I have been waiting for Wolfe's story. Broken by Rebecca Zanetti is the story of Clarence Wolfe, the soldier and Dana the reporter. Wolfe survived dangerous missions and a severe head injury that left him with "concerns". Dana is a reporter with a knack for getting into trouble. Not only do they share an attraction they end up sharing an enemy. This book has high heel wearing guard dogs and whip cream latte loving soldiers. The Deep Ops series is a fun read that will keep you laughing and engaged.

I mostly enjoy Zanetti’s novels. This one is different. In addition to the normal dominant alpha male dynamic, the protagonists are drugged by the bad guy. This leads to some energetic sex, which has some unplanned consequences. It’s not date rape in the traditional sense since both parties were in lust and participated equally, but the episode is rather lightly brushed off. I can’t recommend this title because I don’t how the idea of drugged induced sex, even if it is portrayed rather benignly, might impact potential readers. There is a place for such issues, even in Romances, but they deserved to be thoughtfully written about not used as a way to get the protagonists in bed together.

Oh my word! It ended! Cries! I love this series! Wolfe ,yum, is a Deep Ops agent. A sexy one at that, he carries a kitten in his pocket. Dana is a investigative reporter! When a fellow reporter goes missing, Dana makes it her mission to find out why, even if it means going into a sex club. But dang who is that hunk in leather? Why is HE here?

I read and reviewed this advanced complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley

**Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review** I absolutely love Rebecca Zebecca Zanetti's romantic suspense Deep Op's series, and ever since Clarence Wolfe's character has been introduced I've been eagerly awaiting his story. It did not disappoint. Wolf's history was let out piece by piece, but keeps the reader engaged still with the suspense and the action and plenty of twists and turns. I wasn't sure of how I felt about Dana has a main lady, especially for Wolfe, but in the end she was definitely a strong character and complimented Wolfe's personality. We still get to see the team in action, and check in with the previous characters and couples, and we get to meet some new characters and team members that are intriguing.

So much love for Wolfe and Dana's story, it was everything I was hoping for! We finally get inside the head of the man who may or may not be a little crazy to find out that answer as we are taken on a suspenseful, action packed, steamy and funny ride.

From the very first moment we met him, Clarence Wolfe has been an enigma. He is a laser focused soldier at times, a little bit all over the place at the others. He carries around a kitten named Kat in his pocket and has an affinity for Roscoe, Angus Force's equally neurotic dog. His love of over-the-top sweet coffee drinks may induce cavities in his team members who pretend to enjoy them, but he stubbornly refuses to believe that these people mean anything to him. Too bad he is only lying to himself since he has an agenda of revenge against a former teammate that will likely end up getting him killed.

He is surprised to find one beautiful and stubborn journalist undercover at the same party as the story opens, and that first chapter sucked me in while setting the tone for everything that follows. Dana can't deny she is attracted to the man but he placed her firmly in the friend zone from the time they met. That doesn't mean she can resist pushing his buttons a little to see how committed he is to that friends-only mentality, particularly since they are both undercover at an invitation only sex club party where they are playing Dom and sub. She quickly realizes she is going to get more than she bargained for though!

Wolfe's restraint will only hold for so long, and when he realizes that their 2 cases are somehow connected with Dana directly in the crosshairs of a killer thanks to a contract on her life, buckle up buttercup because this ride is about to get bumpy! She is used to being independent and refuses to take the situation as seriously as he thinks she should, and the power struggle is more one sided than she would like to admit to until a close call brings the reality crashing down on her. She won't take Wolfe's caveman antics in stride though and he secretly enjoys their push and pull.

So back to the big question: crazy or not? Well you will just have to read to find out for certain, but I I definitely fell in love with his character as we gain insight into his past and the endgame he is chasing throughout this story. His interactions with Dana's family were some of my favorite moments that I have read in a book recently, and both Dana and the HDD team make him realize that he has something to fight for. The ending made me smile for so many reasons, and I am REALLY looking forward to the next revelation in Angus's own personal mission that landed him with this team.

Rebecca Zanetti is one of my favorite authors and her latest book Broken is the next edition in her Deep Ops series. I love this group of characters, their quirks, humor, loyalty, bravery, and passion. Wolfe and Dana have been circling each other for a long time and finally give in to the evitable but this is the Deep Ops team nothing is ever easy. Not to be missed if you're a fan of steamy suspenseful romances!

