Was super excited to read another Marian Keyes book. This one felt like a departure from her other novels. Definitely a look inside the messy lives of adults and what reality looks like. There were quite a few characters thrown in at the beginning and this took some time to keep them straight.

I’m a huge Marian Keyes fan and this book was intriguing to me I really enjoyed the different perspectives and how this book is about a family that comes together and yet everyone holds on to their secrets. The biggest hurdle for me with this book is that it is very long and drawn out (since we follow so many different characters) and in the beginning I seemed to lose who was who.

Another entertaining story from Marian Keyes! She’s been a long-time favorite author of mine. I appreciate her ability to weave in humor with emotion and family stories. She also has a fun look at the female perspective on the world.

I didn’t get a chance to finish this book due to time, but I appreciate her work as an author!

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my opinions.

Sadly I had to DNF, due to a lack of time and interest on my part.

GROWN UPS - MARIAN KEYES

Grown Ups deceips the family of the Caseys, whose lives are just as dysfunctional as any other family's. Even if the outside world wouldn't be able to tell this information about them.
The intricate functions of a failing family- dynamic unfurls as Ed's wife Cara suffers a concussion and starts to tell some hard truths.

It was so long and nothing happend, nothing at all... it was so boring and these characters most times did not act like grown ups. I hoped it would get better, but it just did not and i had enough.

Infelizmente, a escrita da Marian Keys não combina comigo :( Já é o segundo que tento ler da autora e não flui.

I loved this one! I really loved the crazy dysfunctional family theme. Keeping track of the many characters was a little hard at first, but I grew to love them all. I loved how there was such contrasting differences between the siblings and their spouses, and all the characters were well developed and detailed. Although this was a long read, it went by fast. It also tackled a lot of tough topics. (Body image, addiction, infidelity) but was still an easy read!

Tried reading this one and it just was not meant for me. This does not mean that it is not a good book, I just was not in the right place to be reading it and have decided to not try picking it up anytime in the near future.

Marian Keyes does it again. I've grown up with this author (no pun intended) and have read her books since I was a teenager.

I worked in an Irish book shop for years and I always recommended Marian Keyes books. Her books have a little bit of everything and I love them.

I also recommend following Marian on twitter, she is so funny, makes my day!

Not able to finish this book. Too many people who whose character development and life experiences were uninterested to me. Very disappointed as so many praised this book and I wanted to like.

I couldn’t get into this book, as much as I wanted to. The premise had so many possibilities, the thought of one of my relatives spilling family secrets and more just makes me laugh. The reality of the book didn’t live up to the idea. Also, my book was missing the “f’s” , and had chopped up paragraphs which made reading difficult.
There were some fun moments, Cara saying get me out of here before I make it worse was funny and I felt sorry for her. The cast of characters was so big I had to keep turning back to find out who they were talking about. 3 stars.

I hadn't read a Marian Keyes before, and while I sold so many of this one at work, I don't know if it's the one I should have started with. It was very long, took a while for me to get into, and felt like it didn't really pick up until the end. My cousin also read this one, and while she enjoyed it, she said she wouldn't reach for this one again.

I am usually a fan of Marian Keyes and I very rarely give up on a book but I couldn't get into this book, I had been reading for weeks and I was only 35% through. I didn't like the characters, I didn't like the way it was written, I wasn't enjoying the story and I lost the will to go on.

Classic Marian Keyes. I love the characters and how well fleshed out they are. I feel like I could go up to them and know them. I did feel like this was a bit king and drug in spots., but enjoyable as all her works are.

I originally wasn't able to read this title when I downloaded it from NetGalley because of a formatting issue but I love Marian Keyes, so I bought the book recently and wanted to post my review after reading it!

This was another fabulous read by Keyes! I love how her books have depth and her characters are always so fantastic, full of heart and soul. She's been an auto-buy/auto-read author of mine for decades, and this book just proved why!

Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Marian Keyes is such a great story teller. Her novels are so funny and lighthearted but full of soul and depth. Her characters are flawed but so enjoyable. I loved, loved "Grown Ups"

This book was long. I am probably going to mention that a few times.
We are introduced to this large family, given lots of backgrounds, insights, and storylines that on their own could be full novels, and crammed it all into one big fat block of a book. Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed reading it, was hooked after reading about 40% of it, had to know how it ended up, but-

The book was so long and I still have so many unanswered questions! (I have so many questions, that turn into spoilers... Sorry! ) Gah! Is this a set up for a sequel?
Will I ever know if Liam became a good person? Do Nell and Ferdia develop more than a friendship? Do he and Barty make up? What about Johnny and Jessie? Do the Kinsellas ever forgive them? Does Jessie confront Izzy? Do they go online and save their store?

I would have given this more stars if it was split into two. Give us a sequel for some of the run off plots that didn't ever get solved.

Also lost a star because I really wanted that festival to be a real place I could go to and was sad to find out it was just a tease. (j/k though those baths in the forest sound divine!)

Marian Keyes is a definite go-to author for me. She always manages to write witty, entertainingly-humorous characters. In Grown Ups, Keyes was able to both write an intriguing story and a large cast of characters that I thoroughly enjoyed reading about.

When the grown ups are more childish than the children, and humor abounds, this is what we're left with. I enjoyed every sparkling moment.
