Kristen was hurt by Tyler but is still attracted to him. Tyler didn’t know what he did to Kristen to make her hate him. When she lets her guard down, she sees the man Tyler really is and falls for him. She’s worried when he finds out her secret that he will never be able to forgive her.
This was a heartfelt story. Kristen and Tyler were great together. They found out what a real relationship is by being there for each other. Their relationship grew as they got to know each other. The storyline flowed really well and kept you interested. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it.
Received this book for my honest opinion.

This book was a heartwarming read about second chances with a good, though honestly predictable, twist.

It took me a little bit to get into this book, but once I did I could not put it down. It was a refreshing break from some of the other things I have been reading lately and had a more mature vibe overall.

Yeah, another one i did not enjoy. I see as someone else pointed out in reviews they did not like the use of children and neither did i. Plus i did not feel any chemistry ... They both were sort of...meh-okay at best if i can explain it like that.

A Season to Love is the second book in the Seasons of Northridge series. This book features Kristen, bookstore owner and single mother and Tyler, brewery owner and cancer survivor. Kristen and Tyler are forced to work together on their community’s Economic Development Board (much to Kristen’s dismay). Kristin’s grudge against Tyler runs deep and contains secrets buried deep. Can Kristen overcome her disgruntled feelings towards Tyler and can Tyler ever forgive Kristen for her secrets? Will Kristen and Tyler find happiness or will the secrets destroy them both? ⠀

- I loved the small town setting⠀
- Tyler was a very like-able character⠀
- The story was complex enough to keep you turning pages⠀

𝒲𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝐼 𝒟𝒾𝓈𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒𝒹:⠀
- Kristen was a little annoying and I got tired of hearing about her past ⠀
- The romance scenes were pages long and very skim worthy⠀

Overall, this was a quick and cute fall romance read. Thank you to @netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

I have always hated DNFing books, I tend to struggle through in the hopes that it will get better. But, I’m trying to give myself permission to do so because life is too short and there are too many books to read, so unfortunately this one didn’t make the cut. I thought the writing was ok but the characters and plot just weren’t grabbing me and I found myself getting distracted easily. It just wasn’t for me.

Thank you NetGalley, author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a lovely read! Secret babies can be a difficult sell in this day and age but this one works well. Kristen and Tyler do a good job working on their challenges.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

A Season to Love is a cute book that at times was funny, sad and witty. I've never read anything by this author so I don't know what I was expecting. It isn't anything earth shattering but it wasn't supposed to be. Maybe it was my expectations that are what led me astray. I struggled to finish it, not because it was bad, but because I just wasn't really invested in the characters. I think this had more to do with me and not the book. I just don't think it is the kind of book that I really like to read and that keeps my interest.

A typical romance with likeable characters. Decent, but nothing special.

Kristen is the owner of a bookshop/coffee shop in Northridge, Georgia. Raised in poverty, she has fought her way up to owning a successful business. Tyler is the handsome son of a successful family who has just moved back to town after 17 years.

Kristen harbors a loathing for Tyler and a secret that could shatter them both.

This is a light, entertaining, easy to read romance. It is Book 2 in The Seasons of Northridge series. Although it is a little predictable, I liked the characters and enjoyed the book. If you enjoy small town fiction and strong families, you will like this book. I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley. My review is voluntary.

Kristen felt about Tyler the way he felt about brussels sprouts- intense loathing. The Town Hall conference room serves as the monthly meeting venue for the Northridge Economic Development Council [EDC ]. The town had an active economic developmental council which advised the Town Council on economic developments matters, including business retention and expansion, a new development marketing opportunities and tourism. Tyler was the owner of Firehouse Brews, a local craft brewery, and its sister business The Firehouse tap Room.
Tyler had a vested interest in Northridge’s economic success. Kristen had this rolled-out- of -bed quality that intrigued Tyler. Hair just this side of messy, clothes that seemed an after thought but hugged her curves, little to no accessories. It suited her devil-may-care attitude. For a petite woman, she packed a powerful punch. Kristen asked herself why did he have to join the EDC? Whenever she was in his presence, she felt the familiar push-pull. The shame of the night so many years ago, coupled with the confounding and unwelcome desire to be with him despite it. The desire to keep her secret and the guilt over doing just that. She only recently became a business owner in her hometown of Northridge, having purchased the Bookstore two years ago when Patti Colton had decided to retire and move to Florida. Kristen had put every dime she could put in the business, converting a section of the bookstore into a café, where she could serve fresh baked goods and coffee. She’d also taken out a small business loan and applied for small business grants from the GA Chamber of Commerce. She wanted to prove she could be a success, be independent and unlike her mother, not fall back on a string of questionable relationships and the occasional hookup to make ends meet. And unlike her father, stay out of prison.
A great easy slightly emotional romantic read. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Tyler and Kristen together and how they interacted. I loved how their relationship progressed in this book. I loved that Tyler hadn’t used Kristen and just discarded her so many years ago. I also liked how Tyler stood by Kristen at different times. I really didn’t want to put this book down. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an advanced copy of “A Season to Love” by Rebecca Heflin. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a cozy fall read about the cute little historical town of Northridge. Kristen has to work with Tyler to convince the town to approve a production company’s request to film a movie. While Kristen and Tyler are business owners and can see the economic benefit to allowing the movie to be shot in Northridge, the town committee is reluctant. Kristen and Tyler then have to work together to back up their position. But there’s a big problem as Kristen has a grudge against Tyler and he doesn’t understand what he did to make her hate him.

