This cute, coastal, small town contemporary about two unlikely people falling in love was given to me in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley and Entangled Publishing.
I was so excited when I was approved for this book. It’s about a girl going to her grandmother’s old B&B to get it ready for sale after her passing. While there the girl falls in love with a man just in town for the season and wonders if she shouldn’t stay. It has all the wintery coastal vibes that I love, it has a found family (a freaking found family in a romance), and a blind cow who is so adorable. How could I not want to read it?!

I think the romance is cute and I was definitely rooting for the couple, but I think the heart of what made me enjoy this book so much is the side characters. I love the found family element to this story. It wasn’t something I was expecting going into the novel. I think you get so much of their personality and backstory that they feel like family to you too. I think there’s room to build on this and do a few companion novels with Jason, Cody, Izzy, and Sam. I also really enjoyed the town. I’ve always been a fan of the East Coast in the winter. I don’t know why really, but I love the Fall to Winter time frame in this book. It really adds so much to the feel of the place. It feels like this could easily be picked up for a Lifetime or Hallmark movie for a movie set near Christmas (just add a dash of tinsel and a tree or two).

I do think there were moments that felt too easy or too unbelievable, but if I can watch Hallmark movies and love them, I can suspend my disbelief for this book. I think the end does feel a little too quick. We spent so much time falling in love with all the characters and the town and not enough time going over the conflict and picking up the pieces. I think another solid 15 pages is really all that would have been necessary to make it work. I also had a little trouble with the sex scenes. There are a few of those and I think they’re done pretty well, but I’m not a big fan of dirty talk and there’s some of that during the sex scenes. Just a personal preference.

It’s a quick and cute read that I had so much fun with. Definitely worth picking up when it comes out on April 27th.

I LOVED this book...until the ending, whhhyyyyy. You guys know I love cute, small town romances with hunky lobstermen LOL, especially if they're gentlemen who seek to protect you & make you dinner & accidentally become the love interest of blind cows! And let's not forget about the people who lived with Nate at the B&B, they were an absolute crack! The thing is, I don't like hasty and unbelievable endings. Yeah, okay, a blind cow having a crush on a human is kinda out there, but it's cute at the same time...RIGHT?! Without spoiling what I think is a meh ending, I'll just say that I would've preferred they had fought it out, or just SOMETHING that evoked more emotion, ya know.

P.S. I hope this book is part of a series because I really looooved Sam and hope he gets his HEA! -JH

I loved this book from the first chapter!!

I loved the character of Kira. I could relate to her so much. She is a little shy, a little risk adverse nerdy girl who just wants to belong. Her parents are very cold to her and the only living relative that truly loved her has passed. I liked how she wanted to stay true to her grandma and honor her wishes.

Nate was a great book boyfriend. He was hot, humble and kind. The way he handled the cow that was in love with him was sweet!! I liked that he just "got" Kira, quirks and all. He has a great relationship with the men of the house and also the town.

I also really liked the town and the characters in the town. If there was a place like this, I would happily pack my bags and move there. They are all nosy and in everyone business but they do truly care!

This quirky small town romance had me laughing, smiling, and feeling all-around good! There were some emotional moments, but for the most part, this rom-com bounced along as our leads fell in love, and the town swept them up. You know those “just for now” romances, because we have to go somewhere else to live our lives, this is that. But the now they are in, that is a town that they fall in love with as much as they fall for each other. The tipping point had me openly sobbing along with our heroine, but the town, and our hero, come to the rescue to bring out the smiles again. I loved the characters, I loved the romance, the steaminess, and I loved the town and the residents, I simply loved it all!

Hooked on You by Cathryn Fox a five-star read that will hook you, line and sinker. This is my first read by this author but I am sure it wont be the last, I will admit that It wasn’t all five-stars, a couple of bits just didn’t make it that great, but honestly the overall was so worth it. This is a great small-town romance, but it does have some great twists, like neither of the main characters are small town people, but that just makes it more real and the ending much sweeter. The secondary characters in this one just makes the whole story, and I include the animals in those secondary characters as they play a massive part in showing us different softer sides to a certain someone. This was a lovely sweet and romantic story and one that you would be sunk if you miss.

There are so many charming things about this small town romance- a lovesick cow, a house full of fishermen who run a B&B on the honor system, a gas station that refuses modernize, and an a-hole horse to name a few. I wish I hadn’t found the romance at the heart of it kind of boring. Nothing about Kira or Nate really interested me after their rather adorable meet cute. I still had fun reading about everything else in this book and was happy to read it in exchange for an honest review.

I would like to thank #EntangledAmara for sending my this ARC of #HookedOnYou By Cathryn Fox through #NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Hooked On You is written by New York Times, and USA Today bestselling author Cathryn Fox, and it is actually my first time reading her work, despite her having many books on the market, and literally lives in a neighboring province. I won't lie, one of the reasons I was happy to be selected to review this book was because its written by a Canadian author, and its setting is in Nova Scotia.

Do you like Hallmark movies? You know the ones I'm talking about right? The ones many women go nutty over, because of the sappy romance? Well, Hooked On You, kind of reads like a Hallmark movie. Girl meets guy. They are brought together by circumstance and coincidence, and get to know one another. In this time, they fall in love. There is a conflict, but it gets resolved quickly and easily, they kiss finally, and they get a happily ever after.

So why do I say, it's kind of like a Hallmark movie? Well, fun fact for this romance novel enthusiast ... I hate Hallmark movies. They are cheesy, and they are always the same. And I really liked Hooked On You. While following the classic romance plot line, Cathryn Fox managed to keep the story unique and fun, and unlike Hallmark movies, sexy. The only issue I really had that it's written in third person, which I am traditionally not a fan of, and sometimes I felt like the writing didn't flow as well as it could have.

