This book had so much promise. I couldn’t put it down...... UNTIL about 60% and then it just died. Like what the heck?!?! So disappointing! I almost DNF but I just kept thinking it has to pick back up, sadly it did not.

I was a huge fan of A Stranger on the Beach so I was SO excited to be approved for an ARC of The Wife Who Knew Too Much.
This one gripped me from the first page; I was immediately sucked into Nina's diary entry. I was equally absorbed by Tabitha and Conner's story, fascinated by the way their outrageous and shitty choices had domino effect after domino effect on other people. I will say though, that towards the end it did get predictable.

WOW I loved this book. It just kept me coming back. Very well written with the background ground of all the characters to go with it. It keep me guessing till the very end!

A page turner for sure. A book that I could not put down. I am a huge fan of this author and she will forever be one whose books I read first

3.5*
A twisty story of love, second chances and oh yes, a hefty dose of betrayal!
Tabitha fell in love with Connor when she was just a teen. Young love, first love. Burning deeply. And poor Tabitha never quite got over it. So years later when Connor comes waltzing into the diner where she works, she feels that love-light still shining brightly. Can she recapture that passion she had? Can her dreams still come true? Well, there is one small problem.... Connor is married! Oops! In fact, he’s married to one of the wealthiest and highly regarded women in society. Oh, this can’t end well. Or will love conquer all and win out!?
I was ridiculously caught up in the first half of this book. Found it absolutely unputdownable! But then it very abruptly changed. The principal characters suddenly became quite unlikable. Or maybe they were all along...and I was just blinded by their actions. Well anyway...I now found it difficult to be on anyone’s side.
The ending was a bit messier than I would have liked, though it did provide plenty of twists.
Did it provide me with the five-star experience I thought I was going to have? Well...no. But still an overall good thriller that fans of Ms. Campbell will still enjoy.
A buddy read with Susanne!
Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and Michele Campbell for an ARC to read and review.

Michele Campbell has the ability to pull her readers in from the very first sentence. She definitely does so with this novel. It is filled with suspense and intrigue. With each character development, you keep thinking you know exactly what is going on, but you probably don't. I enjoyed this book. I liked it better than A Stranger on the Beach.

I love all books by this author and this one was no exception. Great story. Loved it. Such a great book.

This was my first time reading a book by Michele Campbell, and I don’t plan for it to be my last! Great thriller with a quickly moving plot that sucked me in right away and kept me on my toes throughout. Despite the twists and turns, I felt like the author did a good job of keeping things believable. Tabitha wasn’t exactly the brightest crayon in the box at times, which is a trait I sometimes find frustrating in a main character, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend!
Thank you to NetGalley, Michele Campbell, and St, Martin's Press for the ARC!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book early.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one, as Michele Campbell’s books are very hot or miss for me. Happily, this one fell into the hit category.
When I started reading, I was a bit confused as the plot line seemed similar to Stranger on the Beach, which I did not enjoy. However, I very quickly got wrapped up in these new characters. The pacing was fantastic and kept me reading as quickly as I could. The characters were well fleshed out and the mystery kept me guessing. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the dialogue felt stilted and over simplified. Despite that, I tore through this one. A really enjoyable read!

After reading The Stranger on the Beach, Michele Campbell had me hooked. This book was no different. I was immediately hooked. I stayed up late several night just to keep reading it. I would tell myself “one more chapter” but that just continued. I enjoyed the varying POVs which gave a different side to the story. I would definitely recommend this book!

