I love Rebecca Zanetti but hadn't previously read any of the Deep Ops books so I was very excited to pick this one up. To sum it all up, I simply loved it!

Broken is fast-paced and action-packed right from the beginning. Within the first few pages, there is a dead person-of-interest to Wolfe and Dana's cases and throughout the rest of the story, these characters deal with car chases, shooters and so much more. This story was full of mystery and intrigue and I couldn't get enough!

I adored meeting Wolfe and Dana. Wolfe is the strong, silent type who likes to keep his feelings close to the vest until he just can't any longer. Then all bets are off and Dana will have to keep her wits about her if she wants to resist his charm. And that man is charming! Dana was also a great leading lady. She's steadfast and determined, and the perfect match for Wolfe. I enjoyed watching these two characters circle each other and fall in love immensely!

While I definitely think this story could be read as a standalone, I think it would probably be a better reading experience to read the series in order. This is simply because the story really is very fast-paced and the beginning almost felt like the middle for me when I realised the two main characters already had a history from the previous stories that I didn't know about. It didn't negatively impact my feelings towards this story but I did stop and think "I may need to pick up the previous books and then do a reread of this one again after"; which is fine by me because I'm keen to go back and visit the other characters in more depth too - especially Mal.

Overall, I really loved this story and recommend it to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense (particularly with heroes that have a military background) and to fans of Katie Ruggle and Julie Garwood. Zanetti is a fantastic writer and creates a compelling story that'll leave you on the edge of your seat.

Anyone who has been reading this series as been waiting for Clarence Wolfe's story and believe me now that we finally have it you won;t be disappointed He is the muscle of the deeps op team a team that is compromised of members that have all failed in some way In Wolfe's case he feels responsible for the death of his entire seal team and he is determined to get revenge for them. Reporter Dana Mulberry is also on a revenge trip though hers is for a fellow reporter who was killed The trials lead both of them to the same sex club now they will have to work together if they don't want to blow one another's covers. The only problem is that they are growing to like one another and their attraction to one another is growing The task is also becoming more dangerous as they realise it goes much deeper into the lives of some very important people Can they survive get justice and maybe have a future together You will have to read to see

Once again Rebecca has written a tight romantic suspense that has you engaged from the first page and she never ever lets the pressure down until you turn that last page satisfied but exhausted from the thrill ride you have been on

4.5 Hearts It’s Rebecca Zanetti of course the book was great! Zanetti is easily one of my favorite authors. She has written all genres except historical (I believe) and has never once disappointed me. And this one is no exception. I have been waiting for Wolfe’s story and it was worth the wait.

Wolfe is the epitome of a Gemini. Wolfe can be deadly and focused. He can kill you practically with a look and then get a super sweet latte with whipped cream. He would do anything for his friends and those he cares about but if that means burying a body he will bring the shovel. Oh how I want a Wolfe of my own!

But in this care he has found Dana. Dana is a reporter determined to bring to justice the person who killed her friend. And when Dana and Wolfe combine forces they are unstoppable. And quite a story!

I loved the background characters of this story. Wolfe’s “family” of guys is who he cares about most and they care for him as much as he loves them.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve loved every one of the books in this series, but I’ve been dying for Wolfe’s story and I was not disappointed!

Wolfe is an interesting character, he’s added a lot of humor to the previous books with his quirky ways and his mysterious past. Although he’s the muscle behind the team, the way he thinks has often led me to think of him as almost innocent. He’s got such a pure heart when it comes to those he loves. And he’s fiercely protective of them as well, especially Dana.

I wasn’t sure if I’d like Dana or not but I should have known better. Ms. Zanetti did an incredible job of creating a heroine that could stand up to an alpha hero who wanted to control her, all while giving her the type of personality that made me want to be her friend.

This book sizzles with adventure, danger, humor and passion. Broken starts off fast and never slows down. With all the other wild Deep Ops characters to help this couple along the way, this made for a great escape from all the things that were currently weighing me down.

