Cheater Code is much more than meets the eye. What we have on the surface is very much a homoerotic graphic novel. However, there is a ton of emotional mending that transpires here. Through sexual escapades, I am sure every gamer has partially fantasized at least once their lifetime, Kennedy finds the confidence and self-worth to move on after he catches his boyfriend of six years cheating.

This book is an easy read. I did so in one quick session. The art is amazing, the story is steamy, and Kennedy is so endearing you cannot help but cheer for him. Thanks to Netgalley and Oni Press for an early copy of this graphic novel.

Such a cute story! I love that the undercurrent to the whole book was that it was about getting over a heart break. How trudging forward and learning to face your pain is key in helping yourself. Highly recommend.

Oh boy, oh boy! I knew this said it contained homoerotic themes but this was insane! Be warned, you are in for a wild and graphic ride if you pick this up! However, it was so much fun. It was a trip from beginning to end.

We follow our main character after he finds his boyfriend sleeping with someone else, leading to our MC getting pulled into his favorite video games. He tries to find his way out with the help of some characters from each game, however, he gets a bit distracted... sleeping with all of the characters.

This was such a romp, fun from beginning to end. This is a graphic novel, so the sexual content is very evidently displayed, so make sure that you are okay with that.

Cheater code is a heartwarming story about a man learning to love himself again after his heart has been broken. It's hot, funny, sad, and hopeful. Everything you could possibly want in a comic book.

This was some A+ nerdcore smexy Erotica graphic novel.
After breaking up with his boyfriend of six years, Kennedy turns to his games for comfort and then in some freak glitch ends up being transported into the world of the games he plays.

Like is said before, this was top quality, the color and the erm...smack dab right in your face sexy scenes. Its an enjoyable comic and sometimes a bit ridiculous but it's a fun read.

This is definitely 18+ Adults only i feel like that should be put on the front cover.

As a gamer this graphic novel hits the spot for me - it perfectly takes all of the typical video game clichés, turns them on their head and then somehow also makes them sexy.
This book was hot, funny and thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. I’d recommend these to fans of video games purely for the in jokes. The steaminess is a beautiful bonus.

Gamer graphic novel, that also was really steamy, I did enjoy the art and the story for some fun reading.

This was pretty good. Ken the main character walks in on his boyfriend with another man. Later ends up transport to the video games he love and slowly with the help of his favorite characters works through getting over his ex and back to the real world.

At heart, a graphic novel about a gamer learning to love himself as he is and accepting that the relationship he thought was perfect had just run its course, Cheater Code is a super sweet and empowering read that takes the "graphic" very seriously.
Kennedy comes home one day to very graphically discover that his boyfriend has been cheating on him for a while instead of manning up and actually talking to him about their problems. In the middle of his heartbreak, a freak accident happens that flings Ken into his gaming console and the game worlds he so often found refuge in. So begins Ken's epically erotic journey of discovery and self-acceptance.
Kudos to the artists for making sure that all kinds of bodies (love Ken's little paunch) and mentalities are displayed and explored, as well as keeping the sex realistic and safe with discussions about lube, protection, and consent!
Great art and several laugh-out-loud moments keep the plot moving, while the "action" always fits the moment in the plot and leads to character development. Not an easy feat to accomplish but definitely one that's noted and appreciated.
Overall, Cheater Code is a fantastic graphic novel for mature readers that has a great message and lots of great jokes and visuals to enjoy.

This graphic novel really surprised me!! At the very beginning the author shows you what an erotic novel it’s about, i really didn’t expect the details (but i’m not complanning).😂
The story was funny, hot and fresh.
At first i did’t connect with Kennedy, i felt he was lazy, boring and a nerd, but then i started to know him and realized he was more than what he looked like, he was a sweet boy who deserves so much love, he was a loyal friend and a romantic boyfriend.
The characters that are introduced as the story progress were so kind with him and they also helped him with his insecurities so I instantly liked them.

I was hesitant going into this, I didn't know what to expect reading a erotic graphic novel. But it was actually pretty good, the storyline was great, I liked the Jumanji feel with a major twist. Going into different games worlds was super interesting as well. Plus the artwork was beautiful. I would give more than 3 stars but some parts just wasn't for me. All in all a good read

Went into this expecting it to just be a short steamy read with not much actual plot, turns out I was very wrong. We follow Ken who has just walked in on his long term boyfriend cheating on him. What ensues is a wild adventure as Ken is transported into his favourite videos games, where he has some steamy encounters with several of the characters. While being a laugh and lots of fun, the story also shows a wonderful arch of Ken finding his own self value and confidence. I also need to give huge props to the great male body positivity, it’s not often you see a MC with a tummy, and I really appreciate that.

This homo-erotic graphic novel follows Kennedy after he has a hard breakup with his boyfriend. In an interesting turn of events he is transported into his video game worlds where he meats a host of interesting and hot male characters on his journey to find his way home.
Through out kennedy actually works towards finding himself. I really enjoyed that character development played an important role and that the sex scenes added something to the story rather than it just being porn with a little plot thrown in.

The art in the book really appealed to me, it was drawn in a cute, heartwarming way but still managed to be sexy. It evoked very nostalgic feelings for me and this made it much easier to get fully emersed into the game worlds we are taken through. And as a gay man I must say I had to read the steamy scenes privately if you get my drift.

