When two unlikely friends unexpectedly have a new somebody thrown into the mix, will they be able to not only handle the mess but become a group of three? Crackers and Butter are VERY excited for their human to return home one day, especially when they see the box. But that box isn’t just a box, and it doesn’t hold treats - instead, inside is a brand-new shelter puppy looking for a home. And while Peanut may be adorably clueless, he’s also a noisy mess (as are all puppies) - so Crackers and Butter decide he MUST go. Only, once he’s gone, they start to remember what life was like before THEY found their forever families.

An adorable early graphic novel from Eisner-nominated Braddock, this story is sure to delight fans of such friendship stories as Fox & Chick and Narwhal and Jelly as well as children who simply love a good cat-and-dog tale. The cartoonish style of the characters is the perfect combination of sweet and goofy; I especially enjoy the fact that we never see the human’s face - perhaps a subtle nod to Braddock’s day job?

All told, a very fun introduction to comics for a younger audience.
