Hooked on You was a fun book to read. It took place in a small town and had lots of fun characters and small-town humor. The romance between two extremely opposite types of people was an interesting plot. Kira and Nate from different worlds, she was studious and a math genius while he was a corporate CEO. Kira was not as worldly and couldn’t keep from falling in love with Nate who didn’t want commitment. There was so much humor that I laughed the entire book. I hope to see the side characters in future books. They were all so sweet and played such a great role in this book.

Kira and Nate are complete opposites. She is a nerdy mathematician and he is a business man. The way they meet is the first hint that opposites attract. The story is told by the character's point of view, however it works in the this book. The characters are relatable and the humor involved will make you laugh out loud. The story not only focuses on Nate and Kira but also on the whole town. It makes you want to take a trip and become part of this group of people involved.

In closing I want to say the quirkiness of the story as well as the emotions involved will pull you in. This is a read you will not want to put down and one you will go back to over and over again.

I love small town romances and this was a great one! It's a great combination of funny, swoony, and a little rumor mill mystery - just right for being stuck in the house needing an escape. Kira and Nate are a great couple, and the town itself is such a great setting that you can't help but fall in love with it. This is a great romance with lots of feels, but nothing too dark.

When Kira's saved from being trampled by an angry horse, the hot lobster fisherman who saves her instantly charms her. She knows she's not his type, but darned if she doesn't wish she were.

But perhaps she is exactly Nate's type, perhaps the two can navigate a temporary no strings fling, and come out of it with their hearts intact and none the worse for wear. Or perhaps they just might come out of it with their hearts in each other's hands, full of love for each other and this whimsical small town and its residents.

Hooked on You is so sweet and charming. Small town romances can be too cute, but here it's got enough wit and a little tiny bit of steam so it balances everything out. Plus there's a blind cow in love with Nate, a ninja mouse, funny, loving fisherman and chosen families, with a whole little town who's embraced newcomer Nate and one of its own, Kira. I adored Nate with his sweet, loving personality, and perhaps wished he were paired with someone a bit more confident in herself, as Kira's insecurities were kind of annoying after awhile. If she mentioned she was a mathematician one more time I might have screamed. Aside from Kira though, I fell in love with this small town in Nova Scotia and all its inhabitants.

This book definitely had me hooked. I could't put it down. I loved the characters so much. They made me want to go visit the small town. The citizens of the town are like a family. This is a book the pulls at the heart strings. It broke my heart Kira never got closure with her Gram, but watching the town rally around her and share their memories warmed my heart. Now Nate is delicious. He's going to make you easily swoon and fall for him. The quirkiness of the town is what makes it special. Those were some of my favorite parts of the book especially the someone who has a crush on Nate. The best part for me is the sense of home Kira feels. With her big heart she deserves what the town and it's people have to offer. This is definitely a make you feel good story you won't want to miss out on. I would highly recommend this one. Make sure you pick a quiet spot with uninterrupted time because this a book that you get frustrated if people interrupt your reading time for sure!

This one was a little dull for me. It started off great and I loved how Kira and Nate met and end up living at the B&B. But, after that, it slowed down for me. I struggled to finish it.

This book has it all! Family, friendship, community, love, and crazy animals! Kira and Nate start out friendly, but feel drawn together. He saves her from a crazy horse, that's when the fun begins. Kira starts to come out of her shell, experience more life than she has before, due to Nate and the rest of the motley crew at her Gram's B&B. I loved all the characters in this story, how they gelled and accepted Kira with open arms. They were hilarious, protective, caring, and so sweet. This book is such a feel good story that I hated to put down to get my own life events done. I could honestly keep reading about this little town and all its inhabitants. I want more from them. I think this is a story I could revisit frequently.

