This is book three of the Broken Ops series.Clarence Wolfe and reporter Dana Mulberry finally have to confront the sexual tension that has been building between them when the two cases they are investigating seem to converge.

Wolfe has been a very mysterious and contrary character throughout the series, and his story was highly anticipated. He did not disappoint. He was the same combination of stubborn, yet caring, soldier that we have come to love.

There was plenty of action, and steamy romance. The other members of the team were all there (yay!), and Roscoe and Kat stole the show as usual.

Wolfe had an old nemesis breathing down his neck, and Dana’s story led her to be in his sights. Wolfe was the typical protective alpha (that we expected him to be), but it was stifling in some parts. A lot of these heroes tend to bend their own rules when confronted with their honey’s wants, but Wolfe didn’t have a lot of give when it came to Dana. Dana didn’t back down necessarily, but she seemed to be doing most of the adjusting in the relationship. We all know that Wolfe has a softer side to him, and I really enjoyed learning more about him in this book.

A few new characters were introduced and they were fun and interesting.

A great addition to the series, and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

While I really enjoyed this book, I did not read the first two books of the Deep Ops series and I think that would have enhanced the reading experience.
Clarence Wolfe is a Former Navy Seal with a tragic past. He avoids serious relationships and even keeps his Deep Ops colleagues at a distance. One woman has chipped at his icy exterior, reporter Dana Mulberry. He saved her life in the past, but he quickly let her know he didn't want to complicate the friendship they share with a romantic relationship.
When they are shot while working undercover, Wolfe decides Dana needs to stay with him so he can keep her safe. This soon complicates his plan to stay “just friends;” but if he hopes to take down the man responsible for killing his SEAL unit, he needs to keep Dana at a distance.
There are many complex twists and turns in this novel and the reader has to pay close attention, but the ending is worth the ride.

If, like me, you've been waiting for Wolfe's story you won't be disappointed. Between his love for animals (Kat), sweet lattes that he likes to share, and his willingness to put his life on the line for his team Wolfe has it all. This series started with a bang and continues with great writing and a story-line that just keeps growing. My only disappointment is having to wait until next year to read the next installment.

I have been looking forward to Wolfe’s story since the series began . Ms Zanetti didn’t disappoint. The mystery and the romance in the story was amazing .Loved catching up the old characters and introduction of the new ones .
Loved the beginning of the story with the sex club and leather pants. I also liked that the author didn’t ignore the characteristic of Wolfe bringing too sweet drinks for everybody to make him look stronger.

In this third Installment of the Deep Ops series, Zanetti pairs up quiet, tough guy Wolfe and the feisty reporter Dana. When they both show up under cover at the same BDSM party sparks fly! Murders follow them as they race to find answers before they get caught in the crosshairs.

Zanetti shows off her comedic undertones in this exciting and action packed romance. The plot flows nicely, with some twists along the way and the romance is well fleshed out and spicy! Dana’s family lend some awesome, down home quirkiness to the book. And Roscoe, that dog stole the book with his hilarity!!

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Rebecca Zanetti is becoming one of my favorite authors. I loved her new book "Broken" which is the third book in the "Deep Ops" series. Wolfe, a main character in this book, is a part of a group of “misfits” who are former military. Dana is a journalist who is looking for the person who murdered(?) her friend.

There are some quirks about the main character, Wolfe, that I loved and it made him real to me. For example, he buys sugared coffee for his friends/coworkers even though he eats healthy the rest of the time. He is also adamantly against a lasting relationship because he is “broken”. So it’s interesting to watch his relationship with Dana evolve.

Dana is a strong, intelligent female character. I enjoyed the way Dana interacted with her family. I could actually hear the squeals as the sisters greeted each other as they gathered for their cousin’s wedding.

I also love Roscoe, the former military dog who has some major issues. He steals every scene he is in. I especially enjoyed his entrance to the wedding of Dana’s cousin. I read this twice!

Rebecca Zanetti is one of the authors whose every word I read. How can I forget this description for the bridesmaid dresses, “puke-green, puffy-sleeved dress...which made her look like a waddling rotten kiwi...” ?

I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one in this series. I hope it’s about Angus Force.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank the author, publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this title.