Wolfe and Dana are both looking for a villain who killed someone they loved. In Wolfe's case, he's a retired SEAL who lost his unit to a land mine; in Dana's it was a fellow journalist. Their paths cross, they join forces, and action and romance both ensue. The charm of this novel (as with the earlier ones) is in the characters. Wolfe has issues, sure, and he's a tough guy but he takes care of his friends up to an including buying them frothy coffee drinks. Dana might talk tough but she's also got a soft heart. AND then there's Roscoe the dog and Kat the kitten. This is as much a romance (and a fun one) as it is a thriller. It's nicely plotted and written. It may be the third in a series but it's perfectly fine as a standalone. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A very good read.

Former Navy Seal Clarence Wolf is after the man who took out his team while they were in Afghanistan. Lucky to be alive himself he now works for a security ops organization. But looking for this man he is doing on his own or so he thinks. He runs into Dana Mulberry reporter who is also looking for a man, her person killed her friend. A fellow reporter, now the two of them are working together, oh ha they are also living together in his house. Of course, you are thinking that there is no attraction to each other rightttttt. It is there and one night they explore it with some cans of whip crème.
The story is fast-paced and full of action. Whether it is verbal, shooting, car chasing, things being blown up, horizontal, or even Roscoe eating a pair of pumps and drinking whiskey afterward. Roscoe steals the book for me especially his appearance at the wedding which was one of the better scenes written very funny. Also, his getting the pumps down from the bookcase our dog has done the same thing just not going after pumps, some dogs are very smart.
Overall, I liked the story and the characters. The author keeps everything going and when a new character is added you are given a good description and background which helps. A very good book, with a good ending.

This is book 3 in the Deep Ops series and I would absolutely read the previous books before reading this one. In this one we finally get Wolfe and Dana's story! Clarence Wolfe is a former SEAL whose entire team was taken out by a landmine and he was seriously injured. He hasn't been the same since. But he knows it wasn't an accident and he will do everything he can to bring down the one responsible. While he waits, he will work with Deep Ops as the muscle they need. Dana Mulberry knows something happened to her friend, and she will do whatever she has to in order to find out what it was and avenge her. She has a trail that leads her into a sex club, which also leads her to Wolfe. To keep from blowing both of their covers, they will have to work together. But when their leads take them straight to the danger, they will have to decide what is more important and what they are willing to do for each other.

I absolutely loved this one! I was impatiently waiting for Wolfe's story from the first time we met him in the other books, and this in no way disappointed me! This man has been through hell and come out the other side not quite whole. But in no way less lovable. He is alpha, and protective and I can't help but love everything about him. Dana is this strong willed woman who is more than willing to fight for what she believes is right, regardless of whether she will get hurt because of it. And after what has already happened to her, you know she will do what is right. These two together are explosive! They have this off the charts chemistry but even more than that-they connect and fit with each other. The story is fast paced and sucks you in, and I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. I loved every single minute of it! Now I seriously need Angus's story!! I can't wait for that one!!! And any other novella's that get thrown in there as well!

I've been waiting for Wolfe and Dana's story, and it certainly did not disappoint! It's my favorite of the series so far!

Clarence Wolfe is a former Navy SEAL, whose entire unit, save him, was killed in a bomb blast in Afghanistan. Wolfe hasn't been quite right ever since. When he figures out that the bomb was no accident, he decides to hunt down the traitor, and get his revenge, even if it means losing his own life in the process. He had nothing else to lose, so the trade seemed worth it. He got himself embedded as the muscle in the Deep Ops team, and has been helping them solve cases, while he pursues his own on the side, but nothing prepared him for how much he would care about his team members after such a short time. Plus, there's an investigative journalist who is a friend of the team, and the pull he feels toward her is like nothing he's ever experienced. But, he can't let himself get any closer, when he might not be around in the future for her.

Dana Mulberry is trying to get to the bottom of her friend and fellow journalist's disappearance. Dana fears the worst as Candy has been gone for 2 months already, and there was a LOT of blood in her apartment. Dana is determined to figure out Candy's coded notes, and find out what story she was working on, to determine if it had anything to do with her going missing. She's undercover at a BDSM club party following a lead, and she runs into Wolfe. Turns out, both their leads have led them to look for the same man. They decide to help each other, and see if they can solve their connected cases together. But, it'll be hard being so close to Wolfe for an extended period, and not being able to act on their explosive attraction.

