Overall this is a fun read with great photographs. I really enjoyed the conversations they had together. If you are familiar with their show you will enjoy the book. Have fun

What a hilarious and funny book. I enjoyed this so much and I love the two authors a lot.

Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova, two of the most well-known RuPaul's Drag Race alums, wrote this humorous, satirical self-help book. One of the book's great attractions, in my opinion, is how their own style of humor seeps through.

The book is short but is packed with wonderful images of the two. I really enjoyed the dialogues between them, and the chapters were lovely and brief. It seemed like I was reading a more grounded but realistic adaptation of their UNHhhh web series.

If you're anything like me, you have a beard and consistently absurd reviews on Goodreads. Trixie and Katya have already won your admiration thanks to their appearances on Ru Paul's Drag Race, UNHhhh, live stage performances, and many pieces of plastic memorabilia that are lying around your posh surroundings. So you know what you're going into: a high-quality hardback with glossy photos that have far outgrown the lighting from Season 1. It's a lighthearted article with some pleasantly surprise writings about sex, eating, body care, and body image. The talks between the dynamic drag team are what the book excels at, and it is this conversational style that has made them such a fan favorite over the past few years.

It feels absolutely rude to be giving this under 5 stars. Trixie and Katya are two of my favorite Drag Race alum and can do no wrong... but that doesn't mean that this book was as stellar as I was expecting. I ended up listening to this guide on audio in the hopes that their personalities would come through their voices. And they did, to an extent, but there was still something off. I think the book has too many moving pieces with essays, how-to sections, and conversations as separate chapters that end up feeling a bit disjointed. Honestly, I would rather read three separate books (one in each style), because I think there was enough there to flesh out. As it stands, this book is billed as a tongue-in-cheek "guide" but strays from that frame-work constantly.

The chapters where the two have a conversation are the most fun to listen to. Their friendship and their quick-wittedness are such big reasons that I adore them! They also do not shy away from heavier topics like addiction, which is important and has stuck with me post-reading. It just feels strange to have a frank discussion of addiction in the same collection with a how-to makeup section with recommendations for products by Jeffree Star?

I hope these two get a second crack at the publishing game, because I will always want to hear more from them!

THIS WAS EVERYTHING!!! I adore Trixie and Katya so much and this book was everything I needed. It was like an episode of UHNhhh that lasted over the two nights it took me to read this work of art. I laughed more than I ever have at a book, but that is no surprise since Trixie and Katya are HILARIOUS and never fail to cheer me up. I MUST get my hands on a physical copy.

A sort of hodge-podge good time with these two - it's a loosely connected collection of thematic essays interspersed with great photos and transcriptions of conversations between the authors. My only complaint is that I wanted to guffaw and I really only giggled; their energy and humor and chemistry didn't translate to the page as much as I would have liked.

As a side bar, an unrelated to the book review, I also listened to the audio version as read by Trixie and Katya and the liveliness, while more present, is still like a half a point off. BUT, Katya, to me, has the most soothing reading voice and I hope she starts a sideline in audiobook narration.

Anyhoo, would I recommend? For sure! And I hope they return to writing because I'd devour a childhood memoir from either of them.

I loved it! During this dark time of 2020, this was a breath of fresh air. This is going to fly off the shelves in LA.

Absolutely loved this book! It was like reading through a Ughhh transcript! This would be a conversation starting coffee table book. The photos and fashion are completely on brand for these two amazing drag queens.

Thanks to NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP Dutton - Plume for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

What can I say, I love Trixie and Kaya. They seriously could have just wrote "drag" a million times in this book with a fews pictures and I would STILL rate it a 5 star. Ha! I've always been a fan of theirs so I think that contributes to my high rating..just a smidge. While reading it, I could hear their voices reading the words in my mind and thoroughly enjoyed the banter between them in the book. The book is very on brand with their comedic/goofy personalities but at the same time, they give great advice ranging from hairstyles to relationships. The photos were great and the personal stories they shared were even better.

