I read Mell eight years ago and remember enjoying the stories but this one was a miss for me. I liked the dragon lab plot but the entire romance was very rushed and completely unbelievable. The excuses each made in their head felt juvenile and just there to have some sort of conflict. Neither made any sense as both were supposed to be these rare, very special, and magical beings. Also, since the MC had such strong magic, there wasn’t ever any real sense of suspense in any of the fights. Also, the MC’s heritage was not very well developed. The whole thing just felt rushed. This seems to be a reprint of another one from LT3 Press closing, as there appears to be a full series previously published.

I remember enjoying the few paranormal gay romances I had read from Mell Eight years ago, but did not like this one. I feel that this novella could have benefited from more editing, for its repetitive statements, for too much detail in some aspects and too little in others, for vague characterization. What I did not feel was a connection between the main protagonists; their relationship was too much lust-at-first-sight to have developed into cohabiting and co-parenting in a matter of days (weeks?).