Wolfe and Dana have had chemistry like whoa, from the beginning, but he basically friend zoned her from the start, since he didn't think he had much of a future. Dana has always wanted him, but has tried to respect his choices. But, once she finds out he actually does want her too, all bets are off! The heat between them was awesome, and I loved watching them slowly fall into a real connection together.

The team is SO AWESOME, and I love getting to see these characters over many books, some of which have already been their own stories. Everyone is fun, smart, and quirky in their own ways, and I appreciate each of them so much. Especially crazy Roscoe, the dog with a drinking problem. He's insane, and I love him. They all have found ways to work well together, and they each have their place and purpose, and I adore their camaraderie. There are even a couple new people that show up to help this time, and I hope we'll get to know them better too! Dana's family was also AMAZING, and I hope we might see her sisters pop back up in the future!

The suspense plot here was a good one, and got even better once we learned HOW the cases were truly connected. It brought everyone together in awesome ways, and watching them all be so competent in their jobs was fantastic. Wolfe definitely wants to protect everyone from his personal mission, especially Dana, but no one will let him get away with it, and I loved that. The suspense was strong, and I felt the tension through the entire story, especially with all the sexual tension between our main couple heating up too. There was also ground work laid for Force's book, which will be next, and I CANNOT WAIT for his story. He's a hot mess, and the team shrink, Nari, is so put together, but you can tell their connection is going to be BANANAS.

The only other thing I want to mention is a bit of a content warning. Our two main characters are dosed at a party, and they end up sleeping together, and not remembering much about what happened. They had already slept together before that, so the angst of the incident is relatively low, as far as that goes, but I feel it could be a trigger for some readers.

I really loved this one so much! I'm very excited for the continuation of this series, and I hope there will be more books after Force and Nari's book next! I highly recommend this entire series. The stories are each unique and exciting, and I always love being along for the ride!

4.5 Stars

Clarence Wolfe came back from a deadly Navy Seal assignment gone wrong a changed man. One of only two survivors from his unit, Wolfe’s brain injuries have made his personality a little quirky and a whole lot intimidating to most people. Wolfe has one goal in his life besides being the protector of his deep ops unit of folks considered misfit toys. He wants revenge on his former teammate who is responsible for literally blowing up Wolfe’s life and betraying everyone in their group.

Investigative reporter Dana Mulberry is on her own hunt looking for a missing friend, also a reporter who was trying to expose a major crime ring. Dana is nothing if not tenacious determined to solve the mystery despite the physical danger of deep diving into the criminal world. Dana and Wolfe run into each other at a private club for those of the wilder proclivities. Their earlier mutual attraction is there; however, Wolfe feels he is too damaged to offer a woman like Dana any kind of real relationship.

When Wolf and Dana realize their cases are connected after a contact dies and they are attacked, it becomes essential for teamwork to solve more than one crime. Wolfe only wants to protect Dana, not have her be part of the investigation while she is resolute in finding her friend and uncovering the corruption happening. Clarence wants to remain the proverbial lone wolf in his quest, but his equally damaged friends have his and Dana’s back. Wolfe and Dana are intensely drawn to one another amidst all the adventures going on. Dana doesn’t understand why Wolfe resists a relationship, but as they work together things heat up.

Book three in the Deep Ops series, all the oddball humorous crew as well as their pets Roscoe and Kat from the previous stories are on hand to help out. Pulling together threads from the first two books, the teams' boss, Angus, gets some news he was been waiting for that looks to be the theme for the next story. Fans of this series will enjoy Wolfe and Dana’s story with its twists, turns and lighter moments.

OMG I have been waiting for Wolfe's book since book one. God but I love that crazy ex Navy Seal. I knew his book would be amazing and I was right. From the start of the book, which started with Wolfe in leather at a sex club, I was hooked. Wolfe was sexy, protective and a bit nuts, but oh so yummy. Dana was smart, stubborn, and brave. They were very cute together. I loved the build up to their relationship. Both Dana and Wolfe's backstories were good, detailed and made me feel like I really got to know them. I just loved them both so much and thought they made a great couple.