This was an excellent introduction to Rebecca Zanetti's series and writing style! An excellent foray in action, suspense and very sexy romance!

If you're looking for a thrilling romantic suspense novel with the perfect balance of action AND romance, look no further. Clarence Wolfe is a Deep Ops agent who is haunted by the betrayal of an old brother-in-combat, Dana Mulberry is a spitfire journalist who does whatever is necessary in order to get her story. Sparks fly between the two when they join forces to crack their cases. Add in an alcoholic dog, sprinkles and a wonderful sense of camaraderie among the other team members and you're in for a real treat. I'll definitely be checking out some of her other books in the series! I was given an advanced copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Dana and Wolfe’s story is intense from the start. It’s a fast pace thrilling mystery that keeps you captivated until the end. It’s my favorite so far in the in the Deep OP’s series but I can’t wait for the next one, Every book so far has been great and fun to read.

Broken was an amazing addition to the Deep Ops world! Rebecca Zanetti has developed characters that leave us longing for the next installment.
I have been looking forward to Dani and Wolfe’s story more than Angus and Naris. I knew that Wolfe’s past and Dana’s inquisitive nature would collide in an amazing way and Zanetti delivered!
In Broken, we get to see the past events that lead to Wolfe becoming a part of deep ops and Zanetti does a great job of giving us that villain that we hate in Wolfe’s nemesis. We also get to see something that we rarely ever get in many books with Dana’s family- a family that is functional and kind.
Wolfe’s feelings for Dana have been growing since the introduction in Taken. Dana has been a background character and now she is center stage in a very real and significant way.
There is a great Easter Egg if you look hard and are a Dark Protector fan. Love these little things.

Rebecca Zanetti’s ‘Broken’ continues a quirky series where a small, almost-forgotten force of misfits band together…and not necessarily get along swimmingly while finding their rocky HEAs en route to saving themselves.

Wolfe and Dana are on 2 separate missions, so it seems, but the story does have a familiar ring to it: together their paths do cross, thanks to Angus Force and with a bit of poking in here and there into each other’s business which enjoying the zing of the attraction between them. Much of it that follows however, is a push-pull-type relationship that has Wolfe focused on his own revenge mission and repetitively insisting that he has nothing he can give Dana while the latter seems determined to push Wolfe into something else that he can’t quite entertain, up until they both realise that their missions (and hearts) are on a collision course.

‘Broken’ is classic RS, though the pacing is slow until the last 30 pages of the book, where most of the action and developments happen which gave the conclusion a bit of a rushed feel. And like many of Zanetti’s books however, ‘Broken’ is a hodgepodge of many moments that I liked, disliked, was engrossed in and then completely put off by (repeat this cycle several times)—and how is this possible?! The dog’s exaggerated behaviour didn’t made me laugh; instead I cringed each time Roscoe was given way too many ‘human abilities’ even if there was meant pure entertainment value in it.

Zanetti does throw some hints here and there about a continuation with some loose ends and new characters; it’s definitely a series I’d follow I think, at least for now though I definitely wish I had more enthusiasm for it.

If you've been reading the Deep Ops series, then you'll look forward to this one because it's Wolfe's story. Wolfe is a real character, with his too-sweet lattes that he buys for everyone, his kitten in his pocket, and his brain that was scrambled by an explosion in Afghanistan.

Wolfe and Dana, a journalist loosely associated with Deep Ops, end up undercover at the same BDSM club. They're each doing their own investigations, with Dana searching for someone associated with her friend's disappearance. Wolfe is on a personal mission, also searching for someone. I don't want to go into their investigations in any more detail, as that will ruin the twist in the plot. Dana ends up in danger, and Wolfe is determined to protect her whether she wants his protection or not.

Dana and Wolfe have been dancing around their attraction to each other for a while, but Wolfe has put Dana in the friend zone. He doesn't expect to survive his personal mission. Dana is having none of it, and pushes for more.

There's lots of page-turning suspense, romance, a shoe-stealing alcoholic dog, those dreaded lattes from Wolfe's heartfelt POV, humor, familiar and new characters, and a hint of Agnus Force's story.

You loved Wolfe before, you'll love Wolfe and Dana.

I read an ARC, but my review is freely given.