I definitely recommend this to readers who love them, like Drag Race and has some type of sense of humor.

An easy 5/5 stars for me! :)

If you've ever watched Trixie Mattel or Katya (I'm not gonna try to spell her last name) on RuPaul's Drag Race or on their YouTube series Uuhhh, you will know exactly what you are in for. Trixie and Katya are here to tell their fans how to be their most fabulous and talk about a variety of topics, such as fashion, makeup, drinking, social media and more. The self-help part is mostly tongue in cheek, but with the kind of wit and humor the duo are famous for. Hon-ney.

Funny and amazing just like them both! I knew I would love this book the minute I saw it! If you watch them on social media and want more, please read this!

Firstly let me say right off the bat: the photos of these two idiots are worth the price of admission. I was on page "xi" and came to that conclusion. And honey (oh honey!) it just gets better from there.

Fans of UNHhhh are going to love the inclusion of classic lines such as "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage..." but will also revel in new quotable quotes like, "a good red lip will get you laid at your high school reunion and that is proof enough that makeup is God." However, readers should also brace themselves for perfectly useless pieces of advice such as, "Pro Tip: you need one [shoe] for each foot."

Thanks, Marv.

Incredibly useless but delightfully adorable as it's coming from two of our favourite drag queens.

And that should be enough for us.

This work is fabulous. An absolutely wonderful read that will have you smiling, laughing, and feeling like you're talking to a couple of old friends, "Trixie and Katya's Guide to Modern Womanhood" is a must-buy for fans and anyone who's looking for the real tea, boots-the-house-down realness about what modern womanhood REALLY looks like.

A fun, funny book filled with fake and real advice from two top drag queens. This book is worth it for the gorgeous photography alone, the commentary is a great bonus. Recommended for fans of drag, humor, satirical takes on serious topics.

A++. This book exceeded my expectations for a variety of reasons, mostly because I worried this would be comedic fluff (of which it definitely is) BUT in addition to the comedy, there was genuine heart and friendship that leapt off the page.

Certainly the demographic for this book is relatively niche to a degree -- it helps if you know and love 'RuPaul's Drag Race' (and it's spinoffs), can accurately reference famous drag queens and pop culture, and you know, have a sense of humor. But those facts aside, if you're looking for a funny distraction with an overall positive message, this is just the ticket.

I was ecstatic to see that I was approved to review this book. As a huge fan of Trixie and Katya's for years now, I was over the moon when they announced they were releasing a book. The book itself mirrors a lot of content and humor that's seen throughout "UNHhhh," but fleshed out into chapters. With each chapter, they give life advice and flesh out experiences they've both been through with heart and comedy. I would recommend this book to any fan of theirs or any casual reader is looking for a quick and zesty pick-me-up.

I'm a huge RuPaul's Drag Race fan, so the minute I saw this, I knew I needed to read it. I loved every second of this. Trixie and Katya are some of my favorite queens, and reading life lessons and advice from the two of them was hilarious. You get such a good mix of essays, how-to's, and conversations that there's really something for everyone here. There's also gorgeous photos of the two littered throughout, as well. They have such a dark sense of humor and it really shines through. While most of their advice can be construed as satirical, there's an underlying sense of heart and not taking life too seriously. If you're a Drag Race fan, or just looking for a good laugh, definitely check this out.

Every moment of this book is perfection. If you are a fan of Trixie and Katya, consider this book required reading. TRULY BRILLIANT!

This was such a fun read! I LOVE Trixie and Katya, so I'd read anything they put out, but this was a genuinely fun, unique, and interesting take on the "self-help for women" trend in publishing right now. SO funny, SO real, and SO much fun to read. Will definitely be recommending to any Trixie and Katya fans out there, or anyone who just needs a good laugh.

If you're a fan of RuPaul's Drag Race, you will enjoy this book. My favourite parts of the book are the conversations between Trixie and Katya. I could hear them in my head while reading. It's like a long version of their show Ugh and it's hilarious.