The plot was great. The bad guy super evil. There was action, and plenty of romance. Wolfe's mission was hella good. I was fighting myself not to skip ahead just to see what happened next. Roscoe and Kat were funny and cute as ever. I loved the whole team and getting to see the close friendships within the group grow with each book. A few new people popped up in this book and I really liked them. Especially Dana's family. Force's ongoing story line got a bit more interesting. I can't wait to read his book. Overall this book was amazing, and the ending was so sweet. I loved every minute of this read and can't wait to read the next book.

Just waw, another amazing story and this is so far the best from the Deep ops series. Both Wolf and Dana of course amazing. We get to know why is Wolf the way he is and who is Dana. I loved that the story was combined with TLC and action, suspense, that we saw pain, struggle, and love, lots of love. We meet new characters and we see how the old ones are doing. I can't wait to read the next book one in the series because this was phenomenal.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

Broken is the 5th volume in the Deep Ops series by Rebecca Zanetti. I reviewed all the previous books which are composed of 2 long novels and 2 novellas : Hidden, Taken, Fallen and Shaken, published in the Pivot antholoy.

In this volume, the main characters are Clarence Wolfe, who is called Wolfe, and Dana Mulberry. We met them in the previous stories : Wolfe since the begining of the series and Dana in Taken.
I love Wolfe. He’s the ultimate henchman with a big heart. He always brigs too sweet latte for everybody, walks with a kat in his pocket, speaks many languages and says what he thinks. I love this quote from the book : « Sometimes things were so clear to him, he truly couldn't understand how anybody else could be confused. » It reveals his personality a lot.

When the story begins, readers who have been reading it since the first volume know that the heroes have been attracted to each other since their first encounter but insist on considering themselves as friends.
We know more about them as well as the reason why they don’t succomb to their attraction : it’s all because of Wolfe who doesn’t want any relationship with the others because he’s got a goal which excludes all personal attachment.
As for Dana, although she would like to deepen their relationship, she respects Wolfe’s desire, especially as she’s making her own inquiries about one of her fellow reporter. Indeed, the latter is missing and while the police is searching her, Dana wants to know more about her current investigation.
At the beginning of the book, Dana and Wolfe’s investigation lead them to the same place : a sadomasochist sex club. Plus, they came here to find someone and they realize soon that although the name was different, the face was the same. But this man is killed before they can ask him any questions.
Afterward, Wolfe decides to join forces with Dana because he quickly understands she’s in danger and he wants to protect her. In the meantime, he hopes to keep his own investigation secret but in vain, of course. LOL

I wanted to shake Wolfe sometimes because he absolutely wants to fly solo when everybody tells him that nothing is better than having a team with him, especially this team. He takes a lot of time before easing off with his partners and Dana. He also takes unilateral decisions but the heroine doesn’t let herself pushed around and regularly confront him. In this book we have two strong characters who complement each other. There are not a lot of hot scene but the sensuality is always there and their attraction has been obvious since their encounter. So, when we close the book, we believe in their HEA and we are especially happy for Wolfe who needed some softness around him.

On the suspense’s side, action and twists are not lacking. Plus, we have a new element regarding the series’ common thread tied to Angus Force. Fans of the author, of the series and of the romantic suspense subgenre won’t be disappointed.

Amongst the secondary characters, all the Deep Ops team are there as well as the previous heroes’ soulmates. We witness the cutting remarks between Angus and Nari Zhang whom we know are bound for being together in another story. I can’t wait to read it.
Roscoe, the alcoholic and diabetic dog who also has personality disorders, is more than ever present and ready to protect the heroine.
Two new characters make their appearance : Jethro Hanson and Serena Johnson. Not only these two already know each other but also I’m sure Rebecca will write their story. I hope so. LOL
There are two characters I never mentioned in my reviews while they appear in the stories : FBI Agents Rutherford and Fields. They are the Deep Ops’ handlers and their mission is to keep a close eye on the team’s investigations and their interventions. Their own goal, especially one of them, is to take down the contract between Angus Force and the government because they don’t like them. They will never have their own story but I love the way the different heroes drive them nuts.

