I really liked the behind the scenes of this book. Unfortunately, I read this many years after publication and Colton had already come out. It made a lot of what he wrote irrelevant to present day. Overall, Colton seems like a great guy and I liked learning more about him.

This book felt a bit inauthentic even prior to all the news surrounding Colton. I feel that this was forced like most of Colton's bachelor career and perhaps should not have been published.

I’m super into The Bachelor/The Bachelorette/Bachelor in Paradise. I’ve read a couple of Bachelor-related books before this one. I wasn’t that big a fan of Colton, but I totally listened to this after I saw that Colton came out as gay. I basically felt like he was lying all the time. There was some good “behind the scenes” Bachelor info, so that was worth the read.

Thanks to @NetGalley and Gallery Books for my ARC!

Well I started reading this and then all the drama between them came out with the restraining order and I just cannot support someone who treats another person like that.

I stopped watching the bachelor a long time ago when it became obvious that the producers amd abc cared for about the drama and ratings than the contestants. However, I am an avid ABC news viewer, so the recaps on GMA made me aware of Coltons journey. This book doesn't delve into juicy gossip, but it is an honest portrayal of Coltons life. He seems like a nice guy, and the book is a quick read. It can definitely be enjoyed by people who didn't watch his season.

I'm a long time Bachelor/Bachelorette fan so I was excited to be approved for this book. I'm also a Colton fan. From the show he seemed like an upstanding guy with morals and principles and he stuck to those when others were doing otherwise.

I went into this book knowing exactly what it was supposed to be about and it did not disappoint. The book detailed his life from high school through the woman he fell in love with, Cassie. If one followed along on social media and the myriad of Bachelor/spoiler podcasts one would know everything that was in the book. I do follow all so there weren't really any surprises, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

The book was a fast read, he was very forthcoming about many things and it was heartbreaking when he talked about his parents divorce. The book confirmed and solidified my opinion of him and it was an enjoyable read. I also liked the "behind the scenes" details as I have not read any books by other Bachelor/Bachelorette leads so that was new to me. What goes on behind the scenes is fascinating so his book really satisfied me in that respect.

Overall, a good read, glad I had an opportunity to read it.

This was a fine read, and pretty much just what I expected for a book from a Bachelor/Bachelorette star. The books they've produced have always had a few behind the scene tidbits that are interesting, but there really isn't a lot of deep thoughts or much content past the surface level. I like Colton a lot, so it was fun to read ... but also weird to read after him & Cassie broke up. If you're a fan of the franchise, you'll enjoy this quick mindless read!

The author entices the reader with a detailed look at a unique aspect of life in the spotlight that not many are privy to.

I will not be writing a review for my blog on this, but will post it here, since I did agree to give an honest opinion. I really hate giving books such a low rating, because I know how hard the author works on them. But this one didn't connect well with me. I loved it because his last name is my maiden name and it is about reality shows! But this read like a bad reality show. It fell flat for me. The writing was terrible, kind of like a first draft and I had to put it down at the thirty percent mark.

Welllll this wasn't that surprising honestly.

I wanted to read this one because I'm a sucker for the bachelor and the bachelorette. I know a lot goes on behind the scenes, I've read other books and also love the tv show based on the series called Unreal, so I was thinking maybe there was a lot going on that we didn't see that would make Colton redeemable - but it seems like it played out pretty closely to what really happened lol.

I still didn't understand his obsession with Cassie or his need to defend her when multiple women came forward warning Colton about her and her intentions. I also felt bad for Tia who they made look kind of clingy when in actuality Colton led her on the whole time and had a bigger relationship with her than we saw.

There isn't a lot of gossip or insider information. He does take a dig here and there at some of the girls, but overall he still just comes across as a naive young boy - not a man - who definitely wasn't ready for any of this.

Hopefully he'll grow some more but it just seems like overall he wasn't mature enough for any of the things going on around him.

I'd recommend if you just love the franchise but here's a tip - skip all the football talk, it's boring as hell lol

Came for the Bachelor gossip, left feeling pretty scummy about Colton. I'm surprised that he comes off as arrogant as he does, given that this is his own book. There are a lot of small moments I could point to that made me lose respect for him (the brush-off of the #MeToo movement is one that jumps to mind). But where I really lost him was in his discussions of Cassie during The Bachelor filming. It felt like he was blaming her for everything that went down in the season with their relationship, when it seemed like a lot of her insecurities etc came from her past relationships and the process of being on The Bachelor itself...

Anyway, it's a quick, light read if you're into The Bachelor and want to learn slightly more than we already know about Colton and the franchise. But it's by no means groundbreaking.

As a person who watches The Bachelor religiously, I was excited to read this book. It follows Colton’s life before he was cast for the franchise, his time during all 3 shows and a little glimpse at his life after.

I liked that we got to learn more about his family, his time in High-School, College and with the NFL. I felt his pain when he talked about his parents divorce and his confusion with his thoughts about sex. It broke my heart reading about his relationship with Aly, and how much he cared for her. It was raw and real, but his acceptance and understanding for what she was going through, was that of a real gentleman.