Hooked by you was the first book I ever read from this author and it was an okay read. The story starts with the Kira, a mathematician who bumps into a hot fisherman on her way to sell her late grandmother's bed and breakfast. The attraction between the two is instantaneous and she wastes no time before inviting him for dinner. Nate Montgomery-Lancaster is a fisherman and the owner of a multi-million dollar company. He is looking for a place to build facilities for his fishing business and Lunenburg is a great place. Nate soon discovers that the B and B he is temporarily staying at is the same B and B the attractive woman he ran into owns the property. They go out to dinner after it's evident that Kira is not able to cook the dinner she previously promised. It was refreshing to have a woman main character who was not automatically great at cooking. I also loved Izzy's personality, Izzy was a fisherman staying at the B and B with Nate and other fishermen. Ms. Fox knows how to write a sex scene, Nate and Kira's flirtation brought them to an appropriation resolution. They vowed to enjoy each other with no expectation of a future together. Hooked by you was a sweet funny romantic comedy. The parts I did not like about this book was I felt like Kira felt too comfortable with Nate at first. Spoiler: When Kira burned her dinner and Nate gallantly rescued the oven from the burnt chicken she felt too comfortable chatting with a man she just met in her underwear in the kitchen. The initial meeting of the two love birds also felt forced. I appreciated that they didn't just fall into bed and I got a glimpse of the personalities of the supporting characters. I think it was original to bring in Bridgette the cow, I love animals in romance. Hooked by you was an okay read, I didn't connect with the characters. The story is well written and I believe if you're looking for a quirky romance set in a beautiful small town then this book is for you.

I always have a soft spot for small town romance with all the charm that comes with it, a tight community and great supportive characters that would make you fall in love with this town.
I guess I got that part from Hooked On You, this town was charming, the interactions with the characters were sweet and funny.
Kira came back to her Gram’s hometown to sell the B&B and crossed paths with Nate, the sexy and charming fisherman. So in her way to run her mother’s wish to sell it, she falls in town little by little with the people and him.
When I felt the connection between the town and herself, I couldn't feel it between the main characters, with all the unsaid or mostly misunderstandings around these two.
Several times, it felt flat to me. The hot parts didn’t help even if they were well written. I missed the chemistry that would have made me fall in love with them.
The spark was missing, it felt forced at some point, to push the characters together.
Unfortunately it didn’t work to me. The small town part was great and it was definitely an endearing community but I couldn’t connect with the main characters.

3.8/5 🦄

This book ended up being very sweet, but not quite a four star read. Before I started, I could tell that this book had all the tropes I love—small towns, close and nosy neighbors that are like family, the community aspect, etc. When I started, I thought this book was not going to get past those tropes. It felt shallow and the lack of depth made it a really slow start. The middle of this book is where it reaches its stride. The characters really start to stand out, the community aspects feel more realistic, the side characters become important. The pacing is off. The big issue comes 90% into the book and is resolved quickly. Then it ends on perhaps the most expected and most corny ending possible, and the epilogue actually gives a bit more to the story that I would argue is needed—the ending would be abrupt without it to dispel some of the absurdity. So it’s altogether a complicated book to review. I enjoyed it. But it was slow going. I had to force myself to keep going after four chapters. But it gets better and it turned out to be pretty sweet. The main problem is not much of a problem and is completely predictable. The ending is predictable. But that middle part really makes up for it. It’s fluffy and sweet so you won’t have to worry about it tearing your heart out. It’s a pick me up of a book like a Frappuccino in the afternoon. Sugary and full of unnecessary calories but it meets expectations and is a bit of a treat—a break from the serious after a long day. Yeah, serious stuff is part of it—if you’ve recently lost your grandmother, beware the feels! But mostly it’s light. Check it out if you are looking for the small town, friends are family vibe and aren’t too picky.

This promised a delightful escape and it delivered to its promise. Kira and Nate navigate you through their story which has the needed bits of humor needed in the times now. Charming place and characters that make it come to colorful life. Not your usual B and B but that colors the story. The cow just mooed on in too. Relaxes you along with the chemistry you see that builds where you fall in love too with a town that seems delightful.

I really liked Hooked On You. A sweet romantic read with amusing characters. I loved Kira and Nate. A funny first meeting between the two. The B & B and its guests were intriguing and fun. I loved the tight knit group and the way they cared for Kira. I loved the ending and I'm looking forward to reading more of this Authors work.

I give Hooked On You 4 stars for its sweet, romantic read.
I would recommend this book to Romance Fans.

After the death of her Grandmother Kira finds herself in Nova Scotia to sell the Bed & Breakfast that she owned. She is a woman who is more comfortable with facts and figures rather than people but when she arrives and finds that a group of fisherman continue to live in and look after her Grandmother’s home she finds something she never expected to find and that is a sense of belonging.

Nate is working as a fisherman but that isn’t the only reason that he is town. He becomes Kira’s white knight when he rescues her from an errant horse and she is not disappointed when she finds out that he is one of the men staying at the Bed & Breakfast.

