I already have a few of Wanda Brunstetter's cookbooks and love them all. Her recipes are very user friendly using ingredients that are pantry staples for most of us. If you are looking for a gift for a new bride, a graduation gift or even for someone just learning to cook or trying to expend their cooking options, you cannot go wrong with a Wanda Brunstetter cookbook. They are also a snapshot into Amish life for those of us who actually read cookbooks too.

I only have a sample of this. It is collection of recipes, tips, and stories from Amish cooks. There is recipes that has some hard to find items in grocery stores. I grown up on a farm, and I now have a very big garden and thinking about getting farms animals soon. I cannot wait to try some of these recipes. I have already pre-ordered the book. The recipes is simple which I love. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher or author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a sample of Wanda E. Brunstetter’s Amish Friends Farmhouse Favorites Cookbook. The recipe look easy to make and definitely good old comfort food. There are several color pictures to see the finished dishes. I especially like the home remedy section.

I could not get this sample from the cookbook, but never could get it to open. However, that will not stop me from getting this cookbook when it’s published. I have several of Wanda’s cookbooks and have loved using them. I’m sure this one will be as great as the others.

Wanda E. Brunstetter, creator of Amish Friends Farmhouse Favorites Cookbook, is an award-winning author that specializes in the Amish romance category, and has sold more than 10 million books.
Amish Friends Farmhouse Favorites Cookbook contains recipes submitted by Amish cooks from around the world. There are color photos of the Amish lifestyle and of some of the recipes but not for every recipe. I have seen some of the recipes, or very similar, in other Amish cookbooks and online recipe databases but that is to be expected because the recipes have undoubtedly been passed around among the Amish for years because they are so good.
Some of the recipes use specialty items like spelt flour, coconut flour, cheese powder and stevia. And some use convenience items like canned soups, canned fruits and bottled juices. The number of servings are not listed but it is obvious from the amount of ingredients listed that some recipes are meant to feed a crowd.
Two recipes that I found especially interesting is Farmer’s Dust, which is a spice blend that can be substituted for seasoned salt, and Salad Krispies. Those sound like they’d be an interesting replacement for croutons on a salad. The book even includes a chapter entitled “Home Remedies and Tips”.

Can I just make all the recipes?? This is a great cookbook - loaded with not only recipes but home ailment recipes as well as so much more! Definitely check this book out but don’t read while hungry!!!

I have tried several recipes from this Cookbook...and they are really good. Looking forward to making more dishes. Highly recommended.

The sample of the book was too small to be able to fully appreciate the author’s work. Pictures were nice, and that all I can say so far.

NetGallery very graciously sent me an advance copy of this book for my honest review. Corona virus has me cooped up in the house now for weeks and I have had to temporarily close my office....soooooo, aside from reading, I have been cooking and baking non-stop. When I saw this book listed, the title and cover sparked my interest, especially since I grew up in the midwest (Ohio) where there are pockets of Amish communities. The recipes in the book are attractively displayed, some looked yummy - a few I've earmarked to try. Some are virtually identical to some of my own favorites. I will, however, be making some substitutions. Not surprisingly, there is a heavy hand on the lard, bacon, and meat and dairy mixtures - none of which I use in my kitchen, but many other readers may not have the same reservations. I am quite adept at using alternative ingredients when i see a winning recipe that I would like to try - and I found many, particularly in the salads, breads and rolls, and desserts. Sometimes I switch the Meat and sometimes I switch the Dairy, where necessary. I was more than a little surprised to find a heavy hand on powdered/granulated spices and a great deal of powdered Ranch Dressing. Somehow, I thought that having been brought up on a farm, WEB and her Amish Friends would have used a lot more fresh herbs - I know I do. Whatever, I don't have in my garden, I pick up at the Greengrocer down the street..

I just love the recipes and they taste amazing. The recipe steps were well explained and easy to follow.

The sample of this cookbook was wonderful. The recipes sounded delicious and the pictures were beautiful. This cookbook would make a great gift. Thank you Barbour Publishing via NetGalley for the ARC sample of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Nostalgic photos of farmland along with memories from growing up make this a cookbook that some will probably love. For me, the sample was not a good judge of what was in the book. What I did see did not have enough photos, and seemed similar to recipes I already had.

