Zoey and Miles are ghostwriters for rival companies that specialize in helping clients navigate the world of online dating. They also fight over the same table in a cafe every day, and don’t know the other’s identity or that they are rivals. Suddenly worlds collide when their clients are matched - will they figure out who is behind the other profile and realize that maybe they DON’T hate each other?

This was a cute and light read! It did take a bit longer than normal for me to feel invested in the story (but honestly, that could be Animal Crossing’s fault). I also didn’t feel like one of the plot lines mattered all that much to the story (the rivalry between the companies). But all in all once I was invested, I really liked the characters and was totally rooting for the HEA. Definitely pick this one up - especially if you love rom coms!

Thank you to the publisher for the advance copy! All opinions are my own!

This was the perfect blend of an enemies-to-lovers and mistaken identity trope. It was a fun rom-com type novel that could totally be made into a movie. I thought the writing was a good mix of e-mails conversations/ online chats. The mix made it realistic, especially given the MC's jobs as online ghostwriters for dating sites.

Zoey sounds delightful. I love her connection with Mary as kind of a surrogate mother/daughter relationship. And her back story was different from any I've read before in a romance novel, so two thumbs up there.

Miles was great. I loved his relationship with his parents and his cousin. I adored how sure he was of himself and what he wanted in the future. It was a nice change that he was more of a hopeless romantic than Zoey.

Overall, this was a really fun read. I loved the setting, the characters, and of course, the grand gesture. I would definitely recommend to a friend and can't wait to read more by the author.

Zoey has just moved from LA to New York & can’t even convince herself to branch out beyond her block. Miles was just dumped by his fiancé, living on his best friends couch. Both of them work crafting words for dating sites, hoping to help them find true love- even if they aren’t looking for love themselves.

They run into each other at a coffee shop, fighting for the one good table in the local coffee shop with WIFI – Unbeknownst to each other their clients are speaking to each other, through them. Will it be a perfect match?

The premise of the two competitive ghost writing companies with the newly divorced CEOs was different and added something special to the story for me.

The two POVs and the setup of the staff emails between really made for an enjoyable read. I can count on one hand how many rom coms I’ve read written from a man’s point of view that I really liked, and this one of Miles’ was fantastic!

This was a perfectly wonderful romance novel that kept me smiling, I would give it 4.5 stars!

Ghosting: A Love Story is a sweet, slow-burn romance between Miles and Zoey, two ghostwriters from two competing dating companies. The story is a happy and an endearing one, both protagonists are funny and witty and the writing is enjoyable. In other words, the book had all the right elements to make this a very successful rom-com. However, I ended up being a little bit disappointed with it. Even though I had no clear expectations for this romance, in the end I clearly was expecting more than I got.

The first half of the book is super, super slow – both characters are focused on advancing their careers and focused on surviving in the big city. They are focused on hating each other, even if they don’t really anything about each other. Unknowingly and as a result of their occupations as ghostwriters for competing dating companies, they start to correspond each other, all the while impersonating both their customers. I found that this particular element of the story was not well executed. I mean, I have no problem believing someone would want a ghostwriter to write for them on a dating website. What I have trouble believing is that PROFESSIONAL ghostwriters would be so unprofessional as basically forgetting their customers’ personalities, likes and dislikes and basically write about themselves, their own likes and dislikes. That’s so unprofessional, it made me shudder and I believe it did nothing to advance the love story in any relevant way.

As I was saying, the first half of the book is super slow and at about 60% I was getting really tired of all the chatting on the dating website – they weren’t even trying to impersonate their customers’ personalities by this point and this was exhausting and kind of boring, to say the truth. The last 40% of the book though was funnier, faster and much more interesting. They finally got past the hating stage and the romance start to develop in earnest. I would have enjoyed this reading so much more if the whole book was like the last 40%!

In conclusion, the romance was way too slow-burn for me. I wish the authors had spent more time exploring this relationship. Overall, it’s an enjoyable read even if not a fantastic one. I would probably read another book from the duo because I think the potential for entertaining and funny love stories is there.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-arc of this wonderful story.

This was a wonderfully unique take on a romcom. It was You've Got Mail meets The Truth About Cats And Dogs. Miles and Zoey are both online dating ghostwriters for different companies. Somehow the clients they represent get matched and they are writing to each other.

The slow burn is real in this book. I loved the witty banter and the geeky moments they both have. This book had scenes that had me grinning like a fool. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every second of this story.

If you're looking for an easy read to make you feel good and give you butterflies this is the book for you.

