Siiiiiiiggggghhhhhh. I love this series. Every book has been better than the one that came before it (except for The Saint, that's the best book ever written). The Priest was a little different, but no less amazing. It reads more like a crime novel/mystery than erotica. Oh, don't worry, there's still plenty of kink, but it's like a secondary character instead of the main plot. Reisz's flawless writing is part of what makes this book so enjoyable. She has the gift of storytelling and you will be glued to the pages from start to finish. The pace, the wit, the heartbreak are all on point. I'm still riding the high and I'm sure I'll have a book hangover for days to come.

I loved being back in the Original Sinners world with Nora and the gang it just felt like being home all cosy with a hot cup of tea and roaring fire . Even though Nora is far from cosy and if told her that she probably would hurt me. I loved seeing old and new characters and The Priest had a more mystery element to the story which I liked. I enjoyed following the mystery but did start to suspect what was happening toward the end. It has the usual sex and "romance", romance doesn't quite feel like the right word but it had it. I loved the setting this time we are in New Orleans one of my favourite places. One thing about Tiffany Reiez writing is it makes you think particularly around religion and ethics. All the stuff in Nora's past finally comes to a head and she realises some things and it was heartbreaking to read. Overall I really enjoyed The Priest and couldn't put it down.

The beginning of a new era in The Original Sinners series is here and it's terrific. To be honest I couldn't put down The Priest. Why you might ask. Because it's:
✩ a (kinky) sexy suspense novel
✩ set in the crazy world of New Orleans
✩ amazingly well-written and highly entertaining
✩ humorous, sweet and weird, plus provoking
✩ felt like a homecoming but introduces us to a fantastic new character as well.

My favorite quote:
"Funny how the worst thing that happened to a man could turn out to be the best thing sometimes."

A new book in the Original Sinners series, so that means more Nora, Soren en King.

There is a different vibe in the book, mainly because there is an introduction of a new character Cyrus and there is the death of the priest. And the question why did he kill himself.

Nora and Soren are also dealing with his leave of absence from the Church and they are come to see certains events in a new light. It shifts the relationship between them.

There is a lot of food for thought, but the book also made me laugh out loud. That was because of the interaction between Cyrus and Nora.

I was really excited that there is more Original Sinners! The Priest was more than I ever expected. It tackles a subject that had laid questionable throughout the series. It begins with Nora's previous phone number's involvement in a suicide. Not just any suicide but a Priest's suicide.

Soren, King and Nora are back. We are catching up with our favorite Original Sinners. I was so damn happy. The last book left me needing more. Soren is suspended as a Priest. While in limbo, Soren begins to tackle his future. Nora is in the mist of painting a baby room for King and Juliette when private detective Cyrus Tremont enters the picture. Cyrus is working a case in which Nora's previous phone number was called by a Priest before he committed suicide. Cyrus is an interesting character. He was a cop before being shot and a reformed Casanova, who is engaged to a woman who is no longer going to join a convent. Now he's looking into a suicide by Priest who may be a possible kinkster. The kinkster world is way outside his realm and Nora is the perfect partner to help him solve the case.

The ending is revealing. It had me on edge. It tackles a sensitive subject that brings light to the inevitable truth. Wow! Just Wow! If you love this series. Or if you are new to this series. I highly recommend this book!

Anyone living in a shoe box might not have heard of this series that is just Phenomenal.... I loved it.
It makes every kind of love just feel possible. Father Ike commits suicide and police ask Cyrus to quietly question around. Nora’s card was found in the Priests pocket.

So from the last book Soren had been excommunicated by the Jesuits for a year for having a child with a married woman. In the start of this book he is still missing. Cyrus uses Nora to investigate Father Ike’s disturbing suicide.

Cyrus and Nora begin their relationship on the straight and narrow since he is pledged to Paulina. Soren however comes back and takes some of Nora’s focus.

“Eleanor, you really should know better by now,” he said. “Never flirt with a sadist in a well-stocked dungeon.”(Soren)

This book is so good.

What did I like? Kingsley...Juliette...Nora....Soren...gangs all here. There is a sadness that hovers the book though, like Nora won’t find a HEA. It rips out your insides. 61% in I want to hurt Soren. Ugh imagine a BDSM scene that hurts you and magnify it by ten. This writer is the perfect sadist.

Would I buy or recommend? I’m typing into Amazon on my other hand......I want this on my shelf. I love this whole series. It kills you with feels you can die from. This is one series you just don’t forget. Soren and Nora are written in the stars.

Thoughts for the author? Sadistic pleasure anyone? I’m fried. Paulina and Cyrus were perfect. Catholic Church will always be up in arms....things happen. Unruly fetishes and Catholic priests that put themselves down before harm....