I love this series so much. I enjoy the characters and the blend of heat, action and humor in each one and Broken is no exception. This is Wolfe and Dana's story.

This is still a fairly new author to me, no this is not the first book of hers that I have read but I am still getting accustomed to her. I liked the banter and pushing and pulling between wolfe and Dana what did bum me out was that this is a series, and while I wasn't lost I felt that I was missing the easy commorodary of this cast. But what I did enjoy beside the danger and suspense was that we had some humor which to me helped with the danger.. Am on planning on catching up..

I'm loving this series by author Rebecca Zanetti. Broken is Book 3 of the Deep Ops series and it doesn't look it is going to go slow anytime soon. Honestly speaking, I'm not much of a journalist/reporter romance trope as I find the characters written usually quite annoying. I'm glad to say that I hold no such sentiments with Dana Mulberry who is the romantic interest and a reporter in this book.

This book was fast paced, the writing flowed evenly and the romance is pretty hot. The banter between Wolfe and Dana was engaging and I could feel the chemistry between these two characters. I was intrigued by Wolfe's character way back from Book 1. He became who he is due to a devastating backstory, and it took a special kind of woman to plough through his standoffish cold demeanor. Do pick up this series if you haven't already, you wouldn't regret it!

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley, however the views above are all of my own.

Swoon worthy Hero!!!
Wolfe is everything I had hoped he would be. Since the very first Deep Ops book I’ve been curious about what made this brooding standoffish man tick. With his surgery lattes and a kitten in his pocket he wove his way into our hearts. Dana is a tough reporter determined to find out what happened to her friend.
The bad guy is super creepy and crazy evil.
The Deep Ops team is quirky and unique and I love watching each couple fall one by one. The wedding and Dana’s family are hilarious and of coarse Roscoe as always stole the show with his crazy antics.
We are introduced to new team members which means one of my favorite series will go on longer. The perfect combination of suspense, romance and humor!!!

I love this series so much. Broken, is everything I could have asked for. I have been waiting for Wolfe and Dana's story and was not disappointed. Plus there were two new characters added to the group. I hope this means at least two more stories.

I've read several of the books in this series and liked them. However, I have been looking forward to this one. I got a quick peek at this story in a different book. It really got my attention and I could hardly wait to pick it up. So I was quick to grab a hold of it when the chance came. I was NOT disappointed at all. I loved it. It so deserves 5 Stars on Amazon when it opens for reviews.
Wolfe and even Dana were one-of-a kind type of people. It took me almost no time at all to get drawn into their story and care about them.
The romance was definitely Wolfe style. And yes, they do get to some hot sexual encounters together. But you will have to wait for that for a bit. Because there is a lot of intense action going on outside of a bedroom. It's coming from several different directions almost all at once. It's intense and dangerous. The team that they have surrounding them is both unusual, a bit crazy but also all in when it came to having each others backs.
One of the craziest team member if you want to call him a team member is Roscoe. Now I knew going in that he was kind of a "fantasy"dog because of some of his strange abilities. He added a lot of humor to the tense drama. The kitten in the story is a sweet addition who mainly sits in Wolfe's pocket and purrs as much as possible.
Things come to a kick-butt conclusion when it comes to the danger to this team. But also with a H.E.A. for our main characters. Not to worry though, at least one team member has a bad guy to pursue. So more adventures ahead!

I’ve been looking forward to Wolfe’s story since we met him in book 1. He’s a little bit kooky, a little bit weird and a whole lot of dangerous. And I’m glad to say his story didn’t disappoint.
‘Broken’ has Wolfe teaming up with his journalist friend Dana Mulberry to help her with her latest story, the mystery disappearance of her friend and fellow journalist. Meanwhile Wolfe is also secretly working to figure out who killed all his soldier teammates and left him for dead in Afghanistan. When their two investigations converge Wolfe and Dana must keep themselves and their newly budding relationship alive long enough to survive.
This was a great addition to the Deep Ops series. It had an interesting storyline, great characters and a good bit of steamy romance. I hope Angus Force gets the next book in the series. 4 stars.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This book is part of a series but reads great as a stand alone. I just want to say, up front that I adore Roscoe!!! He always makes me smile. I really enjoyed this book. It will keep you up all night so don't start it at 10pm like I did. I liked Wolfe and found Dana to be ok. They did have good chemistry. It's action packed as usual!! Great fun read.
4.5 stars
