This first book in the new series of Forgotten Brotherhood does indeed unleash itself in a big way.
It brings us Morrigan Quill the bounty hunter & Maccus Fury the fallen angel working as an assassin who has serious control issues. Add in Archangel Gabriel who is not what you’d expect especially in his hook up with Lucifer & you have the start of a great plot. Just to add to all of that they are contracted to kill each other!
I loved Morrigan & her “take no s**t” attitude. She really challenged Maccus despite his surly demeanour & scary reputation. It was a good read, keeping me with them right to the end.
Great cover that really represents Maccus & the promise of what you are going to get from the book.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series as I just wanted this world to continue.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy & this is an honest review.
I would without doubt have bought this book anyway as I have enjoyed other series by this author & this has all the signs of being another winner.

I love PNR.. it’s probably my favorite sub genre. Writing a book about demons, vampires, shifters etc. I am in to it!! I loved the premise of this, adding Lucifer and Gabriel, the fallen angel vibe. But this book called for skimming. I needed more world building, more details,. The characters internal monologues all sounded the same. There wasn’t a noticeable difference. This book had some great threads that if developed properly could really turn into an amazing series. Over all this book was ok but gosh it could have been so much more..

**I received a copy of Fury Unleashed by N. J. Walters from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are mine alone and not solicited in any way.**

Fury Unleashed by N. J. Walters is one kick a** book and I wonder how did I not read anything before by this author? Holy Cow this book will suck you in with the push and pull by Gabriel and Lucifer and their quest to get rid of both Maccus and Morrigan and then spit you out on the other side! I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars as its worthy of so many more. I can't wait for the next book just on the basis of the teaser at the end of the story.

Morrigan Quill is not only one of Hell's bounty hunters she's also a very good one and is counting down the time left in her contract with Lucifer. See she sold her soul to keep you younger sister safe but little does she know that things are not only going to change with her contract to kill Maccus Fury, yep you guessed it that little sister... May not be as innocent as she thinks. When Gabriel gives Maccus a contract for Morrigan it doesn't take much to start thinking that one fallen angel and one bounty hunter are going to fall for each other all while trying to figure out why Heaven and Hell want them dead. I'm not going to say anything more because I don't want to spoil the story so you'll just have to read it.

This was a nice detour from my usual genre and a new to me author. I enjoyed the angel/demon component but wished there had been more of everything. Heavily skimmed from 35% to 70% with no loss. Thanks for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This one started out with a bang.. literally. But slowly made its way to a fizzle. Couldn’t connect with the characters at all.

Ok I have to start by mentioning that beautiful cover because obviously it snagged my attention because it's gorgeous ! I've not read a lot by this author so it was quite nice to find this book which is the first in this new series pitting heaven against hell or does it ? You see it begins with fallen Angel Maccus being given a contract from Archangel Gabriel to kill Morrigan but then Morrigan who is a bounty hunter for hell is instructed by Lucifer to kill Maccus ! Confused ? Well you might not be but both Maccus and Morrigan refuse to be pawns in this unholy game.
What on earth can I say about this without giving away too much ? Morrigan has learned to be tough but there's a huge part of her that is good and she so wants to believe that others can be redeemed. Maccus is absolutely pure cave man and his reactions to Morrigan are intense and downright carnal ! It's easy to dislike Lucifer because he's manipulative and cruel but the big surprise for me was Gabriel because I honestly hadn't expected his motives. This is steamy but it's also really about trust and learning to love. It was a story with surprises and an ending that made me smile but it leaves the way clear for other characters to get well and truly caught up in the cross hairs as powerful beings seek to redress the balance between good and evil.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Let me just say that this book was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! Seriously so good and I already want to read the next one! Maccus & Morrigan are fire! 🔥
He's a fallen angel. She's a demon hunter badass. They both have just been assigned to kill the other. Only one can survive. The odds are against them and the bets have been placed. Lucifer and Gabriel are both vying for their sides. Heaven & Hell have rolled the dice and neither side won't accept failure.
This book hit the ground running! I literally was pulled in and couldn't stop. This book is the best of its kind...Hard to put down!! Fans of Donna Grant and Christine Feehan, this is right up your ally. Also Lucifer literally cracked me up in parts. I'm excited too see where his story goes...

Thank you Entangled: Amara and NetGalley for giving me a chance to read this eARC.

Maccus is a fallen angel and Morrigan is a bounty hunter for Lucifer. The two are contracted to hunt and kill each other but instead…these two fall in major lust for one another. But when they find out there is something else going on between Lucifer and Gabriel the ones who put on the hit for Maccus and Morrigan.

What I Liked:
*It has all the things I like in an urban fantasy – the modern setting with fantasy elements, in this story it being the world of angels. I’m a sucker for a fallen angel story! There is action, a fight for world domination, prophecy, sex, and love.

*Morrigan who is a bounty hunter for Lucifer and I like a woman with power. She kicks butt and the way she became a bounty hunter, unfortunately, shows she has a big heart. She has to make some very hard decisions about her sister in the end, but

*Maccus is the full on bad-ass fallen angel character who has a scary rep. He definitely showed his skills in the bedroom! 😜 And have you seen the cover of this book? Hot.

*I liked how Gabriel’s characters went “out of character” with how he is usually depicted in angel lore.

Things That Made Me Go Hmm:

*Prepare for a lot of sex scenes! Their attraction was basically INSTANT and they definitely didn’t waste time getting it on.

*It was predictable, I don’t think many of the twists surprised me but it was still enjoyable. At times I think Lucifer and Gabriel were much more interesting than Maccus and Morrigan. But Lucifer is already a fascinating character in biblical aspects. Gabriel is more of a character you can play around with – he is known as a very power archangel and I’ve seen many different takes about him. One of the more popular one being how he wants more power like in this book.

*Trigger: There was one moment where Morrigan recounted their sex session and she says she thought he was going to kill her because his hands were around her throat during the act. 😮 He didn’t hurt her – but him doing that had her life flash before her eyes though she thought the sex was amazing. If that’s your kink…hey…you do you!

Final Thoughts:

Overall it was a quick read. Though Maccus and Morrigan connect on a physical level right away, they eventually fall for each other. I liked Morrigan and her sister’s storyline, and the story asking the question how far would you go for the ones you love. If you like urban fantasy with fallen angels and bounty hunters from Hell, you might like this one.

Amazing start to a new Walters' series. Heaven/Gabriel is ordering a hit on Morrigan Quill who is a bounty hunter for HELL. Lucifer is ordering her to kill Maccus a Fallen Angel and a Hunter himself. When they meet is is not steel that slashes but their hearts that get the arrow. Lots of in depth building of the main characters and their back stories. Oh yeah lots of action too. Not exactly a cliff hanger but a want from this reader to know what comes next. "A copy of this book was provided by Entangled via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

Interesting start to a new series. Took me a little bit to get into the world building but after that, it had my attention. I hope to see this couple again as the series continues. Loved the author's twist on Gabriel--different look at him. Lucifer was spot on in my head.

Looking forward to reading more!

Maccus, fallen angel, assassin. Morrigan, demon bounty hunter who gave up her soul to keep her little sister safe. Both charged to kill the other. Good mystery story, lots of action, nice vengeful finish.

Maccus is quite insatiable, “now,” he continued as though he hadn’t just hauled her around like a sack of grain, “we have ***. And this time, we go slowly.” I liked this book, I liked Maccus
