As a fan of the original Carmen Sandiego, I love the new Netflix show and that there are books, graphic novels no less, based of it is just the icing on the cake. I really enjoyed this.

I had a blast reading this graphic novel. Carmen learns of a plan Vile has, and tries to find some way to stop it. Yet a new recruit of theirs proves to be a lot of trouble. Taking them down won’t be easy, and stopping them might be harder than it looks. Yet as this graphic novel comes to a close, Carmen stops Vile’s plans and recovers an important historical artifact. If you are a fan of the animated series then this is a graphic novel you will want to read.

This was my favorite show growing up so I do have a bit of nostalgia attached to it. My 7 and 9 year old love the Netflix show and those who have watched it will know exactly what to expect from this but that doesn't make it any less fun. Gorgeous illustrations and nice description of characters and geography facts that you expect from the series.

This book was received as an ARC from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Children's Book Group - Etch/HMH Books for Young Readers in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I was a fan of Carmen San Diego the cartoon on FOX way back in the 90s and now that it is not only a show on Netflix but a thrilling and breathtaking graphic novel series, I had to jump at the chance and see what is in store for the series. Carmen San Diego was abandoned as a child and found by agents of VILE that stood for stealing ancient artifacts and plan to overthrow the government and authorities. Carmen had to escape and ever since, she has been on the run from agents everywhere stealing artifacts herself before VILE gets them. I loved the artwork and it brought the show to life and after reading this installment, I can't wait to see the series on Netflix.

We will consider adding this title to our JGraphic collection at our library. That is why we give this show 5 stars.

Having watched the Netflix series before going into this graphic novel, I knew exactly what to expect of this story. It was a fun jump around the world as Carmen and her friends tried to stop Vile from stealing the Magna Carta. I felt the episode was broken down rather nicely to create a story that doesn’t feel lacking, though it doesn’t include everything from the show.

I appreciated the short introduction to characters, making it easy for reading these out of order of publication. Another good note is the short descriptors that make it easy to follow along with what is left out of the illustrations.

The copy I read was incomplete, only some pictures appearing done. Though, I have read the other graphic novels in this series and always enjoy the unique art style and color shading. I’ll look forward to seeing the finished product and its dazzling panel art after publication, and continue to recommend Carmen Sandiego to others.

My son loves the series on Netflix. I like that the book includes more facts about the locations depicted in the episode. Paper star is his favorite character! I think young elementary students will really enjoy this. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for this unbiased review.

Thumbs up from a 7 year old reader who has enjoyed past Carmen Sandiego books.

I like this series as an adult because it is a quick read and has lots of action. I loved Carmen Sandiego as a kid and am enjoying its return.

It's so nice to see this character coming back into fashion. She was a favorite of mine as a young girl and I love seeing the impact of her character and lessons on this young generation. The graphics were excellent.