The part I was most excited for, behind the scenes info on The Bachelorette and The Bachelor—it did not disappoint! I liked getting to know how the show works and how Colton stumbled upon the casting call, how he met Tia and their short lived relationship. How he was feeling vying for Becca during her season, and everything he felt while he was The Bachelor. It also helped me understand Cassie better. I was very much team Cassie until she broke up with him on their Fantasy Suite date. I just couldn’t get over the “I don’t knows!” I thought, “Dude, she’s just not that into you.” But after reading everything they were both feeling in the moment, I honestly get it now. The show didn’t accurately show the feelings Cassie had. I know now she was 100% genuine in her feelings for him, she just needed time to step back and articulate them and they both definitely needed more time to really get to know each other.

I’ve been following their journey since after the show and I’m beyond happy and truly excited for their future. Lastly, I’ll always remember, that love is worth jumping a fence for.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It's interesting to read a book from one of the most talked about Bachelor season ever. If anything it made me miss how it used to be because wow a season later things changed. Colon's humor and humbleness translates well into print.

I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much out of this book. To me, Colton has always seemed to be someone very careful with his image and I assumed the same would be shown in his writing. I was wrong! I felt Colton was very open and honest throughout the book and definitely gave us some details that he really didn’t need to put out there. If you watch to season a good amount of the book is really just a recap of that with a little insider information. Truly my favorite part was everything pre-bachelor. Great book and a really fast read especially for those of us who love the franchise.

This was yet another Bachelor memoir. I enjoyed reading about Colton's experience and his life. It was the perfect quarantine book - quick and light.

To be painfully honest, I went into this book really liking Colton Underwood. When I finished it, I found myself liking him a bit less.
There were so many parts of this book that had me cringing, but especially the parts where he hid the truth from so many people in his life. It started at a young age, and I understand not telling people that you’re a virgin- but what really bothered me was that he wasn’t completely upfront & honest with Becca about that fact, or that he had relations with Tia less than a month before coming on the Bachelorette. I had known that he had a history with Tia before even reading this book, because hello, I watched all the seasons Colton was on. I didn’t realize that he didn’t think it was all that important to disclose to Becca. That rubbed me the wrong way a little bit. How could he be dedicated to trying to make a relationship with Becca work if he was canoodling with Tia shortly before going on the show?

I also didn’t realize that he went on Bachelor in Paradise in hopes of becoming the Bachelor. He seemingly knew how Tia felt about him after The Bachelorette, he knew she would be in Paradise, and yet he strung her along. He claims to have been wanting to really see if their relationship could make it, but the book lead me to believe he used Paradise as a stepping stone so to speak for The Bachelor. Thankfully he and Tia didn’t work out, because that girl deserves way better- honestly.

I do have to give Colton mad props, though, for not putting up with the bullshit while he was the Bachelor. I loved how real and vulnerable he was during those chapters, talking about his struggles and how he felt about each girl. It was clear from the beginning that his heart favored Cassie, and I remember watching The Bachelor as it aired and thinking he was making a stupid decision because it was so clear to the audience that Cassie didn’t know what she wanted- she wasn’t ready for what Colton was offering. I was glad to read that he was 100% devoted to making their relationship work, and I loved that he didn’t disclose anything about their sex life because it truthfully isn’t anyone’s business. All the Bachelor insider information was as juicy as I anticipated and it solidified my assumptions that production essentially forced the Bachelor/Bachelorette to keep certain people on for ratings. Even if there was no connection there.

I also loved reading how respectful Colton still so clearly is towards his ex girlfriend, Aly Raisman. She is an Olympic athlete that I look up to, and have the utmost respect for. I loved reading about their relationship and how Colton handled everything throughout.

Thanks so much, Gallery Books, for providing me with this free copy in exchange for my honest review!

As a fan of the Bachelor series who has previously read several Bachelor/Bachelorette "memoirs," I was looking forward to hearing Colton's account of events as well as gleaning some of the "behind the scenes" details I have enjoyed with past tell alls. While some secrets were shared, the book dragged for me. I think this is primarily because of Colton's backstory and level of detail provided into his NFL career. While this may not be fair to Colton, I was more interested in reading about the Bachelor and his interactions versus learning about his life.

I found Colton’s voice extremely engaging, and the inside info given entertaining and fun! Would definitely recommend amongst Bachelor Nation books!

A must read for Bachelor/ Bachelorette fans. Colton opens up about growing up, his football career and how he ended up the Bachelor. I really enjoyed some of the behind the scenes info about the reality show.

Okay, let me just start by staying that as a huge Bachelor fan, I just had to read this!! I watched all the seasons that Colton was on, so I knew a little bit about his football career, but this book went into much more detail, & even though I’m not a big football person, I did find it interesting. I actually really enjoyed reading this, and I think it made me like Colton more as a person. While I was reading, I noticed that I agreed with a lot of Colton’s views on things, & as a result, he was much more relatable to me. I liked that he talked about what happened behind the scenes when he was on the show. Not only did I find that interesting, but it was cool to get a sneak peak at the production of a show that I love watching. For those who like the Bachelor series as much as I do, I would recommend this!
