We finally get twin, Graeme Kendrick's story. Who is the perfect lass for this highlander? Why Lady Sabrina Bell, the only child of a wealthy English earl, and the goddaughter of the King....and boy is she a spitfire!

While Graeme is working undercover for King’s spymaster early one morning, he witnesses someone attacking a woman and pushing her into the Serpentine. Graeme really wants to chase after the assailant, but ends up rescuing the woman out of the water instead. Of course said woman is Lady Sabrina Bell. Graeme finds it curious that Lady Sabrina is out and about unescorted that early in the morning but still ends up helping her out. This starts their war of wills. Both of these two are stubborn and passionate about everything in their lives....which of course always makes for a good match! ;)

When Graeme is tasked with providing security for the King for his trip to Scotland, he is completely thrown when Lady Sabrina shows up getting off the ship. Of course the Kendrick's clan find this new turn of events amusing! As Graeme and Lady Sabrina spend more time together, feelings toward each other start to change and before they know it, they find themselves yearning for the other. When it appears that someone is out to harm Lady Sabrina, Graeme's alpha protective ways start to show and these two have a fun showdown! Of course it also causes them to profess their love for each other too!

It was so fun watching these two stubborn, headstrong individuals fall hard! I just adored Lady Sabrina. She is a great, kick butt, take no prisoners type of person and putting her up against a redheaded alpha male highlander provided for some great moments. Together they brought us a great story and a perfect happy ending!

Will a determined Lady be able to change a stubborn Scot’s mind ...

What a fun and lovely read it was.
Mrs Vanessa Kelly delivers a lively, full of sass and hot Scots and as much tempered Sassenachs read.
I had a smile on my face for most of my reading time, from the incongruous situations to the funny banters, it was quite an entertaining story.

Lady Sabrina is what can be called a disaster in waiting. From their first encounter, misfortunes seem to follow her every step, and it makes Graeme’s life quite more complicated.
She is the managing sort, having ran her father’s household for year. She is also intrepid and not one to be shaken even when danger lurks around.
She also takes a lot of risk and raises Graeme’s ire when she steps right in perilous situation.
Graeme is burly man hiding a heart of gold, why he diverts from his path each time she endangers herself.
And while chemistry arises between them, he holds back feeling he does not deserve her. His past actions and childhood wounds refrain him to act on his emerging sentiments.

Their romance is one of two determined persons, she for not giving up on him and thus going against him at time and him by accepting that his flaws do not make him unworthy of love.

It was also a great pleasure to see again the lot of Kendricks, from their antics to silly banters.
This 4.5 stars read brightened my day with this bunch of gregarious but quite extrovert and noisy characters.

I was granted an advance copy by the publisher Kensington, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

Excitement, suspense, intrigue and love abound in this story. I couldn't stop turning pages and finished the book quickly. You'll enjoy yourself reading this.

Och, Vanessa always makes me laugh with her witty conversations. This series is rolling on the floor laugh out loud hilarious. You have grumpy Graeme who use to be a hellraiser and “don’t give me attitude” Sabrina who looks like a serene lady. What could possibly go wrong? Well, everything in Graeme’s opinion. I swear he acts like an old man sometimes. I’m laughing writing this review. Throw in his siblings and Grandda Angus and you have something to behold. This book is a light, fun read that will keep you captivated the whole time you are reading it. If you have never tried Vanessa’s books, you really should.

A guilty pleasure! Lady Sabrina and Graeme Kendrick likely would not have met if he hadn't saved her from a thief and fished her out of the water. Well, they might have but they would not have met in a way that placed them on the same level. She's a god daughter of the King and he runs spy operations for the King. She's a strong woman- ahead of her time. He's a hot Scot (sorry, only way to put it). This has a fair amount of rescuing (he gets kidnapped too!) in addition to the usual Regency drawing room chat. Oh and there's a bit of steam. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. I had not read the first two books in the series but that was ok- this worked fine as a standalone. For fans of the genre and those looking for a fun diversion.

The Highlander's English Bride by Vanessa Kelly is about Graeme Kendrick an inquiry agent for the crown and Lady Sabrina Bell a headstrong young miss. The two meet through the course of one of Graeme's cases when he's forced to abandon his quarry to save Sabrina. I was excited to pick up this book from NetGalley since I am such a large fan of Scottish heroes. The blurb on the back and the cover art also sold me on this new to me author.
Unfortunately, I found myself becoming bored with the story very early in the novel. Through Graeme is pursuing a well known thief the action was sadly lacking for me. Much of the story was spent in ballrooms or drawing rooms discussing family members or previous events. There were so many characters introduced within the first few chapters that I was easily confusing who was married to whom and what their importance was to the ongoing story.
I found both Graeme and Sabrina to be flat and uninteresting. Additionally, Sabrina kept making decisions that felt needlessly reckless and only written to current "tension" in the story. Graeme had hints of being a much more interesting character, but the information was doled out so slowly that by the time we get anything of interest I didn't care anymore.
Overall this gets a 2 from me. I think the writing was technically good, the story just needed a huge injection of action to save it. Perhaps fans of the series will enjoy this entry, but it didn't work for me.

