Cone cat got me from the start. The cat's expression cracked me up and his shenanigans were the stuff of legends!

This was a super cute and fun little story that I think kids will definitely enjoy.

I’m a sucker for anything with cats so that’s why I wanted to give this one a shot and I’m glad I did. I would definitely pick this one up to read to my children or as a gift for someone else’s!

3/5 ⭐️

A sweet story about a cat who thinks his life is over when he’s suddenly stuck with a cone around his head. Eventually, though, he learns it may not be so bad to be Cone Cat.

What a fun children’s book! Jeremy is a cat who finds himself with a cone around his head. At first, he’s very frustrated by this, but he learns to find unexpected benefits from wearing the cone. Children will enjoy the adventures Jeremy the cat finds! This might be helpful if a child has a similar difficulty to overcome, like a cast on a broken arm. I would recommend this book for children about 4-6 years old.

Thanks to NetGalley and OwlKids Books for providing a copy of this ARC.

When life for the entire universe and planet turns on its end and like everyone else you "have nothing to do" while your place of work is closed and you are in #socialisolation, superspeed readers like me can read 250+ pages/hour, so yes, I have read the book … and many more today. (I have played a zillion games of scrabble, done a zillion crosswords and I AM BORED!!!)

I requested and received a temporary digital Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley, the publisher and the author in exchange for an honest review.

From the publisher, as I do not repeat the contents or story of books in reviews, I let them do it as they do it better than I do 😸.

One day, Jeremy wakes up at the vet’s with a giant cone around his head. In a momentary existential crisis, he resigns himself to his new role as clumsy, smelly Cone Cat. That is until the cone becomes instrumental in lapping up the last few bites of cereal on the breakfast table.

Surprisingly, Cone Cat can do a lot of things old Jeremy couldn’t. He can hunt spiders with ease, collect stuffing from the couch, and disguise himself as a bowl to steal a scoop of ice cream at a birthday party. When the cone is removed the next day, Jeremy starts to miss it. Will he ever get another chance to indulge in the tricks he pulled off as Cone Cat? It doesn’t take him too long to find out …

With lively illustrations and plenty of witty bon mots, this hilarious picture book about adapting to seemingly im-paw-ssible situations is sure to please kids and cat-lovers alike.

AHHHHHH......THE CONE OF SHAME!!!!! This cute little book is a great read for kids - the cat is cute and the storyline well crafted and presented. This is a cute little guy in the cone - I have very memories of my female cat walking into door frames as she did not factor in the cone during her walk AND my male cat not forgiving me for cutting off (Oh I am going to write it as kids don't read these reviews) his balls which were no longer there when the cone came off.

I believe that you cannot put the mantra of "don't shop/adopt and spaying/neutering, per se, into their kid's mindset early enough: I think that would be a great discussion point to start with kids because the "cone of shame" will mystify both the cat and the kids.

As always, I try to find a reason to not rate with stars as I love emojis (outside of their incessant use by "🙏-ed Social Influencer Millennials/#BachelorNation survivors/Tik-Tok and YouTube Millionaires/etc. " on Instagram and Twitter... Get a real job, people!) so let's give it 🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈

Jeremy wakes up at the vet, unhappy to find himself wearing a cone. He makes the best of it and ends up liking the cone.

Cone Cat helps kids understand that we can make the best of poor circumstances. I will add this to my classroom library and read it to my students.

Cone Cat by Sarah Howden was a cute story about Jeremy the cat who woke up at the vets with a cone on his head. I read this book with my 5 yr old and 9 yr old, they really enjoyed it. 9 yr old- "the story was really good as the cat didn’t like the cone but eventually learned to like it". 5yr old- "I liked that the cat was funny eating cereal”.
I was provided with an electronic ARC through NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Meet Jeremy, you can see he’s none to thrilled to be stuck wearing a cone. But Jeremy is resilient and crafty and sly. He and the cone become one until the surprise ending (wait for it!) Beautifully illustrated by Mok and maybe, maybe, readers will see more?

This is a cute picture book that students will get a laugh from. It has a good lesson in it as well. Illustrations are adorable. I will be purchasing for my elementary library.

An interesting look at how Jeremy the cats adjusts to having a cone around his head. At first, it just hinders him, but then he finds he can get things he couldn't without a cone.

It is a simple tale. Cat gets cone. Cat still gets into mischief despite it.

The pictures are cute. The mischief that he gets into isn't too bad, and the cat is very resourceful.

I do like that the bugs don't taste as good as he thought they would.