The characters are great. We have two intelligent protagonists, who are ultimately kind-hearted, and lonely because of their family circumstances. Their attraction to one another makes sense, and their obvious chemistry with one another pop right out at you. Some writers have trouble conveying chemistry between their characters, but Cathryn Fox does not, and it shows in this book. The side characters were just as fun to read, and she set this book up, so if she wanted to continue with this family of friends finding love, she could (Sam and Khloe, next perhaps?) Being a maritimer herself, she did a great job writing small town characters, with the classic dose of kindness and generosity, and sense of humor. The characters reminded me of people I encounter every day, which I loved.

In the end, Hooked On You is a great novel for a light read. It's romance, but it also is a story about family, and community. It's funny. Sweet. Has the good, romantic parts of a Hallmark romance but with adult content that I like in romance novels. I loved it, I know you will love it, and I can't wait to explore some of Cathryn Fox's other works soon.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I requested the ARC based on the cover and the description and am ever so thankful that I was granted a copy. I laughed and I cried while reading Nate and Kira’s story. This is not your regular romance book, there are so many wonderful characters to get to meet. I hope there are several more books to come, hopefully a large series!

This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and I know it won’t be my last!

**I received a copy of Hooked on You from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a honest review. My opinion wasn't solicited in any way.**

Hooked on You by Cathryn Fox is a funny and refreshing book set in a fishing town in Nova Scotia and will have you hook, line, sinker, and lovesick blind cow who loves Nate. Sorry I couldn't resist on the fishing pun. Truly you'll love the family feeling that Sam, Nate, Jason, Cody and Izzy give Kira who has always wanted a family.

Kira has come to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia to sell her Gram's B & B and is saved by Nate from being run over by Eddy the escapee horse. When she meets the boarders at her Gram's home (Loved the Pickle Jars honor system) she'll find that even though Gram is gone she still has ways of helping Kira and almost everyone either has a recipe or fond memories of the lessons she gave in painting. When the entire town pulls together to save the house Kira will discover how much Gram meant to everyone. But will she stay or return to Victoria when she finds out who the Nate really is?

Nate believes in being hands on working the lobster boats and in the factory. But his father has made it clear he needs to prove to him and older brothers by building a new seafood processing factory but run problem that will put a kink into building. Little does he know that when he saves Kira that he'd lose more than his heart when she finds out who wants to buy Gram's studio. It will take all of her honorary brothers and sister to make him realize that she needs to stay forever.

What a fun and adorable book! I fell in love with the town and its eccentricities. I'm hoping there will be more books featuring Kira's "brothers". I thought that Kira would start painting again though but it didn't happen, which I thought was a small overlooked opportunity to evolve her character further. Great read! Highly recommended.

The towns people and the others living in the B and B made this book extra special. They were my favorite part. This would have been a great first book in a series. I could see so many more stories.

LOVED this book! This is a delightful romance between Kira and Nate that started with a no-relationship agreement. Each is keeping a secret from the other and neither knows just how entwined their lives are....which leads to a satisfying conclusion.

I can't say enough good about this book. I was totally engrossed in the characters story and felt invested in them getting a HEA ending. The only negative is I was sorry when it ended. If I could give this more than five stars, I would.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. Put it at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Nate really does like to tease, “normally I am.” I smack him, and he laughs and asks, “Okay, what am I right about?” I liked this book, I liked Nate and I also liked the other characters of the the book.

Love this author and Hope we get more of these characters in a possible series. Small town Lobster Hooking Community in Canada set the scene for "Hooked on You". Kira is a mathematics gem who travels across the country to sell her beloved grandmother's B&B. Feeling the grief of this trip overwhelming her; Kira is shocked that this whole community loved her Gram as much as she did. Many amazing characters in this novel along with the ever handsome Nate. Lots going on through the pages that will not disappoint. "A copy of this book was provided by Entangled via NetGalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

The story of Kira and Nate. She is in town to sort out her grandmothers house to sell. She mistakes him for a fisherman, instead of the company CEO, and he does nothing to set her straight. Soon they are spending more time together and she is falling for him, but what will happen when she discovers his secret?

A great set of side characters too, who share the B&B with Kira and Nate. Hoping that this is a series so we find out their stories too.

Kira, finally returns to her Grandmother's home long after her death to arrange the sale of her B&B and is surprised to find it is being used by a group of local lobster fishermen who are keeping the house in shape and paying their way by filling old jars with cash. She is charmed by their welcome and the weird and quirky happenings around town. Her path crosses that of Nate another resident who who turns out to be irresistible. Despite agreeing to no strings, Kira finds it difficult to disentangle her heart. Fun, cosy and atmospheric.

This was a cute small town romance between two unlikely people. I'm a big fan of small town settings because they usually deliver so many fun side characters and some interesting charm to the town. You definitely get that with Hooked on You. There are plenty of characters to help you fall in love with this town and makes you want more books on some of these hunky men. You also get that quirky small town charm with a love sick cow and an angry horse. Overall, it's a cute story with a lot of quirkiness, some a bit unbelievable, but I still enjoyed it for what it was.

I loved this book. I loved the pace of the book and the silliness of the town. I loved the friendships.

Kira and Nate are the cutest couple. Both have their hang ups and both have their amazing qualities. It’s great to see them blossom around each other.

Overall a good read. I can’t wait to see what Cathryn Fox does next.
