I had a different vision about this book. It was a big disappointment. The book is just telling what the bible says in short and the little information it offers could easily be found on the internet, you don’t have to buy the book.

WELCOME TO YOUR BIBLE is broken down into sections that will help the reader as he/she reads and studies. I like the way it is set up so the reader can start from the first month of the year (Jan.) and start reading and studying the first chapter of the first book of (Gen.) It even tells what that chapter will be about. Take for instance, in (Num. 11:19-20). It talks about FULL TO THE NOSE. "And how the Israelites complained to Moses that they had no meat to eat-" and how the Lord was angered in (Exod. 16:15, 31). So in (Num. 11:31) And what The Lord did and kept His promise.

This book also talks about the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized by John. You can read about it in (Matt. 3:13). And the (Anakims), a tribe of giants, descended from (Anak). In (Num. 13:28, 33; Deut. 9:2). or, Kirjath-arba (Josh. 14: 12-15).

I also like the way the second section of this book about the Old Testament is set up with BOOKS OF HISTORY, and the pictures at the beginning of it. I love reading and studying the historical writings. That is why I love reading my Bible all the time. There are so many wonderful stories that I read over and over again. There was this one battle in Aijalon where Joshua battled five Amorite Kings. And, something happened during this great battle. (Josh. 10:12-13). Ajalon: Josh. 19:42. This is a great book to read and follow along in the Bible. I really like it!

Have you ever wanted to read your Bible with an in-depth overview of what is happening while you are reading? It seems like we could all use a helpful resource like that to understand it a bit more. Take a look at this book “Welcome To Your Bible” by George W. Knight. It is a book that is broken down into daily readings and then commentary for what you’ve just read.

I feel that this book would be a great book to have to accompany your reading in the Bible. I love this because it gives a synopsis on what just happened in what you read. You might be able to think of this book as cliff notes. I also believe this book would help you understand the Bible a bit more and maybe even help you connect with God on a deeper level.

I wasn't a fan of how the Bible is divided up by days. "Welcome to Your Bible" does have some helpful resources and interesting illustrations but there are better options out there.

This book has some nice features that would make it an excellent help for a new believer as they begin to study their Bible. The notes are readable, concise, and help explain the background of the passage that’s being read, I can also see this being used in a class as an overview of the Bible. I’m keeping this book in mind as a gift for someone who is new to Bible study.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Nice addition to your Bible reference books. Even though it is written to be a daily Bible study guide it is a great resource to look up particular events for a simple breakdown and explanation. I wouldn't use this exclusively, but it is a very good reference resource or guide to simple daily Bible studies. While I have by no means completely read the book, (it's a 365 day guide to reading the entire KJ Bible, I have enjoyed the use of the e book.
I was provided an Advanced reader copy of the book and was under no obligation to provide a review. The opinions expressed are my own.
Thanks to the author, Barbour Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

I found this book to be perfect for new believers and a valuable reference for those who are already seasoned Bible readers. Author George Knight offers 365 segments so that, each day of the year, there is selected Bible scripture, a summary of that scripture, and information that explains it even more. In one year it is possible to read the entire Holy Bible and to better understand God's Word. I especially like that Knight shares extra details about the customs and culture that relate to the times mentioned and that there are some lovely colored illustrations throughout the book.

Welcome to Your Bible is a wonderful resource and I recommend it to all who long to increase their knowledge and deepen their understanding of God's Word.

Love this Bible reading / Bible study book. It would make an excellent daily reading plan. But it would also make a great guide for Bible study or for a teacher preparing their lesson. This book divides the Bible into daily reading portions, and includes an outline summary for that portion as well as easy understandable definitions and explanations for key terms. I have studied the Bible for all my adult life (30 years) and I still learned things from this book. So I highly recommend this book.

To show what I mean about a good book for Bible study or for lesson prep, I’m going to share a couple of quotes.
-Hardness of heart: a symbolic expression for rebellion or a stubborn unyielding spirit
-signs represented God’s presence with His people
-Idolatry is anything that comes between the believer and God
-Burnt offering: meat sacrifice consisting of an unblemished animal that was totally consumed by fire

Honestly I received an electronic copy but would love to have a printed copy so I could highlight and refer back easier.

