story. The first half of the book is interesting with the introduction of Scarlett, and the drama between Caroline and Peter. But nothing interesting happens at all in the second half. Moreover, personally, I really did not like the solution that Caroline came up with on what to do with Peter. Finally, I felt some characters like Juliette and Tom were unnecessary and who did not add any value.

Overall, this book had a nice premise but the author could have executed it better!

No matter how many Danielle Steele books I read every single one is unique and amazing in it's own way!!!!!!!!!!! She has a way of drawing you into the story and the characters. Making you feel like you personally know them and feel into their story. Daddy's Girls is a beautiful story about 3 sisters whose ranch foreman father raised them as a single, widowed man. Each one of the sisters are unique and different in their own way. They lose their father at the beginning of the story and have to navigate their lives without daddy. The death of their father changes all three of them in different but good ways. Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing for my honest review
