He was an absolute whirlwind that would change her life forever. Absolutely loved this steamy novella! Great ending to the series!

What a great story. I sat down and read this book in one sitting.

Penelope Fox is waiting to be interviewed for a job at Preston Logistics. But when Drew Preston has his 3 year old son, Logan, at the office again because his Nanny quit without notice, Penny sits down with Logan and reads him a book while waiting for Mr. Preston to see her. After Drew sees how attentive she is with Logan, he assumes Penny's there for the Nanny position; he glances at her resume noticing that she has corporate America experience along with some Nanny experience from her years in college. He immediately hires her on the spot. Now Penny is employed but will have to get him to see that she has the experience he wants for his company.

Drew is courting Jack, a married man ready to sell his company and retire. When they have dinner at Drew's home, they see Penny and Logan and assume they are a happily married family. With a desperate look from Drew to Penny, she decides to help the man with a fib. Now she has an engagement ring and wedding band on her finger along with a beautiful diamond necklace. Soon they are sharing the same bed at night and she's helping Drew with business presentations.

But when Penny can't figure out if what they have is real or not, she gets sick of the lies. She's in love with both Drew and Logan. But he won't talk about how he really feels about her.

When Jack overhears an argument between them at a gala they are all attending, he finds out the truth about their fake marriage and calls off their deal.

Penny moves out and Drew and his brothers scout another company to buy. When Penny shows up at his office to finally talk, she overhears the CEO and his assistant talking about covering up the figures the company is losing. She warns Drew, but he refuses to believe her. When the truth comes out about how badly the company is in debt; Drew is ashamed for not believing her.

He finally realizes how much he truly loves her, but he's too stubborn to call her. So he makes sure she is taken care of financially, even if it means he loses Jack's business. But Jack seems to enjoy playing Cupid for the couple.

A must read!

This was a great story by a great author. I’ve read a number of her books and they don’t disappoint. I really liked both main characters as well as the plot. I recommend.

A good quick read that I was able to read in one sitting! I enjoyed Penny & Drew’s story. This is the first book that I read by Leslie North and it definitely won’t be my last!

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is the 1st in a trilogy by Leslie North. Penelope Fox is a vivacious and gorgeous woman who thought she was applying for a job as an assistant at Preston Inc, but Drew Preston looks at her resume and assumes she's there for another reason. Drew Preston is looking for a nanny for his son, since his previous nanny has left for pastures new. Drew is trying to sort out a deal and he person assumes Penny is Drew's wife. What happens when you mix business with pleasure. You have to read this book and it's a start of a terrific series.

Reading Leslie North books has got me back to reading again after a lengthy 2 months.

A business meeting, a presumed introduction as a wife, but she's really in the over qualified nanny position.

Misconceptions that lead to lies that break the business deal and their blooming love and romance connection between them.

True love with deep emotional feelings wins through when a real marriage, not a fictitious one is celebrated.

With a happy ever after ending in this romantic story of love, commitment and happiness.

I really enjoyed reading this book, it is the second one I have read from this author and look forward to reading more.

Actual rating: 3.5 ⭐

I chose this one on netgalley because of the single parent trope. This is the second book I have read from this author and I finally know why it wasn't that much of a great read for me.

I have no problem with the writing nor the plot. My main problem is that it is short. I realized that I don't usually read romance books that are short in length. Tendency for short stories are everything is too fast and the fleshing out of characters is insufficient.

For this one, the romance developed abruptly with attraction at first sight. The conflict was quick too and they lived happily ever after.

A few one dimensional characters. Also for plots with single parents, usually the kid is a central part of the story, on this not that much. Just like my previous comment, I wish there were more cutesy moments with the kid (Logan).

A better read than the first book I've read from her. It was an okay read. 👍

This was a fun, quick & easy read. I have to say, the cover is what drew me in, but the storyline kept me reading!