Overall, I enjoyed this book but I found there was a lot left to be desired. In this modern day "You've Got Mail" Rom-Com, we meet the two main characters, Miles and Zoey who are both Ghostwriters for online dating forums and are both equally unsatisfied with their lives and are just trying to stay afloat long enough to find their footing. I really enjoyed the modern concept of this book with the online dating element. The Ghostwriter plot was a creative element and was fun to read about. Overall, I found it to be a fun and light read. I particularly enjoyed the pop culture references and the humorous dialogue. I found Zoey and Bree to be hilarious and relatable. I enjoy when protagonists are multi-faceted and break out of the stereotypical "perfect" molds. Zoey was cranky, quick-witted, dealt with a lot of anxiety and insecurities and had issues with her parents and I loved her more for it. Bree was dorky and inappropriate as well and I really enjoyed her character. I also really enjoyed Mary's role as a mentor and I loved her relationship with Zoey. Both Miles and Jude were sweet and likable as well. I just wish Miles had a little bit more oomph to him as he wasn't the most interesting, nor multi-layered book boyfriend.

I enjoyed the development and the weaving of the two story-lines (The DuchessB and GreatSc0t, and Miles and Zoey). Although, I did feel as though we knew about their (Zoey and Miles) job connection/identities a little too early and their frenemies to lovers story-line was dragged out a little too long for my liking. There was a lot of angst and banter between them, but there wasn't a lot of romantic, emotional, or sexual build up between the two of them as Zoey and Miles. We see a couple instances of them just beginning to bond and connect as individuals and then BAM, it all escalates into this full blown romance that left me wondering how we got here so quickly.

The concept, dialogue, humor, character likability, and pop culture references: 4 stars

The pacing and romance/chemistry: 2 stars

I feel an average of 3 stars feels just right for me. Like I said at the beginning, overall I enjoyed this book and it felt original and so promising. Once it picked up, it had me glued reading it until the very end. Unfortunately, the pace just picked up too late and then it wrapped up too early for my liking.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

As someone who has never had to date online, it is always fun for me to read stories about the apps created by authors and how they're different from all the others out there. This was a take on a side of online dating I hadn't heard of before: ghostwriting for people to get dates.

To be honest, it's genius and if that's actually a job, can someone let me know? Who doesn't like to live vicariously through other people? That's exactly what Miles and Zoey do - until they begin to fall in love with their clients' love interest. Unknowingly working for competing companies, they both work with daters who need a little help finding the right person because they're not able to do it successfully on their own. Through editing profiles and chatting on behalf of their clients, each begins to feel something for the person they're "talking" to - until one day, Zoey realizes that she and Miles have the same job and have been talking to each other!

What starts out as friendly competition to get "the table" in the cafe they both spend their days working at, turns into accidental friendship and eventually, Miles and Zoey see each other for who they truly are.

There are some really sweet moments in this book about learning to accept change and finding your way in a new place. How friendships are part of your life no matter where in the world you actually are and how sometimes you just have to try new things. I read this book in one sitting and enjoyed the story of Miles and Zoey.

Thank you, Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Fun. Have you read Cyrano De Bergerac? Don't worry if you haven't or if you can't remember it. This charming fan fiction moves the story to the world of on-line dating. It's the tale of Zoey and Miles, both of whom are ghostwriters for those who want great profiles on their respective on line dating services. He's a New Yorker and she's new to town from LA and at first they are in a contretemps over, of all things, the table at their local coffee shop. Slowly, though, they begin to find the good spots in one another even as- wait for it- they are doing an on line thing without knowing that it's with each other. Nice characters and spritely dialogue makes it a good read. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. For rom-com fans.

Thank you net galley for the advance reader copy of this novel. This was a contemporary romance that kind of had a You've got mail/cyrano vibe to it. I loved the concept of it and it was overall a great read but took a bit to get into it.

Did I pause reading everyone's most-anticipated Addie LaRue for this? Yes. Did I spend my entire Saturday just reading this? Yes! Is this one of the cutest books I've read all year? Most definitely!
Oh, my goodness! I was not expecting to enjoy and love this book as much as I do. I just wanted to read a romance book and I figured I'd check out one of my ARCs. I'm so, so glad I picked Ghosting!

Miles and Zoey are ghostwriters for people in online dating websites, making others sound wittier and more interesting than their real selves. Of course, they just happened to work for rival ghostwriting companies! When each of their current clients matched online, it's up to Miles and Zoey to make their connection a success. Only, they've gotten to know each other in real life, but they didn't know they're flirting with each other as their clients. If you think this online dating take on You've Got Mail is just like others, you'd be wrong.

The inner monologues and the actual dialogues are so fun and entertaining. I laughed and snorted my way through this book! And to have two persons of color—Zoey being being half-Filipina (hooray for my Filipina ass!) and Miles being half-Egyptian—fall in love just...warms my heart. Zoey and Miles are witty and adorable and I loved seeing their slow-burn, rivals-to-lovers story unfold. Their bosses' e-mails at the beginning of every chapter added another level of hilarity to this already-fun novel. If I'm not mistaken, this is the authors' first book together and if this is what they come up with, I'd definitely love to read more.

