I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.
I've read many, if not all, of Tsukiyama's Japan-related books and was excited to delve into this one, which is set in Hawaii. This is the kind of story that many will enjoy because it includes, romance, strong women characters, history, geology and depicts an interesting time in Hawaiian history and ethnic relations. It reads smoothly and I hope that a sequel is in the works.