This is one series that I will never tire of, the perfect mix of lovable characters, detailed and highly erotic scenes, along with some well-placed humor. Oh, and I can't forget the religious history.

This ninth installment was a bit different than the other books in the series, focusing on the death of a priest. All indications are that Father Ike committed suicide. But why? And why did he try to contact an author known for her erotic romances?

Enter Nora, one of my all-time favorite heroines. Initially, she is just a person of interest, as a Private Investigator, Cyrus Tremont digs into the questions above. But Nora being Nora, she can't help but become involved and partners with Cyrus to find out answers.

The mystery of the Father's death becomes more intriguing as it appears, he has a dark secret, that ties to Nora's world.

"If Father Ike was kinky, he was one of us," she said, pointing to herself. "Somehow we failed him if he thought the only way out was suicide."

While this story includes some of the other favorites, Soren and Kingsley, the bulk of the story focuses on Nora and Cyrus. I liked their partnership and how their friendship extended to their personal lives, offering advise as needed. And when the truth about the Father was revealed, it was striking to see how deeply it impacted Nora. She doesn't show that type of emotion often, making it that more impactful.

This was a great addition to the series, and one every Original Sinner fan should check out!

Holy crap! That was not what I was expecting, but in a good way. A dead priest with Nora's card but how did he get it and why did he try to call her?

I love Cy. He's cynical to her lifestyle but is a drawn to her in an odd non sexual way. He made me laugh so many times and I hope to see more of him in future books.

But it was Soren at the end that stole my heart. He has changed in this book, he is still a sadistic bastard but he is changing. He is a crossroads right now but in which direction he will do is anybody's guess.

So much more character growth going on and it's wonderful to see. This series gets better and better with each book.

I am a late bloomer to this series. I only started it because numerous people had mentioned that this would be a good starting point for new readers and I had been wanting to start it for some time. That being said, I went in blind.

Even though I didn't know the characters from their previous books, I found that I wanted to after reading this. I was not lost at any time but I sure was intrigued. There is a level of depth and complexity here that Enjoyed. There is no doubt that this author is very gifted when it comes to creating a story that is titillating and suspenseful as well as erotic.

Even though this "could" be a new starting point, I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I had started with book one, even though that is 8 books before this one which is quite daunting. However, the characters were that good and even though the author did a great job at giving the barest of detail to refresh the author's mind, I cannot help but feel compelled to go back and get ALL the details. Very good story.

This is another must-read from Tiffany Reisz!

For those who have never read the Original Sinners series, this serves as a good stand-alone glimpse of the world. It has the feel of a sexy murder mystery with a complete story arc that serves as a good introduction to existing characters in the world, as well as a few exciting new ones.

For those familiar with the series, this feels a bit like coming home to a warm hot chocolate and curling up on the couch with an old favourite book/movie/person/pet/fill in the blank. Particularly in these turbulent times, this really hit the spot. All your favourite central characters are there, although they've moved on from the more turbulent times in their own lives and have a calmer and more settled air (or as settled as these characters can be).

The Priest once again highlights the brilliance of Tiffany Reisz and her Original Sinners world through the way in which she brings her characters to life, so that you can truly believe you are reading about flesh and blood people. Even if you don't have much in common with the characters, they are written in such a way that anyone can understand and relate to their thoughts, feelings, and actions.

A highly recommended read for fans of the series (you won't be disappointed!) and those looking to test the waters. Warning: this may cause a strong desire to binge read all other books/novellas/short stories in the Original Sinners world.

This is my first book from Tiffany Reisz and I'm grateful that NetGalley gave me the opportunity to read a book from a new author, especially one with such an interesting premise.

First off, in the description, the author notes that this is a jumping off point for new readers. I tend to stay away from jumping into the middle of well-established stories because I hate being lost, but with that description, I thought I would try. I have to say, nope, it was not easy at all to jump in. There were characters and their relationships that obviously had a foundation that a new reader will not be aware of (Nora and Soren, for instance, as well as Soren and Kingsley). These threw me as I kept trying to figure out what was going on.

I don't know if Cyrus was featured in a prior book but the premise of this story is that Cyrus, a PI, is asked to investigate the death of a priest (a supposed suicide but obviously there was suspicion of foul play). That leads him to Nora, who is a romance author and also dominatrix; the PI had called her before his suicide. Cyrus and Nora are interestingly different sides of the spectrum and I loved their banter and how Nora and her friends opened Cyrus' eyes to a new world. The details of the world were well written and actually, I think if I was a long-standing fan, I would have really enjoyed the book even more because there was such an interesting mix of the spiritual and the carnal, a fascinating representation of what one could expect for a book set in New Orleans. Overall, I would definitely give it a shot if I was a long-term fan. I found it interesting but just really confusing as I tried to tease out the underlying relationships that were important enough in the story to throw a new reader like myself.

