Botched Butterscotch is a cute addition to the series.
Bailey is excited for her parents to visit for Mother’s Day, however, she’s still a bit nervous since her mother isn’t exactly happy that she left the city .
When someone steals the money raised for a local women’s cause, Bailey can’t help but get involved.

I think the idea this time was to make a novella. It is obviously shorter than the other ones of the series. I did like to have a mystery that, for once, was not someone's death, but saying that I did not like the story as much as I liked the rest of the series. It felt superficial and a little lost.

Another visit with the Amish Candy Shop crowd. I'm new to this series and also new to Amanda Flower but I have to say that I love it. The characters are so interesting. Not high brow but just interesting and there is a large variety with a number of animals thrown into the mix. If you're looking for a light-hearted cozy series with the obligatory murder mystery woven in, then I can recommend this series.

Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington Books and Ms. Flower for the ARC. The opinion is all my own.

An entertaining and well written story. The author certainly has away with the written word. I received an arc from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.

Culinary Candy Cozy
Candy maker Bailey King enjoys solving mysteries as much as making candy. When the proceeds of a fund raiser go missing, she gets involved with the blessings of the two local law enforcement officers her boyfriend Deputy Aiden Brody and Deputy Little.
When Deputy Little is assigned the case, they work through the clues and find the thief, one not on the list
I requested and received this cozy from NetGalley. I've enjoyed the series and this short cozy is perfect to make the time enjoyable while waiting.

Bailey is not looking forward to the upcoming weekend, although she is helping cater for a Mother's Day Tea/Fundraiser for Abigail's Farm, a retreat for women are struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. The reason for her uneasiness is a visit from her parents, who left Holmes County as soon as possible and have seldom returned. She knows that they are disappointed in her for, in their words, throwing away her career in New York, for a town that, again in their eyes, never seems to change. But she is hoping to make the most of this visit, even inviting her mother to the tea. The fundraiser seems to be a success until the discovery that the donation monies have been stolen. Can Bailey help Deputy Little solve this crime and what will her parents think of her now if she does meddle in the investigation. I enjoy this series with its varied characters and appreciate how their relationships continue to develop in each book. I also enjoy the various animals that interact with the human characters...hint, there is another new pet introduced in this story! And of course there is the teaser chapter for the next book, that will feature Juliet's wedding. Can't wait! Disclosure: I am voluntarily reviewing this book and all opinions are strictly my own.

Botched Butterscotch was just what I needed to hold me over between the full length Amish Candy Shop Mysteries. In this one, Bailey King is involved in a Mother's Day Tea fundraiser for a local women's support group. Someone takes the money that has been raised, and Bailey feels that it is up to her to find the thief. While she's trying to find the person who absconded with the money, she's also in the middle of a visit from her parents.

I loved having Bailey and her family and friends back in this short book. There was no murder in this one, but it was a charming story. I'm very fond of the characters from the series, and it was great to be back with them in their small Amish village.

This story is fine, I just don’t see how it adds to the series. I prefer short stories that deepen relationships or explore new dynamics.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not paid for this review.

I enjoyed this installment of the Amish candy series. Bailey becomes involved in a mystery about missing money from a fundraiser. Bailey's parents are also in town for a visit. This is a lighter storyline than usual. I didn't realize that this was a novella until I was amost finished. I generally don't like novellas because just about the time I am involved in the story, it is over.

Baileys parent come to visit in this delightful novella with no murders. There's also a fundraiser for a women's shelter that has the money stolen and the head of the shelter immediately assumes it's the work of the Amish.
Bailey doesn't know what happened but is determined to find out amidst Juliet harassing her about her about a wedding to Aiden when she's not even engaged!

I love this series. The premise is charming and the characters are delightful.

We are back in Harvest, OH with Bailey King in this novella. Bailey's parents are in town for Mother's Day and there is a tea planned to raise money for Abigail's Farm, a retreat for woman recovering from addiction. The mystery this time surrounds a theft and not a murder and mention of Juliet and the Reverend's upcoming wedding is a great set-up for the next book in this series.
A fun and entertaining read, as all of Amanda Flower's books are.
Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for this ARC. All opinions and thoughs are my own. This review can be found on my Goodreads page.

Bailey, who is managing her family’s Amish candy store, is a caring and trusted member of the community. On the side she does a little detective work. Bailey’s mother and grandmother are guests at the Mother’s day Tea being held at the church. The tea is a fund raiser for Abigail’s farm, where women recovering from addiction can ease back into society. While Polly Anne, the farm owner, was informing the group of her wish to continue providing assistance to other women at the farm, the funds were stolen. Deputy Little agreed to have Bailey assist in finding the thief. The person who stole the funds from a fund raiser, did it to ease his own financial burden. Polly Anne forgave him, and didn’t press charges, saying, “You would do anything to keep them alive. That’s what I would have done for Abigail of I could have. If money could have saved her I would have stolen it too”. I enjoyed Bailey’s friends, Jethro and Juliet. I’m looking forward to see how the spark of hope Bailey has for Aiden develops.