When they both came to town they expected it was only supposed to be temporary but they may just find out that in each other and the town they may have found a place to call home. This is a heartwarming story filled with heat, humor and quirky secondary characters.

4.5 Stars for Hooked On You
Cathryn Fox is a new author to me but that’s about to change because I fell hook, line and sinker for the fisherman and the other residents of a small town in Nova Scotia.
Kira hasn’t been back to town for a while but she is back to sort out her late grandmothers affairs and that means selling the B&B the place she has so many happy childhood memories from. What she doesn’t expect is the B&B to still have customers staying and certainly not fisherman who seem to be paying on an honour system. Kira the bookworm finds herself out of her comfort zone and needing help and that’s where Nate a lobster fisherman comes in.....
What follows is a meeting with a runaway horse, a blind cow who is guided around town by a calf and a very entertaining quirky story. The characters are adorable and the banter is witty and I really hope this author gives us more from the secondary characters in the fun read. This book has the perfect mix of humour, love and romance and I enjoyed every minute of it so I highly recommend this gem.

Hooked On You is full of ridiculously absurd and yet somehow plausibly real situations. I fought the giggles more times than I could count.

It all started with a rogue horse. We are there for an adorable white knight meet cute, encounter frisky bovines, learn to play terrible games. I think I have developed an affinity for belligerent office supplies, cheesy puns, and the best worst pick up lines.

Not only was it entertaining and funny, Hooked On You was a smile like an idiot with happiness pouring off of you in waves story. Love is in the air in this tiny corner of Nova Scotia and I wouldn't mind sticking around to see who falls next...hook, line, and sink her!

This was a first time read by Cathryn Fox and it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. I really loved small town setting in Nova Scotia and it makes me want to visit there some day. Plus, I just love romance stories set in a small town, pair that up with the group of hilarious fisherman, it's bound to be an interesting read.

For the first 20%, I was really loving everything. Great introduction to both characters and I love a good nerdy character. Kira was a mathematician and extremely smart, but I wasn't a fan of the low opinion that she had of herself. Definitely wasn't the kind of heroine that I generally like to read about, so I had trouble connecting with her.

Even though we go through the motions of Nate and Kira spending quite a bit of time together, I couldn't quite feel the chemistry between them. I can't exactly pinpoint why, but I didn't feel it at all.

Hooked On You is a cute small town romance that I think many will enjoy, I just need a bit more.

On ok read. Kira and Nate were an ok couple for me. They just didn’t seem to click for me at first. It took a while for them to grow on me. It just wasn’t for me but it could be for many others. Loved the small town feel but I am a small town girl so it was nice to read about a place that wasn’t busy.

I read an early review copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is a cute contemporary romance read from this author. The characters, Lara and Nate are so lovable, you will fall in love with them from the start. The characters had funny, sexy banter between them. This is such an adorable read that you will be hooked from the first page. This is the first book by this author that I've read and it definitely won't be the last.

I am unequivocally in love with this book!

I jumped at the chance to read this book when I saw it was set in Nova Scotia. I spent time in Halifax years ago and fell in love with all things Nova Scotia. I have wanted to return to the island ever since. This fictional and virtual adventure to Lunenburg solidified that longing. Using the power of all things Google, I found myself exploring Lunenburg and looking up pumpkin boat racing (yes, it's a thing). Reading this gave me such a jolt of happiness and quickly put Cathryn Fox on my radar.

What made this story so great is the characters and the dialogue. They all seemed so real to me. I found myself with a non-stop smile and when I had to put the book down for some real-life activities, I couldn't wait to get back to it. The meet-cute between Kira Palmer and Nate Montgomery is unapparelled, and it just gets better and better.

It was glorious to see brainiac Kira allow herself to fall for Nate, and for businessman Nate to find a community and his person despite his objections to "being a keeper." They are surrounded by a wonderful cast of secondary characters with Sam and his punny jokes firmly leading the pack. Not far behind is Bridgette, the blind cow who is in love with Nate, and the larger group of lobster fishermen and B&B roommates with some of the best hearts. As with all great love stories, there's some conflict to be had, but not before Kira and Nate could recognize their feelings, if only to themselves.

This a definitely one of my top favorite Rom-Com reads EVER, and I book I highly recommend. 5++ Stars.
