2.5 stars.
“Spark”, by Gillian Archer, features a scarred, tortured hero with a tender, soft side, and a heroine still hurting because of past misunderstandings and fate setbacks, in a story about second chances.
I liked the characters, even if not identifying with them, and found the beginning very engaging, along with the premise of the wounded hero. I was disappointed that Logan’s wounds weren’t the story focus and were underdeveloped or kind of forgotten as the plot progressed, as if the author only wanted to make a superficial, quick foray into the wounded hero trope.
I didn’t dislike the story, but it lacked the sort of intensity and depth I usually enjoy and so I skipped a lot: the sex scenes, the conversations about emotional/family stuff between Sabrina and her brothers/parents or between Logan and his friends and all the mundane activities involving puppies, babies and reality shows.

Even having not read previous books in this series, it was very easy to follow along. Gillian Archer does an excellent job keeping you current. I loved Logan and Sabrina! There was so much heartache on both sides that I wanted to weep. This was a great story from start to finish. I’m going to go back and read any that came before this one!
5 stars!

I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley.

The story itself was ok, but it took quite a while to get rolling. Just an ok read.

Logan has to be the voice of reason at times, "...quickly evolved to hands wandering into locations they shouldn’t. “Oomph.” I groaned when she’s found my already lengthening hard-on. “We’re not doing that tonight, angel.” I liked this book, I liked Logan.

This was a cute and light-hearted book, however it took me over half of the book to get into it.

I really enjoyed Logan and Sabrina's story as well as the related cast of characters. The book was fun, sexy, and very relatable. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series. Four chilli peppers of hotness.

Logan and Sabrina had a two month relationship before he got his orders to go fight fires for the summer. Promising to come back, he ends up getting seriously hurt in a fire that kills one of his best friends. Even though Sabrina tries to reach him during his hospitalization and recovery, Logan ghosts her because he is in such a dark place. Sabrina had some dark times too so when he shows up back in town two years later she doesn't want anything to do with him. They end up realizing how they feel about each other and how rare that feeling is in this second chance at love romance. Recommended.

I really liked this book. Despite not having read the previous books in the series I felt like it was pretty easy to follow along with the large cast of characters and some of the things that were covered in the previous books. Sabrina and Logan are amazing together. And Sabrina's brothers are adorable. The book is filled with strong characters and a good storyline. I look forward to the rest of the series and catching up on the previous two books.

I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel via Netgalley and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.

I have a love relationship with stories about families and how they interact, especially if they are all protective of each other – that can mean either alpha males or females. That is why I like the Burns Brothers so much. Even though they sometimes barge in at the most inappropriate times, it is always what they feel is best. Logan is a perfect hero for me. He is tortured and does what he thinks is best but it is not always what is best. Sabrina is the badass Burns who is hurt in more than one way and has to figure out how to live with it. Logan and Sabrina together are off the charts exciting and hot! I will admit that I teared up a bit at the end of the story. A great read in this series. I look forward to the next book, maybe Nathan and Maddie?!?!

Hot! Loved that little sis Sabrina gets her hot hero!

Gillian Archer's writing is entertaining and fun, all while being steamy and sexy. Logan and Sabrina have a past that was abruptly halted and then Logan ghosted Sabrina. She's tried to move, but once Logan is back in town she realizes she hasn't. Logan has had an extremely difficult 2 years since he left Sabrina and he's not yet ready to talk about what happened. The thing is- same for Sabrina.

This story had lots happening and it all comes together to make for a very fascinating read and HEA.

I was almost afraid to think it. Could one more bad thing happen in Sabrina and Logan's life? A lot of drama in this book. I loved it!

Spark is the story of Logan and Sabrina getting their second chance. An accident left Logan struggling for life and pulling away from everyone. Sabrina was struggling for her own life and two years later they are in each other’s lives once again but with a lot of hurt resentment and a lot of other crap.

Sabrina is used to holding it all together but her life is imploding. Logan being back is just icing on the cake. Their chemistry is still there and burns bright can they survive all the baggage lies and secrets swirling around ? It was good to read and I enjoyed it a lot.