It is Mothers Day, and in Harvest, Ohio the town is gearing up for a busy weekend. Bailey King is excited for the opportunity to visit with her parents. It has been sometime since they have returned to the Amish community (aside from a brief visit for Bailey's Grandfathers funeral the year before that prompted Bailey to stay in Harvest and change her entire life around). As is the norm in Harvest, Ohio even the most well planned event can result in chaos. At a Mothers Day fundraiser in support of a local farm dedicated to helping the rehabilitation of women battling substance addiction the money raised at the fundraisers goes missing.

In this short novella readers will be entertained once again by the beauty of Harvest and dazzled by the now well known cast of characters. This is a great installment that will keep readers in anticipation for the next full length novel "Marshmallow Malice".

I have said this before, and I will say it again. I fully believe Amanda Flower to be one of the most talented cozy writers today. Each series she creates is just as enjoyable and well developed as the previous. Her character development is strong and after you finish one of her novels you find yourself thinking about the characters and their story-lines well after you have closed the cover of the book.

I look forward to "Marshmallow Malice" and other novels by Amanda in many of her other cozy series'.

I didn't realize when I requested this book that it was not a full-length mystery, but that does not distract from the excellent writing (as always) from Ms. Flower. If you are a fan of this series (and you really should be) you will be pleased to see all of the regulars back, as well as meeting Bailey's parents. The crime in this book is not murder, but theft. Monetary donations are stolen at a women's tea and Bailey begins to investigate, much to the surprise of her mother who knows nothing about her involvement in the investigation of previous crimes in the community. The book is quick, but again, as enjoyable as always. It whets our appetite for the next book, Marshmallow Malice, coming in May of 2020. Only knocked off a star because I always want MORE!

This is a fun novella to tide you over while waiting for the next book in the series. There isn't a murder this time, but a theft of $10000. This is just well written with well developed characters and completely enjoyable.

This is the 4th book in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery Series. I love this series and all the characters!! I really enjoy this series and the mix of Amish and English worlds.

Mother’s Day is a sweet and busy time at the candy shop Bailey King runs with her Amish grandmother. This year is extra special, because Bailey’s parents are visiting Harvest, Ohio. Bailey’s father has rarely returned since leaving the Amish faith over thirty years ago. Bailey takes her mom, grandmother and cousin to the Mother’s Day tea at the church. The tea is set up to help raise money for a local charity. Things take a turn when all the money is stolen.

Before she knows it Bailey is trying to help solve the case and help the charity.

BOTCHED BUTTERSCOTCH by Amanda Flower is an entertaining cozy mystery novella set in Harvest, Ohio. It is number 4.5 in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. This is the first book that I have read in the series and deals with a theft instead of murder.

Bailey King works in her Amish grandmother’s candy store. They have been baking for the Mother’s Day Tea which is a fundraiser for Abigail’s Farm. At the end of the tea, it turns out that the funds have been stolen and Bailey jumps in to help find the thief and recover the missing money.

This was a fun story, but it did not have time for much character development. However, I was definitely rooting for Bailey to be successful. Her goals were clear and her motivations were well-drawn. While I was able to easily determine the culprit, I still enjoyed the novella. I feel that those that are already familiar with the characters will likely be thoroughly entertained despite the lack of complexity. Themes explored were theft, fundraising for charities, family, Amish culture and much more. The book also includes a recipe for one of the desserts served during the Mother’s Day Tea.

Overall, this was a heartwarming, funny, and touching read. I definitely want to read more of this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Thanks to Kensington Books and Amanda Flower for an ARC of this novel via NetGalley and the opportunity to provide an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and are not biased in any way.

A quick novella set with Bailey working her Amish grandmother's chocolate store. All the usual characters from the fun small town are here, so if you have read previous books you will feel at home. This one is short and quick, so an easy afternoon read. No murder this time, but a theft instead. Enjoyable, but wish it would have been a bit longer. Highly recommend this book, series and author.

I love when authors release a short story or novella about some of my favorite characters in between novels, so I was thrilled to find Botched Butterscotch from Amanda Flower on NetGalley. In this book, Bailey King’s parents are visiting Harvest during Mother’s Day weekend. Bailey, her mother, her grandmother and cousin are all attending a Mother’s Day Tea/ Fundraiser at the church, when the $10,000 donated to Abigail’s Farm goes missing. Naturally, Bailey gets involved in tracking down the missing money and the thief. Overall, an enjoyable quick read with the opportunity to finally meet Bailey’s parents. Thanks go to NetGalley and Kensington for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I received a free copy of BOTCHED BUTTERSCOTCH (an Amish Candy Shop Mystery 4.5) by Amanda Flower in exchange for an honest review. This Mother’s Day is going to be especially sweet because Bailey King’s parents are in town. The ladies all celebrate by attending a Mother’s Day Tea fundraiser hosted by the local church, organized by Margot Rawlins, and benefiting a local drug rehab. When the money goes missing, Deputy Little is placed in charge of the investigation with orders to drop the case if it cannot be resolved within the weekend. With the fate of the rehab depending on the money, Bailey informs Deputy Little that she’ll be helping him solve the case. Meanwhile, Juliet embroils Bailey’s mother in her plan to get Bailey and Aiden to the altar.

I recommend this story to fans of the Amish Candy Shop Mysteries. I recommend the entire series to fans of Amanda Flower and to fans of cozy mysteries featuring candy making, Amish culture, television shows, feisty pigs, small towns, small businesses, town events, and gentle guidance by sweet grannies.