The Highlander's English Bride (Clan Kendrick, #3) by Vanessa Kelly.. This is the third Clan Kendrick book and each one gets better than the last. Lady Sabrina Bell and Graeme Kendrick are a true match in temper and bravery. This book has all the feels and danger...love how the whole Kendrick family is involved ...also plenty of steam. I can't wait for the next Clan Kendrick book.

Sabrina meets Graeme in one of the most embarrassing moments of her life. Not only has her suitor left her waiting for him at a very inappropriate time in Hyde Park, but a thief threw her into the Serpentine! Graeme fishes her out, offering her kindness and a bit of understanding. As sparks fly between these two stubborn characters, Graeme is determined to let Sabrina go once safe and Sabrina is determined to make Graeme see how perfect they are together.

This story is refreshingly honest and unique. As Sabrina realizes how she feels about Graeme, she is open and honest about those feeling, foregoing the normal angst that threads through so many romance stories. Graeme is equally honest about his belief that he is not worthy of an Earl, and goddaughter of the King himself. As the most unruly Kendrick brother, Graeme has found himself in the employ of King George's spymaster. He is a simple man with little wealth of his own. He is not the man for Sabrina.

As wonderful as this story was, there was a lot... a LOT... going on. None of it was well flushed out. The time period felt poorly represented, the intrigue was a bit clumsy, and most of the story was reading about the characters thinking and pining over the other. I love a good smutty romance as much as the next person, but a truly great romance has a fully flushed out plot that pulls a reader in beyond the love story and this one tried, but didn't get quite there.

Until today I had not heard about Vanessa Kelly. I loved her book! I have not read any of her other books and this one was phenomenal! I loved Sabrina's character! Shes demanding, she's tough and she can handle her own! She knows what she wants and then she goes for it! Graeme is a gentleman sorts, he works for the spy and he takes care of everything and hes sincere. Hes trailing a thief with a boy called Tommy when he sees the thief attack Sabrina so he saved her and in doing so he got them both very dirty. While he was with Sabrina he sent Tommy to spy on where the thief went. Slowly Sabrina realizes she wants Graeme and shes not shy about what she wants when she realizes it. Graeme really doesn't believe he deserves someone like Sabrina. The twisting of the story where they are both saving each other. This is thier story. Be prepared to stay up late finishing it especially after Graeme vows to protect Sabrina! A great story and its definitely cute!

The Highlander's English Bride by Vanessa Kelly was a great story. This was Graeme and Sabrina’s story. Graeme, a Scottish Highlander is in London working undercover jobs to stop criminals. Sabrina is a very intelligent, independent woman, who has strong desires to help people. So they both want to be in change and this causes a lot of conflict between them. There is a great deal of drama in the story as these two are always getting themselves into trouble. The story had a lot of things going on that began to overwhelm me. There was so many things happening on the side such as criminals, kidnapping, thieves, and children in danger just to name a few. Graeme and Sabrina went from one issue to the next and it was overwhelming with all the side issues. I would have enjoyed more communication between the two main characters and more romance. I gave this story 3 stars as it was enjoyable but just came with too much drama.

I enjoyed the second ha.f of the book. It was almost as if there were two books shoved in together. The first part was a bit predictable, slow, and generally the attempt at espionage was clumsy. In theory this could make sense with part 2 but it just didn’t seem intentional, especially when your male is supposed to be a professional spy. The half of the book definitely was better paced, richer, and more interesting.
Overall I thought the writing was good, not too long/short, the plot was concise and didn’t leave any holes, and I genuinely felt invested in them by the end of the book.

I recieved a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book, I didnt want to put it down. Graeme has been working undercover stopping criminals. When Sabrina gets caught at the wrong place at the wrong time Graeme saves her. I appreciated Graeme's desire to want to protect sabrina, but I loved sabrina independence and desire to help people more. I do feel like the ending dragged on a little and the big reveal and happily ever after could have occurred sooner. I can't wait to read the books in this series as the surrounding secondary characters were as amusing and willful as sabrina.

