Brenda Jackson never disappoints and this story was amazing! I love that Ms. Jackson creates characters that are realistic and not over the top, it makes it so much easier to connect with her stories.

Imagine a budding romance happening in a small town on the Bayou close to the City of New Orleans, where the people are friendly, the food is amazing, and the town is known for its blueberries and you have book 4 of the Cataline Cove series, Follow Your Heart.

Mama Laverne is at again with her match making subversions and this time her attention is on her great granddaughter Victoria Madaris. Now Victoria is quite content with her life. She is a successful television journalist on a popular news station, she is enjoying the cottage she rented that resides on an apple orchard, and she has made friends with many of the residence in Catalina Cove. But she knows Mama Laverne is persistent and has a 100% success ratio in matching the members of their family with their soulmate. Victoria fully trusts Mama Laverne's selection of a mate for her. The catch is Mama Laverne doesn't tell Victoria who the man is, she must wait for the man to approach her. So, when she happens to bump into long-time family friend Tanner Jamison in New Orleans, she assumes this is the man Mama Laverne must have chosen for her. When Tanner asks her out on a date, she knows for sure he us the man. Or is he?

Victoria meets Roman Malone Jr., who is an up-and-coming politician and just elected Senator for the state of Texas. They meet at the news station where she works, and he is there for an interview. Roman looked familiar, then she remembered that he is the Godson to her uncle and introduces herself. The attraction is instant between the two though both try to hide it.

Roman is not looking for love just some time away from all the press, stress and work in D.C. After the interview, he is headed to Catalina Cove, the perfect place to get away and relax. But when he finds out that Victoria lives there, it's the icing on the cake for him and he hopes to run into her again. Of course, they run into each other in Catalina Cove and the romance is on!

I could not put this book down! I was drawn into Victoria & Roman's love story I sighed during the romantic moments, was caught up with the twist & turns, enjoyed the steamy love scenes, and there is even another love story that readers will adore.

As all her fans know, Brenda Jackson is an amazing writer and this time she lures you into the world of Cataline Cove where the cast of characters feel like family and the place feels like home.

This is the fourth book in the Catalina Cove series, but can be read as a standalone. Victoria Madaris' great-grandmother is a matchmaker for the family and she is now looking for a match for Victoria. She decides on a match, but doesn't tell Victoria who it is, all Victoria knows is that rising US Senator Roman Malone is unsuitable. She is sure that Mama Laverne wants to match her with Tanner Jamison, a man that she is not attracted to. The more she sees Tanner around, the more sure she is that he is not the right man for her, and the more she sees Roman, she finds more and more that she likes about him. What is she to do, Mama Laverne is never wrong.

In the installment in the Catalina Cove series, Brenda Jackson served up a two-for-one romance. I thought that Victoria and Roman were a perfect match from the start, both driven, the same interests and immediately attracted to each other. They have known each other through family friends, but never really thought about a relationship before. It took awhile for Roman and Victoria to realize how much they were attracted to each other on several levels, and once they do, things do not go well. With both of them being celebrities in the area, there are people watching. There's is a well written friends to lovers trope, with quite a bit of sizzle and intimacy. Tanner and Lyric, the other couple were not quite as sweet together. Tanner was a womanizer and had interest in a relationship, he just wanted to use Lyric, "one and done" was his motto. Lyric was also not interested in a relationship, but eventually, their attraction to one another is too difficult to resist. Lyric is the one who resists and almost has Tanner begging her to give him a chance. This is a small town romance, so you know there will be some interactions between the two couples. There is a twist that causes some conflict and possible romance, but we do get two happily ever afters in this story. I will say that there are some rather descriptive sex scenes, so be warned. I did a read/listen with this book. The audiobook was narrated by Ron Butler. I found it interesting that it was a male narrator for a romance, but it worked. It was a good fit as most of the story is told from the POV of Tanner and Roman.

Received a copy of this book for review. Overall it is a good read for me. Love the chemistry between the main characters. Love all the characters. What I love is that each of them does make a difference to the story as it developed. Like to read how the characters In the story are interrelated to each other. It make the story more exciting to read. The setting of the story is nice and is fit nicely to the story.Story plot are well penned out, with a slight twist to it in the end

Victoria is next in line for her matchmaking grandma extraordinaire. But not like another member of her family, she is very happy to be next and to meet the love of her life. She thinks she has her grandma all figure out and knows who the guy is, but she feels nothing for him and he for her. Regardless she is willing to put all her trust in her grandma.

In the meantime, she meets Roman. He is a politician, but also hot and kind, and they have inside chemistry. The more time they spend together deeper the bond gets. But she is still holding back.

Tanner, the guy she thinks she is supposed to be with her, falls for the health inspector. :)

It's a lovely story of two reluctant couples finding love. While I somewhat liked the storyline, I had a hard time staying focused on the book, it was overly long.

A good read but I feel like I should have read the books before this one...just for a little more context. Anyolways, here Victoria Madaris is ready to be matched and with the help of her grandmother, its about to happen just not with the man she thought it would be. Enters Roman and he was good for Victoria as she was good for him.

This really was a lighthearted, cute read. I enjoyed the chemistry between Victoria and Roman, thought they had good energy on page. My only issue I had here was the secondary romance, I feel like it would have been better if the other couple got their own book but alas...

I'm not mad at this book at all. If you're looking for a easy but kind of complicated romance, then Brenda Jackson always has you on ready.

*Thank you to the publisher/author for the opportunity to read and review.

Romance fans of Brenda Streater Jackson are in for a treat in FOLLOW YOUR HEART. This Catalina Cove story is now my favorite one of the three previous books. First, it includes the Madaris family, one of the premier book families in Black Romancelandia. Second, it features one of the most quintessential characters created by the talented Ms Jackson in the persona of Felicia Laverne Madaris, aka Mama Laverne, the notorious match-making, ninety-something matriarch of the Madaris family. In this story, her great-grandaughter, Victoria Madaris takes center stage as the next “victim” of Mama Laverne’s match-making skills.
The Madaris family quickly becomes aware that Victoria is the next great-grand that Mama Laverne has predicted will take that walk down the aisle. Her mate? Well, that’s where things get unpredictable and quite intriguing. I love the uncertainty that Victoria is grappling with as to whom her future husband will be. Enter two men with ties to the Madaris family, Tanner Jamison and Senator Roman Malone. Part of this story’s appeal is the parallel love affairs that occur. No spoilers and no tea will be spilled, but I got to tell you that love is alive and well in Catalina Cove. All the elements of great story telling are present. From sterling characterization to well-developed internal and external conflicts, all help to make FOLLOW YOUR HEART a captivating story.
The Madaris family members, like Jake and Diamond, Christie and Alex, and Blade, along with the couples from previous Catalina Cove stories, are all present and help to move the storyline along.
FOLLOW YOUR HEART is a delightful, engaging, and entertaining story that I recommend for your reading pleasure. What a treat to visit with the Madaris family members and friends again! Enjoy!

Follow Your Heart is a wonderful addition to the Catalina Cove Series. Brenda Jackson has done it again incorporating characters and families from some of her previous books in this book. The lead characters of Victoria Madaris, Tanner Jamison, Roman Malone, and Lyric Evans are all interesting stand alone characters but put them together and you get wonderful stories with a side of mystery thrown into the mix. If you are a person who loves or even likes romance novels this book is definitely for you.

Looking forward to the next great story in the Catalina Cove Series by Ms. Jackson. She always fulfills all anticipation about any of her stories. Victoria Madaris is anxiously anticipating who her grandmother Felicia LaVerne Madaris has chosen for her. Mama LaVerne is well known for her matchmaking skills.
