This was a solid and easy read with a great story line. It starts off with the investigation of a missing person and takes the reader with on this up and down path. Recommended.

Enjoyable, quick read. I did enjoy the dialogue between the characters and found it flowed very well. Very reminiscient of Robert Parker. I enjoyed the story line and the characters. This is a series I will probably continue to read.

An enjoyable and easy read with a good narrative. What starts as a missing person enquiry progresses to financial irregularities and multiple deaths. More of an action thriller with a straight plot.

Missing Persons by Michael Brandman – 5 Stars

Missing Persons was fun to read. It has an interesting intelligent plot with small town politics, a family of evangelical con artists, some murders and a bit of romance. The characters are unique. The dialogue between them is witty, often sarcastic and irreverent. This is the first of the series. I am anxious to spend more time with Sheriff Buddy Steel Jr. and the residents of Freedom. They are quite an entertaining bunch.

A tantalizing mix of suspense and murder, written in a glued-to-your-chair/bed/lounge manner that guarantees late nights -- or very early mornings. Empathetic characters and enough diabolical plot twists to fill a nightmare, this book comes from me with very high recommendation. You'll only regret the potential loss of sleep!