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the town’s fall festivities. Made me want a giant pretzel really bad. The town definitely felt like it’s own character and there were a lot of interesting people in the community that popped up throughout the story.

This is a second book in a series, but I don’t think you need to read the first one to follow the story. Having not read the first book, I would almost argue that there was a bit too much recap from the events of the first book.

The story is told from both Kristen and Tyler’s perspectives. The POV switched too often sometimes between sentences in a scene. I wish there hadn’t been so much POV switching whiplash.

My biggest issue with this book was that it needed more editing. I found so many typos where the incorrect form of a word was used: two-to, living-leaving, air-hair. I don’t know if this was fixed in the final copy but I hope someone caught all these.

Finally, I feel the page time for certain events needed to be redistributed. There were pages and pages of describing the process of brewing beer or roasting coffee beans. I think that page time was desperately needed at the end. There’s the big revelation and fallout and it didn’t feel like enough page time was devoted to processing the events before the story had to hit the final HEA note.

Overall, I feel this story had a lot of potential but needed more editing. I really liked how the author portrayed the town. The story did pull me along so despite the issues I described above, I did think it was an alright read. Also a very fast read so if you’re looking for a cozy fall vibes romance, pick this book up for a visit to Northridge.

3/5 stars

I didn't not like it, but I didn't love it. I didn't find it compelling. I felt it was rather a cookie-cutter plot, without memorable characters. I skimmed parts because I thought the story had moments that slowed the momentum.

This is the first book that I have read by Rebecca Heflin and I’ve got to say that I really enjoyed the book.

For me, the characters had depth; they were realistic and likeable and this had you instinctively rooting for them!

Kristen, the female protagonist had it hard growing up: her father was sent to prison and her mum was a waste of space. Kristen crushed on Tyler big time - he came from a stable family unit and he was kind to her. Something happened before he left for college, something that made her hostile towards him, upon his return, 17 years later.

My only criticism would be that it felt like parts of the plot were glossed over and not covered and it left me wanting to know more (how things played out).

‘A Season to Love’ was a fast paced, enjoyable read - I became overcome with emotion in places (and tissues would be advised). Prepare to set enough time aside to devour this book in one sitting (like I did).

I wasn't taken by this romance. Tyler works with the heroine and are both assigned to a work project for the town. The heroine despises the hero because he slept with her when she was younger and never called her back. I found it totally unromantic that he never remembered sleeping with her and then has the balls to be mad at her for not telling him about the consequences of that night. I just couldn't get into how out of touch the hero was with the heroine.

The wonderfully written storyline and the well rounded characters kept me turning the pages until the very end! I look forward to reading more from this author!

Okay, this is another one of those books where I loved the H but had some really big problems liking the h. A poor alcohol-induced decision on the part of Tyler just before he left town to go to college compounded by a lot of miscommunication which turned to anger and resentment on the part of Kristen over the results of that night and which she let simmer and brew for seventeen years. It is at this point that Tyler returns to town to establish a business and ends up having to work with Kristen on an economic development committee and is completely baffled as to why she has so much hostility towards him since his memory of that night is non-existent. I'm getting a tad tired of and frustrated with books where 80-90% of the book is "a failure to communicate" when if the couple would just have a healthy discussion, things could have been worked out. Or at least a bridge could have been built towards a better relationship in the future. Of course, that wouldn't make for a very long book that way. lol. I did like the fact that Seth, the teenage son of Kristen and who was unknown to Tyler, was a violin prodigy. That was unusual and could have been expanded on a bit more. I have read other books by this author and enjoyed them quite a bit so I will read more from her in the future.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided to me through NetGalley.

A Season of Love, Seasons of Northridge Book 2, is by award winning author Rebecca Heflin. Set in Northridge, Georgia, outside of Atlanta, this is the story of Beans n’ Books coffee shop and bookstore owner Kristen McKay. Kristen’s life has been anything but easy. She grew up in poverty and everything she now has is of her own doing. She is a business owner, a part-time college student, and single mother to a 16 year old violin protege.

Tyler Kincaide was a hometown fellow who had left for Princeton 17 years prior and had only been home for visits until a year ago. He came home looking rough but has since restored his health, a home and started Firehouse Brews and its partner operation Firehouse Taproom.

Both Kristen and Tyler serve on the Northridge Economic Development Committee, Which is where Kristen’s and Tyler’s paths cross once again. As he seems to barely remember her and she can never forget the night that forever changed her life, her anger bubbles to the surface and she can barely be civil. When the two of them end up researching the impacts of Northridge being a location prospect for future filming in their town, they are thrown together in a way that otherwise would not have occurred. And it is in this time spent together when old information surfaces and secrets emerge that will either bring them together or drive them further apart.

This is a delightful story with endearing characters and themes. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!