To conclude, I had a great time with this book and I continue to recommend this series filled with humour, emotion and action. The next one will be published in January 2021 and will be titled Driven.

I loved this 3rd book of the Series where the people and animals are a little strange and a lot hilarious. I enjoyed learning more about the relationship between Dana and Wolfe. It is edgy and violent in turns with being snarky and funny. So while the story-line can be intense it is also full of lighthearted good times.
I am always a fan of Ms. Zanettis and this one certainly held my attention throughout. There is a lot going on with stories from the past and hints of future events. Loved it immensely!

Absolutely amazing!! I seriously love this book and series so much! RZ had me hooked on this group of quirky characters from the get-go and I’ve been really looking forward to the story of the big Wolfe who carries a kitty cat around in his pocket and having someone make him really feel again. Let me just say that this story is everything I hoped for and so much more! Wolfe may be a big, alpha, bada$$ operative, but what a sweet, sexy, and wonderfully swoonworthy man he actually is! Dana brings out all the best in him. She is such a strong woman and I just love their chemistry and how they are around each other. He brings out her best too! Dana makes Wolfe want to try to be able to have more than he thinks he can given the crap that is going on. He does not want anything to happen to Dana or anyone he cares about. This storyline is so freakin’ good!! I was on the edge of my seat! Thankfully Roscoe is there to add some much needed comic relief as always!! I can’t wait for more in this series!

Rebecca Zanetti’s ‘Broken’ continues a quirky series where a small, almost-forgotten force of misfits band together…and not necessarily get along swimmingly while finding their rocky HEAs en route to saving themselves.

Wolfe and Dana are on 2 separate missions, so it seems, but the story does have a familiar ring to it: together their paths do cross, thanks to Angus Force and with a bit of poking in here and there into each other’s business which enjoying the zing of the attraction between them. Much of it that follows however, is a push-pull-type relationship that has Wolfe focused on his own revenge mission and repetitively insisting that he has nothing he can give Dana while the latter seems determined to push Wolfe into something else that he can’t quite entertain, up until they both realise that their missions (and hearts) are on a collision course.

BROKEN is a thrill ride just as all books by author Rebecca Zanetti books are, but this is one readers have wanted for a long time. Having met Wolfe, the guy who carried Kat (yes, that is the name of his cat) in his pocket, scared people (including Dana when he first met and threatened her) and always seemed a little off, every fan wants to know everything. BROKEN will give you everything and then some.

The band of misfits from the Deep Ops series has to be one of the most fun series I have read. The characters developments are awesome has reader will not be able to hold back the laughs picturing Clarence Wolf and his kitten protecting Dana. Things go from crazy to insane as the author has reader running to keep up with her amazing cast of characters.

The author is able to write a sex scene that will leave readers hot and bothered. She is able to create memorable characters from the drinking cross dressing dog to the grumpy unwilling leader. As the story ends readers will want more from the misfits and their friends as they figure out what is going on in the crazy world.

Thank you to the author, Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of Rebecca Zanetti Broken.

Readers will want and need more from this series.

If one is in the mood for a great suspense with just the perfect amount of romance added in, this is a keeper! The two sides balance perfectly with neither taking over the plot at the expense of the other. Wolfe is a fabulous character and Dana is his perfect foil. She is determined without being obnoxious, kind but persistent. And, she needs it with Wolfe! His protective side has become an obsession that overrules his good sense at times so pitting these two fabulous characters together works perfectly.

The story can be a challenge for a first time reader, however, as there is a lot of background that pertains to both the characters and the plot that is alluded to in this story but obviously takes place in previous installments of the Deep Ops series. This leaves holes and frustration for those who haven't read the earlier books. Still, the story is strong enough to be enjoyable either way.

The story is great and I love Wolfe. The only problem I have is now that we are 3 books into the series is that there is not enough backend or summary in the beginning to catch you up and if you haven’t read the other books recently where they are fresh in your mind, you are clueless and playing catch-up until you are about 1/4 way through the book so I found my self rushing the first part to see where everything started to click. Very action packed and the character interactions are the best