I love Amish cookbooks. The recipes are always simple and they are usually comfort food at their best. I loved this sample of Wanda E. Brunstetter's Amisth Friends Farmouse Favorites Cookbook. Pretty much every recipe sounded delicious and I can't wait to get into the kitchen and make many of them, particularly the desserts. I will definitely be getting the full version when it comes out in August.

the book has more than 200 pages and is divided in section: recipes for breakfats, for beverages and snacks, for salads, for soups, for desserts and so on.
the book has an useful index, country and farm images of farmliving, images of some recipes.
the recipes are well written, are simple, all with healthy ingredients.
Useful cookbook, I reccomend it.

I received a sample copy of this book and even though it wasn't the full version it was still worth the read! There are many good recipes with lots of colour photos! I can't wait to read the whole thing and start trying out some of these recipes!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC for an honest review.

Wanda Brunstetter's Amish Friends Farmhouse Favorites Cookbook has some great recipe ideas and some great quotes at the beginning of each section. I especially look forward to trying some of the drinks, like homemade hot cocoa. I also saw some casseroles that I would love, if I can get my family to get adventurous and try some too! The recipe I am most excited for, though, is chicken salad. I make chicken salad myself and enjoy it. Somehow, though, in almost every Amish fiction story that I read, there is chicken salad. I have always wondered how they make it. Now, I have a recipe I can try! I am looking forward to it. While I am off work these next few weeks, I may give it a try! If you enjoy making new things, then you will definitely want to check this sample of her new cookbook out!
I received a free copy of this story from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Lovely sample of Wanda E, Brunsetter's new Amish cookbook! There is so much more than just recipes in this book. I look forward to trying some of these recipes!

This was just a sampling of the book's contents, but I must say the recipes not only look wonderful, with great pictures, but the recipes, given, are very good. Every day ingredients, for the most part, or easily substituted with what I have in my pantry. I don't have to shop for ingredients that I will never use again. A good cookbook for the new bride or the person living on their own for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed this sampler and look forward to the full version.

This was a sample of Wanda Brunstetter’s Amish Friends Farmhouse Favorites Cookbook. If you love to cook, or especially enjoy Amish cooking, you will enjoy this beautiful cookbook.
The book is filled with over 200 very appetizing recipes, stories, quotes, and beautiful pictures of various dishes.
There are recipes for meals, cooking tips, household ideas, and barnyard and gardening tips as well.
This is a very insightful look into the cooking in the Amish lifestyle. I’m looking forward to trying many of these recipes.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Before starting this review, it is important to note that this is based upon a digital sample I received and not the full, physical version. Still, just based upon what I DID receive, this is certainly one that I am going to want to add to my own cookbook collection, as I am sure many of you will as well.
This cookbook, like Wanda E. Brunstetter's previous cookbooks, is much more than just recipes. Inside you will find stories from the farm, interesting cooking and farm tips, and yes, of course delicious recipes. And I love every last bit of it! Growing up, we often had cookbooks from various community groups--- do you know the ones I mean? Each recipe was submitted by different people of the community... and as such, these were tried and true recipes that REAL people, not professional chefs had shared. These often became some of my favorite cookbooks to turn to--- especially for baked goods--- because they truly were ideal for anyone. This cookbook reminds me so much of those.... each recipe from someone new. And the recipes included? Fantastic! They are easy to follow and recreate... and bring you a little taste of on the farm cooking no matter where you are.
Again, receiving only a sample and a digital one at that, my view of the actual layout was a bit limited. From what I could see of the photography, it was absolutely gorgeous--- though my Kindle Paperwhite is black and white only so I can only imagine how all of it looks in full color. (You CAN see a few examples via Amazon too). I am a very visual person and love cookbooks with full color images, so that is certainly a plus. Again, I cannot wait to see the whole thing in color and person as it is intended.
Overall, this is a fantastic cookbook and one that every Wanda E. Brunstetter fan, OR just those who enjoy a good ol' fashioned cookbook, is sure to enjoy!
**I received a complimentary sample of this book from the publisher via Netgalley for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.
