A wonderful storyline. A great lead character. A trying moment that tests the lead to move forward. A fun read.
2.5 stars.
It was trying too hard to be fun and Annie`s fixations was boring and awkward at most. James was boring and uinteresting.
Simple, pretty basic little romance enjoyable for the time I was reading but nothing to grip me and make me want to shout about it. The characters were pleasant but I didn’t feel a strong chemistry, just a convenient work place romance.
I enjoyed this book, but found it a bit uneven, It follows a year in the life of a first year teacher, Annie. It has a nice mix of light, laugh-out-loud moments and more serious ones.
It Started With A Miss is a perfect beach read. A quick and easy read that doesn’t require much brain power (in a good way!) and will pull you in and leave you smiling ear to ear!
I enjoyed this book! Easy beach read that was fun, flirty, and full of personality! I did think there were a few gaps in the plot that left a lot of unanswered questions for me.

Thank you to Netgalley, Lara Golden, and Inkubator Books for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!!
I found this story to be enjoyable, and the characters easy to like, but something was just missing for me. It was a little but all over the place and it just didn’t wow me. I enjoyed the teaching aspect and Annie’s belief in her students!
If you’re looking for an entertaining, quick read pick it up!!!
Quick and easy read for the summer - not overly complex or challenging but definitely enjoyable. One to read for a bit of escapism
This was a fun, quick and easy read. I enjoyed the characters and look forward to reading more from the author!
Really enjoyed this book. Steady paced, great characters, I was absorbed throughout. Will be reading more Golden books in the future!
Fun read! I enjoy beach reads during the summer- quick, easy, fun, and flirty. This was definitely like that! New teacher Annie is relatable and this is a cute romantic comedy.
A book that started with promise, but never quite got going, and the ending seems slapped on when the word count was reached. Only finished it because I thought it must be going to improve. But it never did.
This is a DNF book for me unfortunately. The cover and blurb grabbed me, but I was disappointed with the lack of pace and action within the first few chapters and didn't really relate to the main character - she seemed very one dimensional.
I got up to 25%.
It is Annie’s first year as a high school teacher, and this is the story about the ups and downs both professionally and personally.
To be honest, I didn’t really enjoy this one. The premise was a good one, however it just missed the mark for me..
I had high hopes for this book and I liked it but didn't love it. My daughter us studying to be a teacher and I thought this would be interesting to read, but it just wasn't what I had hoped it would be. Too many story lines left dangling.
Really enjoyed the storyline in this book. Have had a reading slump recently and this got me going again. Look forward to reading more from this author
I really wanted to like this book. In the end there were just too many questions unanswered, storylines not cleaned up, and characters had so much more potential.
The start was enjoyable but gradually the story became too all over the place. I had a hard time grasping it and just couldn't connect to the characters. My opinions are solely my own though, I believe someone younger, and who hasn't read as many contemporaries as I have, would enjoy it.
I picked this book honestly because the cover looked interesting.
It has a lot going on. Annie is an English teacher, during her first year in Dublin who is trying to do what every first year teacher does, make a difference in their student's lives.
I struggled with this book. It is supposed to be a romantic comedy but I think because I am an American and the author is British, or atleast it seems that way. The humor in America is different that that in Britain. This wasn't a bad read, but I can't say that I will recommend this book. I struggled with it too much.
I am however very appreciative to NetGalley & Inkubator Books for the opportunity to read this ARC book.
This was an intersting read. I wanted more from it so I was kinda disappointed but that's alright. can't win 'em all.