This book had such potential! It reminded me of Tweet Cute in that the couple is falling for each other online and in real life without knowing who they are talking to online. Zoey and Miles are ghostwriters for people who are looking to spruce up their dating profiles. They work for different companies, so they don’t know each other this way. Their clients are matched on a dating app, and Zoey and Miles start talking to each other in the app as their clients. Meanwhile, they have a competition going for the good table at a coffee shop in real life.

I loved the first half of this book! I thought the concept of it was cute, and liked how they were falling for each other without knowing it. Then the book started to drag a little bit. I also didn’t love the way that they found out that they had actually been talking online all along. I felt like that could have happened in a better way. I was just let down by it a little bit. Overall, it’s a cute story, I just wanted a little bit more from it.

Ghosting had a really interesting premise. Our two characters Zoey and Miles are both ghostwriters, but as a dating service? Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve never internet dated, but I was blissfully naive about all these dating apps. I never would have guessed or thought that someone would hire a ghostwriter to help write your Tinder bio or help slide into someone’s DMs.

Youths…

Our Hero Miles has been dumped recently and is living on his best friend’s couch, so when his job goes fully remote, he resorts to staking out the coffee shop and poaching their wifi. That is where he meets our Heroine Zoey. A recent transplant from California, Zoey is finding NYC overwhelming and the nearby coffee shop is becoming her newest workspace.

This is where the war for “the table” begins. The competition is fierce. Additionally, their ghostwriting clients match so Miles and Zoey start catching feelings for each other…without realizing it. Ghosting is a super slow burn, and the story is over halfway done before their romance starts to flourish.

My main criticism is that the story was a bit overly wordy and slow. Also Miles started off as a bit of a dick, and he really didn’t redeem himself by the end. But Zoey and her fairy godmother Mary? Both hundo percent amazing. In fact, Mary stole the show and my heart. What a wonderful character.

When I was requesting my books from NetGalley this one caught my eye. Although you can't judge a book by it's cover (in this situation, literally), it's the first thing that catches your eye and makes you want to read more about it. The premise was so interesting and I taught it would be an interesting and quirky contemporary read. And it sure was interesting and quirky but not exactly what I was hoping for.

We follow Miles and Zoey, ghostwiters for two 'enemy' dating websites, as they try to get two of their clients together, but they fall in love with each other instead (it's just neither of them knows their match is a ghostwriter instead). It's such a ridiculous story but I usually like those.

However, I did have a lot of problems with this book. First of all, I was just not that into it. I usually read pretty fast, especially light books like this one is, but it was so hard to make myself keep reading this one. There just wasn't anything spectacular about it and I found it to even be a bit boring. I had a huge problem with our main character, Zoey. She annoyed me a lot and I got this vibe like she's trying to be not like the other girls type. I hated reading her chapters as much as I loved reading Miles'. I liked his character and he was so funny, reminding me a bit of Ross from Friends (maybe because he doesn't have that much luck in love either).

I like the Jude and Bree (the dating site couple) and wish there was a bit more of their relationship in the book. They seemed to click irl even though they didn't actually communicate in other ways personally.

Miles and Zoey's relationship wasn't really it for me. It was a little bit rushed and they instantly became from enemies to lovers. It was very unrealistic and I wish the authors did a bit of a better job focusing on our main couple's relationship.

I liked the description of New York and it's popular destinations, small cafes and all the interesting parts about it. I didn't get the whole this with Leanne and Clifford and I found myself skipping almost all of their emails.

I wish I liked this book a bit more but it is what it is. It's not like it's terrible, the plot is still pretty unique but I was a little let down. Don't let my review discourage you from reading this yourself, we all have different interest and you might like it even though I don't.

A warm love story that you can read with a hot cup of coffee in some quaint little cafe.

This book was everything I needed from a romcom: it had the potential to be made into a movie, some very cute scenes that made my heart melt and two distinct characters that were unlike the mainstream protagonists we usually see. It is the story of Miles, a hopeless romantic who wants to get married and have babies, and Zoey, a girl living with her past fears and trying to navigate through a new life.

Miles and Zoey work at rival startups that help people up their dating game. They come across each other at a Cafe down the block and are often seen at odds for who will occupy the big table by the window. Their banter is funny and charming. The thoughts of the characters were extremely enjoyable and cracked me up multiple times.

There was a little problem of it being slow in the middle but it quickly picked up. The book started with me disliking Zoey a little since she seemed to complain about everything and not giving a chance to the new city she is living in. But as we progress through the book, her character becomes more likable as she shows her fear of the subway and her insecurities. I love her background story because it felt so real to me.