The relatablility of the Ken and his situation added a level of realism. I love that S.A. Foxe displayed real life issues without losing the fun, fantasy aspect of the novel. The portrayal of safe sex and body image especially impressed me. The story was also bursting with humour, especailly puns and innuendos which really make the graphic novel surprisingly gripping. The kink,-gear wearing baddies really made me chuckle. This was a much better read than I had been expecting.

This quick, m/m story has a deeper message about self acceptance, using your imagination to overcome problems and the importance of sexy game characters. Definitely recommended for 18+ readers looking for an engrossing and hot graphic novel.

The story line is based on Kennedy finding his boyfriend cheating on him and trying to process all the feelings he in going through.

I've dabbled in a lot of BL manga/graphic novels and one mistake many tend to make is focusing on over sexualizing characters and focusing on the lust of it all. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, For a lot plots it helps them move forward with those types characteristics. But it was very refreshing to be able to read CHEATER CODE and not have it focus solely on the Sexual Intercourse between characters.

Kennedy had extreme and admirable character growth I loved his character. I love how they tackled many topics and issues in the LGBTQIA+ community and in relationships in general from size shaming and self love, I enjoyed being able to watch the characters development as he figures out his preferences and who he really is.

Characters: Kennedy, better known as Ken is the main character. The story opens with a pivotal moment for Ken’s character, he walks in on his boyfriend Seth cheating on him. Seth complains that Ken is gaming too much rather than putting effort into their relationship. Ken has almost let himself go and this story shows him how he can be the hero in his own journey, that he can be desired again.
Setting: The setting flips between different video game settings. From completely fantastical worlds to small-town America to science fiction style settings. I loved flipping between the different settings that were reminiscent of many games I have played before.
Pacing: I always find comics/graphic novels a quick read and Cheat(er) Code definitely was.
Romance: The romance element is a bit different as Ken is broken up with at the beginning of the story. He spends the majority of the story hooking up but what this teaches him is that he is worthy of love and worth putting effort in.

This was something. I mean, I did read the description, but it's not quite what I expected. Not the worst thing I've ever read but I'm not sure what to think of it. I feel like this is for a very niche audience. And I know this is not what the author was going for, but I couldn't help but want to know what happened with Seth, since he is the one to start out the story.

In Cheater Codes, Kennedy is swept up into a power-surged induced experience of being transported into his favourite video game after catching his long term partner cheating on him in waking life. This graphic novel displays Kennedy’s self empowerment journey as he travels through the pixelated land and engages in intercourse with characters (who are very self-aware). Much like any transportation experience, the internal balance is thrown off causing glitches.

I went into this adult graphic novel open-minded as I am fairly new to the genre and I was quite surprised by my enjoyment of the content. Somehow, the creator was able to bridge the gap between dark side of pornography and healthy sexual experiences (isn't that out of this world surprising considering the extraterrestrial content?). Every sexual scene in this novel displays the importance of lubing up and safe male on male sex.

In just 133 pages, Kennedy had extreme and admirable character growth of which was refreshing and made me love his character more. I especially loved that he called out size shaming and the element of self love as he discovered himself and his preferences. I applaud the illustrator for the graphics as they very graphic and steamy. This took me back to my fanfiction days without the embarrassing dialogue of (”member”. Yikes.)

One of my favourite elements of this graphic novel is the dialogue of which was packed with humour and weirdness that made me laugh out loud. The dialogue alone is reason enough to read Cheater Codes.

“Are you telling me I just fucked a self aware video game character?”

“Am I really supposed to accept that you know that you are a computer generated fuck daddy?”


“This is both weirder and hotter than any alien encounter I’ve ever had!”

The most dominant theme in this story is that of consent and there needs to be more awareness of consent in the book world as we tred through the Me Too era in reality.

Symbolically, this novel shows the use of escapism to avoid ones emotions in waking life and playing video games is one of the most used ways to achieve this. Due to the fact that Kennedy’s subconscious mind threw him into a computer generated world where he encountered a maniested version of his ex, it's extremely telling to the nature of their relationship. I disagree wholeheartedly with cheating in addition to believing that Kennedy was distancing himself from reality and thus the downfall of his relationship.

In conclusion, I was able to read Cheater Codes in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

This graphic novel is the perfect mixture of super sexy, fun, and also empowering. In such a short graphic novel I was so pleasantly surprised to see such a growth from Kennedy, I found him as a delight to read from. At the beginning of this story Kennedy walks in on his long term boyfriend sleeping with someone else. Kennedy is absolutely heartbroken, he thought they were happy together and now he can’t see a life without Seth. When a certain...(ahem ;) ) situation gets Kennedy sucked into some of his favourite video games he will see a new side of himself and discovery things he never would of.

I love the art style in this book, I’m still new to graphic novels but I found this one to be so inviting. With each video game we entered the colours would change and it was such a wonderful experience. This story is also so addictive once I started reading I had to just continue on with it, and I can say for a fact I will for sure look at more from this author!

If you are wanting a sexy little graphic novel then you really don’t need to look any further, I couldn’t of asked for anything more from it!

This graphic novel is not for children. It is an adult erotic graphic novel a fantastic read about dealing with an unexpected ending to a relationship.