Book F*#$#@ing 9 in this series! If you follow me and my reviews, you know my ETERNAL love for Tiffany Reisz. I like many readers ASSumed that after she wrote The End of The Queen, that we would get the occasional novellas and/or Christmas stories of our beloved characters from the OS (Original Sinners for you newbies). Then one day scrolling through IG and FB I see this author dropped a bomb in the form of The Priest to be released in April. This author gave it to us two weeks early due to the upheaval that is Corona Virus.

So here I am thinking, well what can this author deliver that she hasn't done in her previous books? Will be stilted, boring, is Søren going to join the circus? None of the above! And true to Tiffany Reisz fashion, the mind fuck will always be there.

Ms. Reisz introduces us to a brand new character, Cyrus Tremont, former cop turned PI and who is his likely sidekick, none other that our favorite Domme, Nora Sutherlin. Our favorite sadistic Priest, Soren, well he took a month long journey after being suspended by the priesthood. King and Juliette well they are awaiting their second baby and true to King's paranoia, on lock down. When the charismatic PI comes knocking on King's door looking for the infamous Nora.

So many questions as to why a priest, who killed himself would have Nora's old business card and hers is the last number he calls before he kills himself. Oh let's not forget the witch, Mercedes that causes a lot of tension as well. Is she a good witch or a bad witch? That my friends I will let you determine for yourself.

So many unexpected twists (hello this is TR we're talking about!). A lot of surprising moments that you will NOT expect. Hot sexy times, but damn it, the water works will come into play while reading. Of course, towards the end, the author will still keep you wondering "will there be a 10th book?" I say yes!

If you are home because of this pandemic and need an escape from reality, and have read the other 8 books in this series, do yourself a favor, READ. THIS. BOOK! For those new to Tiffany Reisz, yeah, you all need to start with The Gift, that will be your introduction, from there go read The Siren.

I love this series and I love this author.

I love Tiffany Reisz as a writer, I absolutely adored the Rose and in the past the sinners series was one of my favorites, this one however just didn’t work for me. I don’t like mysteries, and this one was really boring. I didn’t care for Cyrus or his partnership with Nora. I just didn’t care for the characters I used to love so much.

Soren constantly bringing up Fionn was beyond ridiculous but honestly I have a problem with that entire storyline so.

Also I guess I never noticed it before but Juliette being referred to as “exotic” made me feel very uncomfortable. Reisz doesn’t have many characters of color and that entire paragraph of Cyrus seeing her for the first time was just... yikes.

Just can’t recommend this one and you can’t jump in if you’ve never read the rest of the series either.

Where do I start? I don't want to say too much.

But what I do have to say first ....This is officially book #9 in this series. Tiffany says readers new to the series can read it without knowing anything about the other books. And yes, that may be true ... but I wouldn't do that. I am way too book-OCD-ish to start a series with book 9!! If you want to read this book, please read all the others first - they are SO good! Believe me, you do NOT want to miss any second you can get with our darlings!

Now this book. The Priest. This Priest is not really our Priest - Søren - it's a Priest who killed himself - or was killed - in New Orleans. The city where our darlings now all live. And PI Cyrus is tasked to find out what really happened ... which brings him right into the the adorable and crazy world of Nora and her boys! LOL! Poor guy.

We hear a lot about Nora, Søren, King, Juliette & Celeste. But we also hear a lot about the PI and his future wife Paulina.

The Priest is a bit of a sexy mystery suspense novel. We get lots of New Orleans, lots of interesting and mysterious moments and dangerous moments, very erotic moments. Funny moments. Sad and heartbreaking moments.

There's not much more I want to say. If you love the Sinners, you will love this book too and if you're new to the series - it's a really great story, but you might want to start with book #1 - it would be way too confusing and sad for me - as a new reader - to have missed so much!

I loved reading THE PRIEST. Even though I'm super anti religion, this series and its people are just some of the most beautiful things in the bookworld for me. It was another typical Tiffany Reisz masterpiece.

I can't wait to hear more from our darlings!

*sighs* Reisz did it again - with her beautiful prose, her flawed but likeable characters, with a story that was like a crime novel... I loved everything about The Priest! I especially love the relationships between Søren, Nora, King and the others now that they are older and more mature. The fact that Nora and Søren have know each other for 23 years just makes everything so much better in my opinion.
The new characters who appeared here brought a lot to the story as well, I loved Cyrus, and his fiancée Paulina - while not as present as him - was awesome, too.
The mystery became heart-breaking as the story went on, and it almost broke me to see all the questions both Nora and Søren asked themselves because of it.