Have you ever read a story that it was too much? well that is what I found in this one. We had to much going on, we had thieves, murder, rape, kidnapping, children in danger and lets not forget the main characters seem to always find themselves in trouble too. Then we have Sabrina I am all for a tough woman but this was not realistic to the time, and yes I know I am reading fiction however you still have to think about the era it was captured in and Sabrina would not be that type of character. Graeme was also getting into things that then he would need help extracting himself from..I got tired, it was just a lot. .doesn't deserve a 2 but definately did not deserve more

This was such a fun light hearted read! It was the perfect story to pass some time during quarantine. Lady Sabrina Bell arranged to meet a suitor in the wee hours but he doesn't show. Instead she gets her purse stolen and pushed into the river. Graeme Kendrick is on a stake out trying to catch a ring of thieves; he blows his cover to rescue Lady Sabrina. They share heated words several times but he seems to always be there to save her, sometimes from herself. He is sent to another assignment and when she realizes he's leaving it breaks her heart. She follows and decides to be frank and honest with him about her feelings. There is some action and their chemistry is on fire! Its a great addition to the series (but can be read alone) and I am excited to read more from Vanessa Kelly.

I absolutely loved Grahame and Sabrina's story. These two compliment each other so well. I love that Sabrina is the heroine that "doesn't need to be rescued". The way these characters interact and the secondary characters make you feel like you are a part of this grand family. I would definitely recommend this story to any avid romance ready.

I had fun with this book! The dynamic between Graeme and Sabrina is great, especially with how she refuses to be sidelined. Something off about the setup of this book is that there are a couple of totally unrelated villains involved, and neither of them packed a particularly mean punch, so the steam was all pretty much let out of the main plot, relying on emotional development and family interactions to carry the story the rest of the way. At this point in the series, a lot of side characters have stacked up in a way that detracts a bit from the plot, but at the same time, my favorite character is Angus and I wouldn’t give him up for the world.

Graeme is on a secret assignment to catch a group of thieves targeting the ton when he stumbles across Lady Sabrina and has to save her from an attack. They keep coming into contact with one another as they travers the ballrooms of the ton and begin to fall for one another. Sabrina has a knack for getting herself into trouble and Graeme comes to rescue, saving her from her often. Throughout the book we see both the hero and heroine grow into themselves and come to terms with their pasts. They save each other from many scrapes and redeem past mistakes. This really was so much fun. They jumped from one problem to another, always putting others first. They were fun, sassy, and kind. I’m looking forward to more from the Kendrick clan in the future.

The Highlander's English Bride - otherwise known as the battle of who could be in danger more often. Throughout this story both Graeme and Sabrina are pretty much taking turns being in danger.

While I always support the female in the equation having a right to do what she wants and protect herself. But there is a line where Sabrina dangerously approaches a TSTL status. We are also perpetually told that Graeme is quite skilled at tracking down and doing investigative work, but he seems to spend a lot of time being kidnapped and having the presumably less skilled women in his life get the jump on him in terms of finding information out. Both Graeme and Sabrina seem to battle who gets to be in control more than just about anything else.

Overall - more than anything else this book functions as a battle of the sexes. With neither being really on the better side. The women seems to treat the men with exasperation and a lot of what can you do with these silly men. The men act over protective and exasperate that the women might want to be involved in their important men only things.

In the end, I'm not sure how much of this is actually resolved. Sabrina and Graeme seem to come to the conclusion that working together is better than being at odds - but there is no real resolution. In essence, love conquers all.

I enjoyed the story - but found that the amount of side plots overwhelmed the main story. There was just too much going on. I also had forgotten the somewhat convoluted family relationships - so the refresher was much needed for me. Although, this book did make me forget what I had liked about Ainsley in prior books.

Overall this was a good adventure story - but I think could have used some judicious editing to keep it more focused. For fans of the Kendrick family - you will enjoy this and be interested to see where the family goes from here.

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

This was not my type of story. This was a very well written tale, but it lacked strength and direction. The heroine was a party girl (fashion, dancing, parties) and the hero was a spy who was supposed to be trying to catch a gang of jewelry thieves or watch the King. The heroine was the God-daughter of the King and the hero's sister in law was the King'd bastard daughter, I think. It was very hard to determine e who was who and how everybody was related. But the heroine and hero did not share blood, I know that much. The way the two kept meeting was not believable at all. The heroine's father didn't like the hero, but the hero kept getting assigned to watch her and he really didn't seem to like her, only think she was a pretty party girl. The way they met was very suspect. The heroine was trying to meet a beau after 1 in the morning, in a park. The hero is chasing the thief, who runs by the heroine, the turns around and tries to steal her purse. She ends up in a stream and the hero jumps in after her. Totally unbelievable. No decent lady would be sneaking out to see a man after 1 am. Can you say where? And the the man she was supposed to meet is, of course, the blood-enemy of the hero who had raped his sister-in-law, a different one, and had been banished from England, but came back, even though everyone in the hero's family was out to kill him. As in, literally kill the man. It goes down hill from there. I like a well written story that makes sense. Proper spelling and grammar will not make a good story, but are appreciated. Characters who make sense and are at least believable are necessary to an engaging story. I do not recommend this book.

Another good book by Kelly
Historical romances are my go to genre. Thus would be a good read for anyone wanting to jump into this style of writing. Thank you for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