I will rate The Wife Who Knew Too Much a 4/5 stars. Tabitha, a poor girl being raised by her grandparents, meets the wealthy and handsome, Connor, at the elite country club she is working at one summer and it begins a whirlwind, unlikely romance. When Connor's grandmother finds out about his involvement with a local girl, she threatens to cut him and his siblings off from her money if he doesn't end things with Tabitha. Years go by and one fateful evening, Tabitha runs into Connor again while waitressing at a local diner in their hometown. Connor has returned home on business and though she tries to fight it, all the feelings Tabitha once held for him comes rushing back like a flood. One thing leads to another and she ends up sleeping with Connor, who she knows is married to the rich and fabulous Nina Levitt. That one lapse in judgement sets the pace for Tabitha's life to be upended in ways she never would have imagined. When Nina turns up dead, Tabitha must fight for her life and freedom as Nina's death is pinned on her.
What I enjoyed about this book:
It was a very intriguing storyline. I liked the backstory between Connor and Tabitha as teenage lovers. The author really showed the difference between being wealthy and poor and how families on both ends would try to keep the two young lovebirds a part. This book is very action packed from the beginning. You have love, sex, angst, murder, greed, attempted murder, stalking, and more throughout the pages of the book.
What I didn't like about this book:
Tabitha really frustrated me a lot. Now, while I understand her love for Connor. She really didn't know him as an adult to be so willing to believe every single word that he told her. The sex must've really been exceptional or she was really naïve, one. I found myself at times saying aloud, "You're so stupid". If Connor could cheat on Nina with her, why wouldn't she believe that he would cheat on her with someone else?
I felt that the story was dragged a little towards the ending. Once we knew who was behind Nina's murder, it didn't have to be drawn out anymore. Just get to the good stuff and end the book. It is that simple.
Overall, this was a good read. I will be recommending this book to those who like mysteries. Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Love love love this author. Another great read. Thank you for the early release copy. I read it super quickly and it stuck with me. This will
definitely be another popular book by Campbell. You please keep them coming. I’m trapped in my house from corona virus. Couldn't think of a better way to go pass time. Loved it.

Instant trouble when a woman reconnects with her teenage love many years later. She goes in way over her head.
Storyline is good, convoluted plot kept me turning the pages. But, the narrative and the dialogue leave something to be desired. Some of the dialogue is just too simple. Sometimes cringeworthy. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending....it was over the top.
Conclusion: readable, good for a beach read or an airplane read. It's the type of book I would chose when I need something fast and entertaining.

This book is everything! I love a good second chance romance trope, and this is a wonderful telling of such a romance where things aren’t exactly as they seem. Young lovers Connor and Tabitha were torn apart by their family members years ago. Now, Connor has found himself living a luxurious life of the rich and famous. But a seemingly random encounter years later and a night spent together will chance the course of their lives forever! I was hooked on this story from the first page and by the end, I was dying to know how things happened. I honestly couldn’t guess what was going to happen through most of this book! This is definitely going to be one of my favorite thrillers is 2020!

This was my first book by Michele Campbell but I was hooked from the beginning. It was full of twists and turns and an ending I didn’t expect. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I absolutely loved this twisty and suspenseful novel! The story grabbed me from the first page and I literally couldn’t stop reading, anxious to find out what happened next. There were many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I’m a big fan of this author and grateful for the opportunity to have read this exciting book!

With all the craziness going on at the moment, it was nice to escape in a good book. I’ll be honest, I took my time reading this one due to my own lack of connection. Looking back, I really loved the beginning of this book and the ending. While needed for the story, I think the middle of the book was my least favorite part (just too many details that weren’t needed in my opinion). I hope when this book is released in June, I can read it again with a better frame of mind.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much is the first book that I've read by Michelle Campbell. It starts off with a bang with Nina's diary entry stating "My husband is planning to kill me. For obvious reasons. He's in love with someone else. And he wants my money." How could you not be compelled to keep reading after a beginning like that? As the book progressed, it became predictable at times and the main characters weren't likeable. Tabitha was very naive and Conner simply interested in money. Despite this, I think the book well written and it kept me interested enough to keep reading until the end.

2.5 Stars for The Wife Who Knew Too Much , by Michele Campbell .
This started off quite interesting but quickly became more of a romance novel with a fairly week storyline for me. I lost interest early into the book. I could not emphasise with the characters at all
Just not my style of book, but thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and the Author for an early copy in exchange for my review

Wow! Loved this suspenseful tale of love, and glamour, and money, and deceit, and murder! Tabitha and Connor have a true love but also have major obstacles to overcome, such as Connor's incredibly wealthy older wife, and a mysterious friend from Connor's college years. Michele Campbell takes her readers on a ride full of twists and turns, and ends the book with an unpredictable and satisfying ending. I read this book in record time, and highly recommend it to all mystery lovers!
Thank you, NetGalley for letting me read this fun book!
