Revenge is sweet...and salty.
Extremely pissed off mafia don (aren't they all) is reincarnated as his favorite animal - a shark - and vows vengeance on anyone involved in his brutal murder (who wouldn't?).
If you have a soft spot for campy, gory horror flicks, this is for you! (Think Child's Play meets Jaws!)

This was a lot of morbid fun!

Not as scary or gruesome as I was hoping it would be .it was trying to be like a horror movie but just didn't make the cut .

i loved the concept of a mobster becoming a shark, it was so much fun and had a great horror story. I really enjoyed reading this book.

This book would've gotten 1 star if not for this piece of dialogue, which deserves a star all by itself:

[Context: a bunch of mostly Italian gangsters are watching surveillance footage from the murder of one of their own, the atmosphere is somber and serious]

It was frozen by the press of a button into a large, ghastly, and inhuman portrait.

"What the fuck is that?" someone in the audience asked.
"A smudge on the lens?" another man answered.
"No, it can't be"
"It looks like a shark, kind of" a different observer suggested.
"Or a cannoli."
"Whoever said that," an authoritative voice in the darkness growled, "keep your fucking mouth shut."

PRICELESS.

The above is actually a pretty good example of the tone of the book: you shouldn't take it too seriously, I know I stopped when the shark is revealed to have a FACE and also able to TALK. This isn't a serious book of horror, it's just schlock, but honestly, I don't think anyone expected ~serious~ literature from reading the blurb alone.

The story is pretty predictable, the writing is simplistic and has no personal touches (it's very "anonymous", this could have been written by anyone in the world), and the editing needed some SERIOUS work, there were mistakes all over the place. I don't think the book is forgettable, but even as schlock it could have been better.

Somewhat odd and unbelievable, but enjoyable nonetheless. I found myself laughing incredulously at some parts.

This book was different from anything I've read. It was a bizarre journey into imagination. There is some blood and gore but I found it hard to be terrifying, it was hilarious due to the disbelief factor.

It made me laugh out loud and totally distracted me, not sure this was the authors intention, but it was a fun distraction

A light horror book written against the backdrop of a gangster seeking revenge. I liked the book. It was an easy read and an enjoyable one.

This book reminds me in many ways of one of Hunter Shea's bizarre adventures. At least the writing style reminds me strongly of his.

It is better for the reader to suspend their belief system for this short little ride (96 pages), into the ridiculous. I was chuckling at the absurdity of it all. But I still liked the silly little story. Watch out for those sharks – especially the talking ones!!

I want to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for forwarding to me a copy of this goofy little book for me to read, laugh over and review.

The blurb pretty much sums up this book.

I don't feel like I can add much more without spoilers.

I will say the beginning sucked me in, after that it got a little silly, I kept reading hoping it would get better.

If you like horror stories with humanoid fish and some blood and guts, give this one a shot. Just leave any semblance of belief at the door.

This wasn't a bad story, it just wasn't entirely for me.