Miles was always a charmer - I love his relationship with his bestfriend Dylan's boyfriend - their banter is to die for. Miles is heartbroken at the beginning of the story which is pretty rare for someone who believes in love - he does not believe he can go back to being the Old Miles. His job is at stake and his ex-girlfriend told him she was going to have a baby with someone else. Life is as bad as it could be.

New clients help Miles and Zoey get their lives back on track as they help them woo each other. Through the continuous banter, Miles and Zoey realize they are good people and help each other out of multiple sticky situations.

My favourite part was Zoey's confession about why she hated the subway and everything else about New York.

It's an absolute hit as a romcom and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys insta love and cafes. I know I do!

I really enjoyed this book! Miles and Zoey were adorable! Their comedic banter had me laughing out loud and loving this couple so much! The enemies to lovers trope in a coffee shop... yes, please!!!

After a slower start, I really got into this story of two ghostwriters working on separate dating sites. It had a very You've Got Mail vibe. I am always in for enemies to lovers, especially in a coffee shop. I really liked how Zoey and Miles came to know each other and how they each grew personally through the story. It was nice to have an enemies to lovers trope without them being truly horrible to each other. There was none of that "we need to have a conversation" feeling because they didn't know that they were talking to each other. It was refreshing. Thanks so much, Kensington, for letting me read and review!

This was a lot of fun to read. Miles and Zoey are ghostwriters for competing companies. They help their clients write better profiles on dating sites and assist them with the initial contact with potential dates. Their first meeting is fighting over biscotti at a coffee shop. From there they engage in this almost silent warfare for the free food and the best table in the place. Zoey’s client, Bree, and Miles’ client, Jude, pick each other as dates and Miles and Zoey start flirting through the clients’ profiles, without knowing that they are really talking to each other. Luckily for them Bree and Jude still hit it off, even with some inadvertent mistakes and meddling by their ghostwriters.

I enjoyed Zoey and Miles’ confrontations in the coffee shop. Zoey was very determined to make a success of herself after her recent move to New York, even though she was scared of using the subway and exploring the city on her own. Miles was her first real interaction with someone that wasn’t work-related. Miles was a bit whiney. His fiancée had broken up with him not too long ago, and she was expecting another man’s child. He was sleeping on a friend’s couch and didn’t have any plans on finding his own place to live, until his friend’s boyfriend sort of kicked him out. The war with Zoey did seem to bring him back to life a bit.

There was a lot of fun banter between the characters, and both Zoey and Miles seemed to have themselves sorted out at the end. I think Zoey grew the most as a character, and that was great to read.

Thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A cute,hilarous rom-com with slow burn romance .
This was surely a great read. I absolutely loved it. The synopsis was so interesting and the book doesn't fails to impress you. Though it was hard and boring for me at start but gradually it became interesting and I couldn't put the book down. I loved the banter between the main characters. Its reminds you of Hating Game at times. The characters were funny at times loved their cute little fights over the table at the cafe.
It one of those books which doesn't disappoint you with all the baggage from the past of the characters. The way the characters open up to one another felt so real. This book just joined my favourite booklist.I definitely recommend everyone to read it.

While the idea of online dating ghostwriters seems completely absurd to me, it made for some really cute hijinks. Miles and Zoey are both so lovable. There were also some really great moments from secondary characters (I was especially fond of Mary), though the primary focus is definitely on the protagonists. The way the story played out, it was like we got to experience the budding relationship of Zoey and Miles through two different tropes: whirlwind (online) and rivals-to-lovers (irl) which was a really neat dichotomy for a genre that is very formulaic. Plus it was cute, and fun, and it made me laugh. 4 stars and I can’t wait to read more by these authors.

Thank you NetGalley, authors, and publisher for the ARC.

Ghosting; A Love Story is a perfect pick for any fans of a Cyrano story with a modern twist! While I had a feeling I would like this book, I honestly did not think I would like it so much! I could not put this book down and raced through it within a 8 time window. I loved pretty much everything about this rom-com-esq novel and if dating site ghostwriters are a thing please sign me up! The writing is witty and funny and characters are relatable, smart, and dare I say love-able (seriously, where can I get me a Miles?) And perhaps my favorite part is the representation! As an avid romantic-comedy watcher and reader, it has become a frustrating struggle to find characters of color who are well written and actually exist and boy does the duo of Tash Skilton deliver! Overall this is perhaps one of the best rom-coms I’ve read and I’m definitely looking forward to what Tash Skilton do next!

Thank you to Netgalley, Sarvenaz Tash, Sarah Skilton, and Kensington Books for the advanced copy of Ghosting: A Love Story in exchange for an honest review!
