I really enjoy the way this Bible study is written. It is all about godly courage. This is a six week Bible study. Each day, there is a devotional to go with the particular week's memory Scripture. This is honestly a study to consider using as part of an individual's quiet time or to use in a small group.

"Writing Courage on My Heart" is a great book whether you are looking for a devotional or something to help you memorize God's Word as you are given a memory verse, but it goes much deeper. Each week, we are given a weekly Scripture, but there are devotions to accompany our weekly Scripture to help us to understand what we are memorizing.

My favorite aspect of this book is how the writer draws in the reader, where you get to enjoy and learn with a friend along the way. =)

I received an ARC from Barbour Publishing, via NetGalley. This review is my personal opinion.

In this 6 weeks Bible devotions, Jean Fisher took an interesting theme: Courage. This means according to God’s view and on each week we have a specific theme with a Bible verse to memorize, on each day we have ideas and recommendations on how we can learn and put them into practice. Each day is a divide on Blank page, where Jean Fisher tells us a story, could be a Bible character or an important character through history, the last words, where we find encouragement and finally putting all together, which is how we can put what we learn to practice. I like that you can take 15 maybe 20 minutes, which is good for someone who is building spiritual habits, who wants to learn how to memorize the Bible in a relatable and uncomplicated way, and also for those who are busy, especially for moms. Great book, I recommend it.

I really liked this devotional!

It was broken down into six weeks and a Bible verse for you to memorize utilizing the techniques that this book teaches, you will finish it having memorized several new verses, with a better grasp of it's application to your life.

I found the daily devotionals to be well-written and nice, easy to digest bites of the Bible that can be incorporated into your daily life.

***Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the digital ARC of this book. All views and opinions expressed in this review are my own.***

This was a simple and easy 6 week devotional that allowed me, over the course of lockdown, to remain calm and happy within myself. It drew me closer to God in these uncertain times and am blessed to have read such a book.

I started slowly working my way through this devotional about 3 weeks ago. I did find myself able to remember more Bible verses than I previously had in my prayer arsenal. However, the moment of truth came last week when my father-in-law passed away. There aren't adequate words to say how much "Writing Courage on My Heart" has helped ease my soul in the last few days. I believe with all my heart that God puts people and things in our path and this devotional was definitely one of those things.

This was an interesting devotional. Each week for 6 weeks you will review a Bible verse and with the tools in the book you will be able to memorize each verse and have better knowledge of its application in your life.

The daily devotionals are well thought out and all related to 'courage'.

I enjoyed reading this. It was a light read and did not take much time.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I haven’t finished the book yet but until now it’s been pretty good, I like the props for journaling and/or just thinking about how God and Jesus play in our life’s but I do feel like this book focus too much on what we do wrong and it feeds a negative narrative around your journey in Faith

“Writing Courage on My Heart” was sent to me free of charge, by Net Galley, in exchange for my honest review.

Barbour Publishing has published a well written, really needed, devotional by Jean Fischer.

I just found out that my brother is in the ICU with COVID-19 and sepsis...not doing well, so this came at a really good time for me! Isn’t it awesome that we serve an ON TIME God?

The author begins her book with this quote that really spoke to me.
“With good courage, you not only face fear hoping everything will be okay, but you also surrender the outcome to God.” Ouch! That’s a hard one right now!

“Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:24” begins this devotional. Each week begins with a memory verse, and she says there are tear out index cards for each week’s verse. The book I am reading is an e-book, so I’m not sure, but they’re probably in the back of the book. If you’re doing the e-book, like me, it will be very simple to write them out on your own index cards.

Each day there is a devotion that goes in depth to explain an aspect of the verse. Then, THE BLANK PAGE gives ideas for life application. THE LAST WORD, digs even deeper.

I would most definitely recommend this devotional, especially if, like me, you are facing a very fearful situation. #WritingCourageonMyHeart #NetGalley

This is another great devotional by this author. The theme of “courage” is a needed one for these times we are living in. I like the approach she takes with the Bible memory aspect of the study, as I think it helps keep focus on the main topic of the study. The devotions are well written and applicable to growing stronger as a believer. There’s plenty of scripture to keep the focus on the Biblical aspect of courage. My review copy of this study was an ebook, but I’d love to have a paper copy of this one. This study would work well for either individual study or a group.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I don't LOVE devotionals. I like them, I start them and then struggle to get into them or get lost along the way, get behind, get frustrated and give up.
In this one I struggled a little but I did not give up. I like that it was not dated Sunday to Saturday but rather week 1 day 1-7. When I fell behind because of life it was less intimidating, being on the wrong day did not call me a failure or point out my short-comings.
Each week begins with a main verse for the week that we are encouraged to memorize. Each day continues along with the theme of verse although other verses may be introduced to highlight points or go deeper. Each day is broken into three parts; the beginning followed by a section called "blank page" and ending with the "last word".
I did not appreciate the frequent changing of scripture translations. I understand using different translations to get better understanding, it just didn't work for me here. I used my own bible and translation for memory work and going deeper.
Overall this was a good devotional that I got a lot out of and felt enriched and encouraged.

This a great 6 week devotional that helps you memorize a different passage of Scripture each week. I used the arc digital copy, thanks to a NetGalley. I would definitely like to see the physical copy.

This devotional was a good study. It included great tips on how to memorize verses that were helpful. While learning a new verse each week, it was nice having days of devotionals that are relevant.

This was a great devotional to help you build your courage and memorize scripture.
It is in the word that we can find the strenght to face life and to move on no matter what comes our way.
The word is alive and powerful, a sword against the ennemy that is why we need to connect with it everyday.
The author will give you a lot of tools to help you memorize scripture like: singing scripture, writing it on a card, using a digital voice assistant (Alexa), using app...
This is a six weeks devotional and each week you are going to memorize a new verse and learn how to become brave through the example of strong men and women like Florence Nightingale, Missioniaries Jim and Elisabeth Elliott, Hannah Whitall Smith... and Bible characthers like David, Moses, Paul... They surrendered they will to God and obey him they remind us that we too can answer God's call for our lives relying on his word and his spirit working within us.

I received an advanced copy of this book and this is an honest review.
