3 stars — sizzling chemistry and fast-paced steam, but light on depth.”

Stroke of Luck is a sexy, whirlwind romance that delivers exactly what Opal Carew fans expect—intense attraction, steamy encounters, and a plot that moves quickly from sparks to full-blown fire. The story kicks off with a chance encounter that turns into an unexpectedly passionate connection, where luck, lust, and fantasy collide.

The heat level is high, and the chemistry between the characters is undeniable. If you’re in the mood for escapist, no-holds-barred romance with bold scenes and little hesitation, this definitely fits the bill.

That said, the emotional depth and character development felt a bit rushed. The story leans more toward fantasy indulgence than realistic romance, which might work great for some readers but left me wanting a bit more substance.

Still, if you’re looking for a steamy escape with a hint of playfulness, Stroke of Luck delivers on spice and sizzle.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ | A Wild Vegas Ride of Betrayal, Revenge & Scorching Desire

Opal Carew delivers an intensely provocative and boundary-pushing romance in Stroke of Luck, where one woman’s worst day in Vegas takes an unexpectedly steamy turn.

April Smith thought she was getting her dream wedding. Instead, she gets ultimate betrayal—cheating fiancé, no money, no job, and no home. Just when rock bottom seems inevitable, fate (or maybe sheer bad luck?) brings her face-to-face with her college ex, Quinn, and his best friend, Austin—now both wealthy, powerful, and looking for payback.

What follows is a whirlwind of revenge, passion, and accidental marriage in true Vegas fashion. A drunken night leads to a shocking morning: April wakes up married…to both men. Quinn, still bitter from their past, offers her a way to repay her debt—one month of complete submission to him and Austin. With no other options, April agrees, plunging into an arrangement that is equal parts seductive, dangerous, and emotionally charged.

Carew’s storytelling is as bold as ever, blending erotic tension with themes of power, revenge, and second chances. However, this book is not for the faint of heart—there are heavy power dynamics, questionable consent, and moments of emotional manipulation that some readers may find uncomfortable.

If you love:
✨ Accidental marriages (but make it extra spicy)
✨ Revenge turned into something much more…
✨ Billionaire possessiveness at its peak
✨ 🔥🔥🔥 Heat levels off the charts

Then Stroke of Luck by Opal Carew is the chaotic, steamy escape you need!

Let me start off by saying I love Opal Carew and her writing.

On the day of her rehearsal dinner, which was one day before the wedding, April found her fiancé cheating on her. Her fiancé goes on to do more harm by going on a shopping spree and leaves her with the bill to pay. Ex-boyfriend Quinn comes to her rescue. Quinn pays off April's bill and offers her a place to stay. He refuses to allow April to pay him back. April offers to have a relationship with him for the month he’s in Vegas. He agrees, with the condition that the relationship include his business partner Austin.

Although there were a few things that were a little confusing the book was still a decent read for me.

This story was okay. The characters took themselves too seriously for me, though the sex scenes are certainly spicy!

Stroke of Luck was a quick MFM read. This book is about April, Quinn, and Austin.

April is left on her wedding day by who she thought was the love of her life. When Quinn (her college ex-boyfriend) comes to her rescue, feelings start to redevelop. As well as with Quinn's friend Austin.

How is April able to manage being with both guys? Will they all get their happy ending?

What seems like a wonderful blurb caused me to go in desperate to find out what happened next. I was totally confused and ended up reading multiple parts over again to make sense of all the changes.

Apologies for the late response on this title, and apologies for clogging up an inbox on old titles.

While I am aware it's obvious, I have chosen not to read/review this title.

As always, I appreciate access to titles and look forward to the next one...which I have likely already read based on how long ago this title was published.

Thanks, again.

This one was sexy hot from beginning to end. April was in Vegas to get married when she caught her fiance cheating the night before her wedding. Not only did he leave her with the bill for the hotel room but all the charges he incurred. When she is kicked out she stumbled into her college boyfriend, Quinn, who she had broken up with and he still feels like she is the one who got away. When he discovers what happened he wants to help her and volunteers to pay off her bill. She agrees but only by offering up herself as collateral which he agrees along with sharing with his friend, Austin, for a month. What starts as a whirlwind day turns into a double wedding in two chapels when they both marry April. What will happen when her fiance comes back to claim her once more? Will Quinn and April figure out their trust issues?

This book is hot & sexy. The plot kept me interested and the characters that are likeable were you hope for a happy ending. The characters have great chemistry and the story starts out great but I did not really like the ending of April getting back together with her ex that cause so much heartache.

It was an ok story, I found it just like every other romance book. Nothing really stood out to me. Couldn't really connect with any of the characters.

This is a spicy one! If you're looking for a hot read that you won't want to put down, then pick up this book! Honestly, I was surprised how invested I was in this book, as it's not usually my first choice for genres. But overall, I really enjoyed it. The characters are well developed and the sexy scenes are well written. This would be an easy recommendation for anyone who likes a spicy read!

A steamy, erotic romance.
Great chemistry between April and the two business partners Quinn and Austin. This sort of relationship and the quirks that come with it are not my thing. Though I do enjoy this author and her stories.
It's entertaining smut and it kept me glued to my kindle.

The book was well-written and spicy. The sex scenes were fully realized and I love that they could share without it being creepy. I enjoyed the fact that for one of the throuple was a second chance romance.

Erotica is one of my genres of choice and I really enjoyed this one. Sometimes eroticas don't have great storylines, but this one definitely kept my attention from the very beginning.

April is Las Vegas for her wedding but when her fiancé cheats, she is left with a huge hotel bill. She runs into her ex-boyfriend Quinn who offers to bail her out. April does want to be in his debt so she offers herself to him for a month. Quinn wants to share her with his business partner Austin and sparks are definitely flying be will she have to choose between them? Fast-paced read with loads of drama and intense steam. Great characters and a hot read.

This book didn't work for me. There were many POV changes, which just made me confused. The characters were not fully developed. The sex scenes were just ok. This book had potential but missed the mark.

The story was about what I expected. It could have been better, with a stronger plot and less annoying heroine, but the story isn't awful if taken at face value. I requested this book when I was desperate for more romances not involving monogamy, but it somehow still felt monogamous.