This is the first full length novel I've read by Rebecca Zanetti. I was first introduced to her work in the book Pivot. I really enjoyed that story, in which Wolfe was a secondary character. I loved his character in that story. So when I was given the opportunity to get an ARC of his story, I was very happy..
Again, Wolfe's character did not disappoint. He was a strong, smart, dominant male.
Dana, as the heroine is also strong, smart and stubborn.
I think this was my slight problem with the story. I felt they fought too much over who was going to be in control. You need some vulnerability in the story.
All in all though, a good story, a very good ending.
I give it 4 stars.

BROKEN (Deep Ops Book #3 ) by Rebecca Zanetti
I very much enjoyed this story by Rebecca Zanetti. It is the 1st story I have read by her and it will not be the last. She has brought Clarence Wolfe and Dana Mulberry to life in a very real way. He is a former navy seal that is still reeling from having his whole team killed on a mission by a fellow seal, and he is now is a deep ops team member. She is a journalist whose best friend was murdered while investigating a story. Rebecca brings us action packed drama, suspense, intrigue, banter, chemistry, and characters you really care about it. I give this 5 stars.

Rebecca Zanetti's series on the misfits of agents and former military in the Deep Ops team. Each individual has issues that would seem to preclude them working as a team, but they manage to co-exist and play to each others strengths. Dana is a journalist on a mission to find out what really happened to a close friend. Clarence is chasing the ghost who killed his squad in the Middle East to facilitate his drug business. Dana is determined, from a large family and basically well-adjusted. Clarence is a complete opposite, it just so happens their goals seem to be converging. If you skip this series because you are missing great intrigue involving our government and the true underbelly of politics.

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review. Rebecca Zanetti returns with her Deep Op Series. Wolfe, is looking for the man who killed his team....Dana a reporter is investigating what happened to her friend, she literally runs into Wolfe at a sex club....Wolfe claims her as a sub with fluffy handcuffs and all and the reader can't help be hooked as these two are on the run from someone who is shooting at them, they are chased, drugged, shot at, almost blown up all while falling in love. This book has a great plot and yes has some characters from previous Deep Op's books however these characters support Wolfe and Dana figure out who the bad guys are.
I loved, love these characters and look forward to more Deep Op's books.

I loved, loved, loved this one. The best book in this series so far in my opinion. Wolfe is his unique self while being fulling focused on getting his bad guy and protecting everyone around him. Dana is a strong woman who never lets Wolfe push her around or away in order to keep her safe. They were a well matched couple and even though they bumped heads about how to work their mission together they still worked it out and made a great team. Loved getting to see Wolfe interact with Dana's family, I would read a book just about that if the author decided to write one. And of course we get to spend time with all our other favourites from the team, and we get some really interesting additions to the team that I'm crossing my fingers means even more books since this series has so many great story lines left to tell I think. Looking forward to the next in the series, I wish it was going to be Angus and Nari but I have a feeling they are going to be saved for last lol but who ever it is, I'm still excited to read.

Wolfe was my fave from the beginning as you just knew his story would be a good one. The big burly, quiet guy who carries Kat in his pocket and hands out sweet sugary coffee drinks to everyone with sprinkles on top!!!

And of course, being a Rebecca Zanetti book this one did not disappoint one little bit. I pretty much devoured from beginning to end.

This is the 3rd book in this series and I highly recommend you read them in order, as reading it as a standalone won't do it any justice at all.

I don't want to give too much away except to say I loved Wolfe and Dana, and I thought the chemistry between them was great. Of course Roscoe steals the show like always and you cant help but laugh at his antics.

I am now absolutely dying to read Force's book and I hope the wait is not too long.....

A new to me author and sadly a did not finish for me. At 10% I felt there was no witty banter and limited dialouge. The story started ok but went no where fast. Skip the meeting with his fellow team mates or put it in later. I wanted more main character interaction and building off the bat to hook my interest. I'm bummed because all the other 4 & 5 star reviews made it seem better than it was, but I am not ruling out other works by the author and Thank Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars

This is the third book in the Deep Ops series by Rebecca Zanetti.

I am pretty sure Wolfe is the same guy that was a secondary character in PIVOT, a short story collection where Zanetti was a featured author. So, I started this book out with a good sense of who he was. Wolfe has this humorous thing that is sort of a gimmick for his character. He loves lattes with whipped cream and sprinkles. It is kinda funny that this intense and determined man loves this froo-froo drink. Not to mention This hilarious dog named Roscoe who keeps getting drunk and destroying all the ladies purses and shoes.