This is an interesting resource. I'm just not sure who would benefit most from it. Dividing it up by days made it hard to find the book I wanted to study, since I didn't start at January 1st. The notes about the book of James were very rudimentary. I feel like a person would have understood most of the content just from reading the Bible text. This was more of a very brief summary of each major section. In fact, I would expect people to skip the reading of the text and just read the summary, especially if they wanted to save time. Maybe it would help new Christians who had never read through the Bible before and needed help understanding the KJV. But I personally wouldn't recommend those people trying to read through the entire Bible in one year right off the bat.

(I received this book for free from the publisher. I was not compensated for this review. All opinions are my own, as was my decision to write a review.)

This book is nothing like I expected it to be. The information is quite informative but I don't see it being a great addition to me. But the concept behind it is nice.

Excellent book. From daily Scripture readings to explanations of passages, this book is great for individual study or use in a group setting. The descriptions of the stories in the Bible help the reader understand and learn more about the Bible. A “must have” to add to your Bible learning library.

This is a great book written as a 365-day devotional. Each day gives the scriptures to be read, then explanation of the verses, as well as background about people, places, and events relevant to those scriptures.

You will definitely want this learning tool to help you in your growth in the Lord.

I recommend this to all who love reading the Word.

Wow!

This is an important work on bible study.

In this study Bible, the author helps the reader go through the entire Bible in an year, and at the same time helping them to dive deeper as to what the Bible says in each particular section.

Another thing that I loved about this book is that the author doesn't try to push through to the reader his specific viewpoint of theology, but rather just says what the Bible says,

This study Bible book is suitable especially to those believers who are young in the faith, as it will enable them to not only go deeper in their daily devotions, but also aspire to go and learn more about God, and His teachings as revealed in the Scriptures.

Highly recommend it.

P.S. Considering the length of the book, (proper reading can take over an year as it is a study Bible) I did not read the entire book, but rather just perused it on various sections.

First sentence: Welcome to your Bible—whether you’re brand-new to the faith or you just know you need to dig deeper. Christian growth is based on a clear understanding of God’s Word, so Welcome to Your Bible is designed to help you read and understand scripture. This book combines a variety of features that will guide you systematically through the Bible, providing helpful background information on people, places, and things, as well as explanations of confusing words, ideas, or practices.

The premise of this one is super-simple:

"Welcome to Your Bible is based on a one-year reading plan that divides the Bible into 365 segments, each taking approximately 15 to 20 minutes to read. These Bible portions are then summarized to enhance your memory of the passages, and dictionary-style entries elaborate on the important characters and other details of the passage you read. When the Bible passage includes an unusual concept or practice, a brief article provides the necessary historical context for understanding."
I would recommend this one to anyone who genuinely wants to read through the Bible cover to cover, perhaps in a year--perhaps a little longer. It is organized around a Bible-In-A-Year reading plan. But if you don't stick to the schedule, well, who is really going to know?!

There is a summary for every single chapter of the Bible--sometimes broken down into passage summaries of chapters.

There are introductions to the sections and genres of Scripture.

After the daily summaries, additional helps are included to help readers understand the context of what they've just read. The helps might focus on key people, key places, key words, key concepts or themes. Occasionally these helps are more expansive and become more of an article than a definition.

I would definitely recommend this one. I enjoyed reading it!

Welcome to your Bible by George W Knight is a book every Christian should read regardless of how long they’ve been a Christian if they do not have a daily habit of reading their Bible or do not know how to read their Bible.

Welcome to Your Bible is designed to help you read and understand scripture.

I love the annual reading plan and I found the passage-by-passage summaries and the explanations of confusing words and allusions very helpful.
This book is based on the King James Version but can be used with any translation.
This book would make a great gift for a newly saved Christian and would be a great resource to have in every Church library.
