Adams has done it again. She delivered a solid, satisfactory read. Once again, we return to Storyton Hall where a weekend for fairy tales is planned. Except two people won't have fairy tale endings. I love the richness in Adams descriptions of the parties, costumes, and details. I was stumped with who was actually behind the nefarious deeds. Adams has a knack for making the villains deliciously malicious. I also liked how she incorporated one of her other series into this one. Nice touch! I can't wait to take another journey back to a bookish resort where reading is why you're there.

First let me admit I’m biased. If Ellery Adams is the author, it’s a must read on my list. This particular series I love because it’s a bit unusual. The setting is always on a large estate, Storyton Hall, which is a wonderful place for bibliophiles. Jane and her aunt and uncle run the place, are the perpetual guardian keepers of certain books, and are hosting an event for children books. They’ve created a large wonderful storybook village but the night before the conference Jane and her friends discover a dead body in one of the attractions. The mystery takes off from there. Good writing, great characters, this is a not to be missed mystery series.

PS...I wasn't sure at first if I should mention this but I’m thrilled to discover Olivia Limoges will be resurrected in the next book. She is a character from another Adams series, that I can’t recommend enough. It’s like running into an old friend and finding out what they’ve been up to. I can’t wait to read this next installment.

Storyton Hall is hosting an event sponsored by a children’s book publisher and authors, illustrators, publishers and families with children are all in attendance. But when two women are found murdered with collectible editions of fair tales that seem tied to their murder, Jane Steward and her fins are all over it. While trying to find who would have done such a dastardly deed, the Storyton staff also aims to keep their guests and the children safe while trying to find the murderer.

While I read the previous book in this series and was not totally on board, I gave the next one a read and am glad that I did. Definitely a mystery series for the bibliophile!

I so wish I could visit this place every time I pick up a book in the series. This book centered around children's books, murder, tragedy and vengeance wrapped up in a gritty but fun package. .

I just love this series because I think it would be the best vacation ever!! A retreat that revolves around books? Heaven!

This book opens with a weekend for children and their families. Everything revolves around children's books, from classics to contemporary, illustrators and authors. What could go wrong right?

As Jane leads her book group on a winter sleigh ride they stumble onto the body of a young woman that seems to be dressed as Red Riding Hood. A few days later another woman is found dead and she is posed as The Ice Princess. Jane and her Fins quickly investigate and try to find out who the killer is and why they would be killing people at a Children's book retreat.

As usual the story is witty and fun while dealing with some gritty issues which is why I like the writing of Ellery Adams. She's not afraid to tackle social issues but in a way that works within the story. I highly recommend any book written by this author.

I received a free copy of MURDER IN THE STORYBOOK COTTAGE (Book 6 of the Book Retreat Mysteries) by Ellery Adams in exchange for an honest review. Storyton Hall is hosting a conference for a children’s publishing company just in time for the opening of its fairytale village activity center for children. Jane Steward takes her book club friends on a surprise preview of the event and find the body of an unknown young woman dressed as Little Red Riding Hood, a rare and valuable copy of Grimm’s Fairy Tales, and slain like she was Snow White. Shortly thereafter, a guest goes missing, and a Storyton staff member finds her body posed like a character in a Hans Christian Andersen story. It’s clear to Jane, her staff, and law enforcement that the murders are linked. Finding that link will uncover the motive and reveal the murderer. Can Jane and her staff keep everyone safe until the killer is caged?

I liked this book and enjoy the series. I recommend this book to fans of the series. I recommend the series to fans of Ellery Adams and to fans of cozy mysteries featuring murder, books, castles, small towns, specialty inns, and special events.