This book has all the action and covert things you would expect in a romantic suspense story. Plus, the growing relationship between Wolfe and Dana seems so real. Sometimes you feel like you need to turn away because you are peeking too closely into their lives.

There are a couple of different missions going on in this book but Zanetti does a great job of keeping it all straight for us. The plot is fast moving and never lets up. Even the sex scenes don't distract from the action too much.

I also loved how even the secondary characters had flaws and were imperfect. Angus will definitely get his own book, I am sure. And Jethro, the British professor, would make a great book as well. The characters in this are so well crafted. I am impressed.

Even though this centers around the Deep Ops team, the female lead still shines. She is so bull headed and stubborn it is no wonder she is such a good journalist. I am happy she stood her ground and didn't become a damsel in distress. We need strong women in novels for people to look up to and model.

Overall, it was one wonderful read!

If you love romantic suspense, definitely check this one out!

This was provided as an arc from Netgalley for my honest opinion.

Zanetti is an amazing author! This is the story of Wolfe and Dana, who I have been looking forward to reading. Clarence Wolfe as a character is a strong alpha male, protective and driven. I like the contrast to Dana. She is investigating a story and is driven to go undercover in the BDSM world for her story. Zanetti does a good job of keeping true to these characters’ personalities as they interact throughout the book. My only issue is the beginning was a little chaotic. Wolfe is driven by justice/revenge for something in his past and that is why he is in the BDSM scene, but you have a body and people shooting at them before this becomes clear. Once you get into the book, though, around chapter 4 everything levels out and the book is suspenseful and well-written. I will purchase the book for my collection.

Wolfe is haunted by the man who betrayed their team on his last mission and left everyone for dead but him. He doesn't have time or want to have feelings for Dana because if he does he puts her in danger. Dana is a journalist determined to find her friend who has been missing and she is also determined to put Wolfe back together and make him feel again. When their cases cross paths and their feelings for each other start to get in Wolfes way he is even more determined to keep her and all of his coworkers safe but time is running out and bodies are stacking up. Thank you for the Arc copy! Great Job Ms. Zanetti

'Romantic suspense novel about alpha males and the women who claim them'.

Heavy, graphic details about murder and sex as journalist Dana Mulberry investigates the disappearance of her journalist friend Candy (Candice) Folks. Homelands Defense Department (HDD) agent Clarence Wolfe's investigation lands Clarence at an exclusive sex club. where he meets up with Dana. Dana joins Clarice''s team to solve both cases and crack a drug ring out of Mexico.

The plot moves quickly. Parts are gruesome in their violence while other parts are light-hearted family events. Well-written, this seems to be book 4 of a series in the Dark Protectors series. A few lines from previous adventures are great teasers if you haven't read previous books in this series.

A lot more romance than I usually read but it was easy to skip over without losing plot details.

Wolfe has been my favourite Deep Op's character since the beginning and I have been looking forward to his story. He is eccentric to say the least, is a master strategist, suffers from PTSD and carries a kitten in his pocket. He loves his sugary treats and is uber protective about the people who are important to him. He has been developing a relationship with Dana, a journalist and they become closer as Dana investigates the death of her best friend and colleague. When Dana becomes a target, Wolfe feels he must protect her and even though he tries to keep his distance, it doesn't work out that way. This is a well-crafted romantic suspense with interesting characters that keeps you enthralled and guessing all the way to the end. Another winner for Zanetti.

I am a big fan of this series! The characters are well developed and interesting as are the story lines, This one was another great story! Wolfe was such a great character. A formal SEAL with some issues with a sweet tooth. Loved his interaction with Dana. Dana was a strong character as well and a reporter. When Dana and Wolfe both end up investigating the same thing Dana becomes a target things heat up as Wolfe guards her. Loved the chemistry and the steam! Add in Roscoe a dog that has his own issues and the rest of the team and you have another great story! Lots of action and suspense with plenty of humor and a fantastic story! Loved it!

Broken is book 3 in the Deep Ops series written by Rebecca Zanetti. Having read the two previous books in this series I was excited to read Wolfe's story, I loved the chemistry between him and Dana. This storyline is action packed and well written, it will keep you turning the pages until the end. I would definitely recommend this book to others that enjoy romantic suspense books.