There is a good amount going on in the plot to keep the reader hooked in and some of the characters were likeable despite being, at times, unbelievable. Totally not my type of book but if you like this sort of easy read, not too tasking and very cheesy, then give it a go. A bit of fun for summer lockdown!

The Billionaire's pretend wife by Leslie North was about a completely fake marriage. Penelope Fox thought she was applying to be an assistant job, but really it was to be a nanny to the billionaire's son. It had a very interesting storyline and characters were perfect. I felt the flow of the story had a natural feel to it and kept you wanting to turn the pages.

The Billionaire’s Pretend Wife by Leslie North was an interesting read. I had not read anything by the author, but she did a good job on drawing the reader in and being invested in the story. We meet Drew as he is getting ready to complete his interviews for a nanny for his son. Enter Penny who was actually applying to the job as assistant to Drew, but he thinks she is there for the nanny position. It’s an honest mistake on Drew’s part as he sees where Penny and Logan have hit it off. Desperate for a job (any job!) Penny agrees to be the nanny. And then things get complicated. Penny is mistaken for Drew’s wife by a business owner that Drew is trying to purchase for his company. Can’t you just see the pitfalls on this scenario? Oh yes. How will it resolve? Hmm, to find out read this most excellent book.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book for an honest opinion.

This novella certainly wasn’t what I was expecting but it was still a fun read!
Imagine turning up for a job interview and they are interviewing you for the wrong position (but you only find out half way through when the questions head that way) well that’s the situation that Penny found herself in! She was going for an office job but ending interviewing for and landing a job as nanny to Drew’s little boy Logan
Penny is super smart but loves being a nanny for Logan but she also quite likes Drew…
A lot more of the story is written from Drew’s perspective which is something I really enjoyed. It was really refreshing and it also enabled me to see his motivations and reasoning behind his character
There is a lot of focus on the adults and I think it would work possibly a bit better if there was a bit more on their time with Logan. However it is still a good read with some twists and turns thrown in!
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a lighthearted romance with charming characters and a few surprises!

Penelope believed she was applying to be an assistant to Drew. She finds out that she has applied to be his young son's nanny and she's desperate enough for money to take the job. During a meeting, Penelope is mistaken as his wife and she agrees to play along to help him land a deal. Drew learned long ago never to mix business and pleasure. But he finds it increasingly more difficult to fight the attraction between them. An added bonus - she's as good with business as she is with his son. They both begin to realize they'd rather stop pretending and make this real.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice and sweet, quick read. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

I have to say, I really enjoyed the concept of this story. It was a great one to get lost into, especially with how things are rolling these days. I giggled and I swooned. I laughed and cringed as this story played out. The banter was great. The flow of it was amazing. Overall a great read!

This was a nice read. H hires her to be his nanny. even though she was interviewing to be his assistant. she is mistaken for his wife so he plays on that. then the love story begins. I felt they connected right away and enjoyed them together. I will read the other brothers stories to find out who they end up with.

Fortunately, Leslie North usually brings out two or three books of a series, in a short period of time. So, I can read them all in one go. This month, I had my fix of Leslie with the Preston Brothers. All three, rich selfmade billionaires, of the Preston Shipping company.
First one is Drew, who is in desperate need of a nanny, after his ex has left him high and dry. She took part of his company and he will never forgive her for nearly bankrupting his company.
Penelope Fox is applying for a job in the Preston Shipping company. But Drew mistakes her for an applicant of the nanny job. Happy to have a job, Penelope agrees and she sees it as a way to get a next job within Drew's company. When she is mistaken for his wife during a business deal, Drew begs her to keep up appearances. So, she agrees. But lying isn't what Penelope wants, although it nearly doesn't feel like lying: when acting like his wife, it really feels real. Or is it only her, feeling this connection?
At the risk of losing the deal, Drew tries to maintain distance from Penelope. Because he can't mix business with pleasure, as his ex has shown him. But will he succeed? And what is Penelope hiding? Find out for yourself in this cosy read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
