Another lovely story from Ella Quinn. I love that she allows her characters the breathing room to get to know one another. This is a story of a true courtship: from attraction, to friends, to forever. However, that’s not to say it’s a perfect story. The romance gets an A, but in addition to getting chapters from both the hero and heroine’s POV, we also get them from the “villain”, which is distracting. (Really, it’s just a way to get in more sex scenes - he’s an unapologetic whore). And there’s a rushed anti-slavery subplot tacked on toward the end which really makes more sense if you’ve read book 5 in The Marriage Game series. So, not a perfect book, but the main romance plot was excellent which redeemed the rest.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This was an enjoyable read with a new twist. The story flowed easily. The characters were believable for the times, and included more depth than some romances.

Really wanted to like this one because it was so different, but I could have used a little more old fashioned romance

I would like to thank netgalley and Kensington Books for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't care for any of the main characters, and I didn't like that there were 3 povs.

My Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5

On the whole, this book was good. The characters were solid, and while there was definitely chemistry between Fredrick - Frits to his friends, and Adeline, it wasn't one of those instances where they instantly fell in love with one another. In fact, Adeline spends most of the book coming up with reasons not to succumb to his attentions (or her attraction to him).

Because of this, I enjoyed watching him try to win her over. From the little things like sending her flowers, and taking her to get ices; to the more obvious asking her to stand up with him at balls and taking her for carriage rides it was the kind of slow-burn romance that makes for a good story. It was also amusing to watch the way that Littleton was about to thwart the plans of Adeline's other (nefarious) suitor at every turn.

Now we come to the aspects of this book that I didn't enjoy. To begin with, some of the names were VERY similar. When you have a Lord Turner as well as a Lord Turley; and a Lord Littleton with a Mr.Lettsome it quickly becomes confusing. More than once I had to go back and re-read a passage to determine who the author was talking about. Then there is the unnecessary drama surrounding a background character who not only still owns slaves, but allows them to be whipped in the street. While I can understand why the whipping scene would be included as it shows the depth of Fredrick's character, the subsequent drama that results just isn't needed in my opinion, especially when there had already been drama surrounding one of Adeline's other suitors early on in the story.

All things considered, this was a strong start to a new series that I believe fans of the genre will adore. I would read more from this author!

It was nice to see a man, Frits, pursuing a woman, Adeline, so determinately! I did feel that the book dragged on towards the end. I think there should have been another way for Adeline to finally decide she loved Frits. I look forward to the rest of this series. I received an Arc from NetGalley and Kensington Books for my honest review.

This plot was super convoluted. From the terrible Lord from Paris, to a random rescue mission, to influenza, and then a thwarted kidnapping? This was meh.

Ella Quinn said have a cute romance, as a treat.
I'm really enjoying the trend of romance novels that are addressing actual issues, and adapting to a modern world.

I enjoyed this book. It includes characters from previous books but that doesn't detract from this story. Frits has decided he needs to settle down. He likes the country rather than the town. He made a bit of a hash of the previous season as he realised too late that he wasn't compatible with the seasons diamond and rushed home. Unfortunately he now reaslises that Adeline is the one...but she's a great friend of his last passion. Adeline wonders if he's a rake, is he sincere, will they be able to have a happy ever after. For the majority of the book it's kisses and close encounters and for me this probably went on a bit to long but eventually everything turns out right!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Ella Quinn's historical romances are always great, delicious, indulgent comfort food, and The Most Eligible Lord in London is no exception! The book does have a slightly slower start, but once the pace picks up, it's impossible to put down. Our heroine is bold and honorable and totally cool!

Thank goodness for match making mama's. But if Adeline hadn't overheard a couple of women detailing how they were going to compromise Frits, she might not have given him a chance. They have so much in common. They make such a cute couple.

This is a first read by this author and "The Most Eligible Lord in London" by Ella Quinn is a very enjoyable read. As a first time read, I thought her story was well-written and the characters were delightful. The start of the story was a bit slow but picked up its pace.
Lady Adeline Wivenly is waiting on her debut season where she plans to meet and fall in love. She has a passion for animals and the country and wants to marry and live away from the ton. Trying to rectify his mistakes from his last attendance at a seson, Lord Littleton, also know as Frits becomes attracted to the Lady Adeline. Unfortunately, due to his past mistake, one of her friends has deemed him as a rake and warns her off from any relationship with the Lord.

Frits uses all his whits to court Lady Adeline and pursues her when she tries to avoid him at all cost. Alas, they both find themselves agreeing to supper dances, outings, walking Max, and the more time with one another builds into love. This was a wonderful story that have lovely characters, laughs, meddling mommas and ends in a wonderful HEA.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was a simple, quick read. I liked seeing things from the man’s point of view as the hero realizes that he messed up the previous season by spending too much time with one woman only to realize that they had little in common. Now he’s back to look again for a wife and he’s immediately attracted to Adeline. The only problem is that she’s friends with the lady he offended from last year and that woman has warned Adeline that he is a rake. So somehow he has to demonstrate that he’s not a rake and that he sincerely likes Adeline. And he has to keep a real rake from compromising Adeline. It’s all rather predictable, but still fun.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

This is a fun, cute, quick read. I especially enjoyed that the plot for this book is one I think many of us can actually relate to having been a part of when younger (minus the titles), of liking a guy only to find out a friend liked him first, and working through that. It's a continuation of characters from a previous series, but you are good reading this on its own.

Lord Littleton made a mistake last season, now he is paying for it! He is rich, handsome, and single, normally enough to set all of the debutantes swooning! Not so Lady Adeline, she is determined to dislike his lordship, no matter how much she tingles when touched! I love the Great Dane, as does our heroine, who has wanted a dog since she was little. She refused to think him as a serious suitor due to his being a rake, much less what he did last Season! I love reading a well-written story, where the young ladies behave as they should during the time period, it is certainly more believable!
I highly recommend! Thanks!

This is a great continuation of Ella Quinn's previous series. It also works as a stand alone series as those previous stories are not fully necessary to enjoy this book. I truly did enjoy it and it was great to get Fits' story!

Ms. Quinn has another enjoyable read in her regency era novels. Her writing and character development is delightful. People often believe others, taking only one side of the story, without thinking of the other person's perspective. The truth usually lies somewhere in between the tales. Lady Adeline Wivenly is in her first season, loves animals, the country, and hopes to marry. She is attracted to Fredrick, Lord Littleton, whom her friend has deemed as a rake. Frits knows her did not handle his last courtship attempt well and when he meets the women whom he knows will be his wife, that has an impact on him trying to court Adeline. Frits tries to pursue Adeline whereas she tries to avoid him, but cannot help to accept the dances and outings he asks her on. As Adeline spends more time with Frits, she begins to question about what occurred between her friend and Frits, for she does enjoy his company and she likes him. Does Adeline follow her heart or her loyalty to her friend? Can Frits prove to Adeline is more than just a rake? Read to find out!