This series keeps getting better. I almost decided not to read this one after reading the synopsis but I like the author and thought it was worth a chance. I am so glad I did because this was well worth the couple of hours invested in this second chance story. I liked having the focus on Sabrina, the more even tempered member of the family. Although she has a lot of drama swirling around her life she remains a strong character and I really want to join her book club. Logan was a dream hero- puppy loving, a little grumpy and dealing with scars internally and externally. Forced together and given the opportunity to address their pasts it is clear that closure is not exactly what they want from each other. Some of the dialogue and character reactions to things seemed a bit wonky to me and would take me out of the story but overall a solid read and I cannot wait for the next book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Talk about chemistry!
Fire and flames!

Sabrina and Logan are meant to be! They just simply should be together. And no amount of drama or time can prevent this HEA!
I loved getting glimpses of the brothers. And of course, now I can hardly wait for Nathan’s story. I really hope his is next.

Great story!
I highly recommend this one! Can be read on its own. But the whole series is great!

This a continuation of the Burn Family, this time about the little “sister “ (really cousin) Sabrina. The story starts out in the past showing her dating firefighter Logan who’s about to go off on for a long term wild fire mission. Unfortunately both Sabrina and Logan had some personal tragedies and two years later they meet up again. The second time around has a rough start as both have changed. Through in some new Burn’s family drama, PTSD, and puppies you have a lot of drama. All being said this did seem more realistic than the scenarios in book one and two making both leads very relatable and likable. There is a soft amount of heat, more about dealing with the relationship but very enjoyable. You do not need to read the other books in the series although I do recommend both. 4.5 stars . I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

A second chance romance for Logan and Sabrina.
She has not seen him since he left to fight forest fires 2 years ago. A lot has happened to them both since then and things are made worse when he pretends not to recognise her. But the attraction is still there, so will they have a nother chance?

I have not read the rest of the series but looking forward to catchin up on it!

I enjoyed the backstory of the firefighters And their bond in this book. I liked the Maine characters though I did feel like there were some additional characters that made the story branch off in some directions without conclusion. I have to assume Archer may have a plan for them in future writings.
Logan and Sabrina had a thriving relationship a couple of years ago when Logan had to leave to fight wildfires. Following his return, he avoided contact from Sabrina leaving her to believe he was done with the relationship. Suddenly Logan appears to do some work at her family’s business and the Spark is reignited. Meanwhile, there are several other backstories and dramatic storylines and though some of these I felt struck me as more hard to believe than being a shocking plot twist, the story still kept me engaged and I enjoyed reading this book. I would recommend it to others who enjoy romance.

Sabrina and Logan were dating, when he went to fight wildfires with his friends..

Fast forward two years and things are different. Sabrina works for her brothers at their motor cycle shop and Logan works for an installation company as he was injured and is not that happy-go-lucky guy anymore. Both have suffered heartache and pain. It doesn't stop there: there's a lot of family drama, friend drama and unresolved feelings that arise from all the changes that they're all going through. It's a tough road for both of them as they try to deal with everything and also work out their feelings for each other.

I liked Sabrina and Logan as they both were portrayed realistically. The drama on top of drama was a little much. Talk about overprotective brothers!

I can see the future storylines coming into play and look forward to reading future books in the series..

Scorching hotness with internal and external scars is the best description of this book. I love this author and I love this series.

Arc through #NetGalley: 3-3.5 stars

This was a cute and fun read. It took me until chapter 16 to really get into it and develop a connection with the characters, but it didn’t suck before that either. It’s very obviously utilizes two tropes that I’m not super into which could be part of why it’s more of a three star read for me, but I could easily see it being a 3 1/2 or four star for others.

Are two main characters were in a relationship a long a few years ago they were separated due to unforeseen circumstances and randomly meet again. Their new connection re-develops from there. My issue with the first half of the book was that it jumped from drama to drama to drama, which is acknowledged by characters as it happens. I’m not sure if that makes it better or worse. I will also say I haven’t read the previous books yet so that might mitigate some of my issues with not knowing the characters very well at first.

Ultimately, I would recommend this. It’s a fun, light read that has enough plot to keep a reader’s attention.
