This follow-up to Bringing Down the Duke was a fun read! The strong leader in the first novel, Lucie, gets her own romance in this one as she meets her match in the rakish Tristan.

As a huge fan of Bringing Down the Duke, I was incredibly excited to read the second installment in Evie Dunmore's series, A Rogue of One's Own. Just like the first book, this one is filled with pining, sassy women, and progressive 19th century politics that make it an interesting cocktail for a romance reader. This book, compared to Bringing Down the Duke, was steamier and sometimes more fun--I loved Lord Ballentine and the chemistry between the two characters was unreal. Overall, I was happy with this one, and will keep reading Evie Dunmore!

Well I'm six months late on this; but A Rogue of One's Own was a ton of fun. I don't know why I didn't get around to it sooner. I enjoy modern sensibilities in a historical setting, and Lucie's fiery nature was a delight.

I laughed, I cried, I raged and and so enjoyed this book. I may have loved this even more than the first in Evie Dunmoore's series and am now way too excited for the third one to be released. Dunmoore has mastered a writing quality that is reminiscent of the time period, but also refreshingly modern.
The banter, the sass, the attraction disguised as dislike; an enemies to lovers and slow burn romance sure to enjoy. I loved every moment of it. Lucie is a spitfire; a strong-willed, intelligent woman and I felt I was fighting beside her as she fought for women's rights in a time when they had so little. Dunmoore was able to beautifully have Lucie reconcile her belief system with her growing affection forTristan without it feeling like she was abandoning them. At times her stubbornness, her unwillingness to bend or face her emotions had me wanting to shake her by the shoulders. Tristan: lovable "bad guy" with a heart of gold. I really loved that even though Lucie was clearly annoyed with him most of the time, we saw just how much (and how long) he had been in love with HER. That he loved her for her intelligence, dedication and wasn't unwilling to help her with her cause though he had reasons of his own to be a co-owner of the publishing house. There is some really great growth for both of these characters.

I will say that while I loved it, I did put it down about half way through for a good month with no motivation to pick it up. Could have been I was just in a slump or it could be that it was a little slow paced for what I was hoping for in the moment. But once the action and story picked up, I couldn't put it down!

I have tried to continue this series several times now and unfortunately I just can’t get into it. I really thought maybe o would like the second book more but it just didn’t work for me. Thank you netgalley for my free copy

I was on pins and needles trying to figure it out with them.

Violet was a sweet spunky character, so intelligent and big hearted, yet with the insecurities that plaque women from time to time. I just adored her! Arthur was the perfect fit, protective, but so onboard with Violet expressing her ideas and phenomenal brains!

A Lady’s Formula for Love was a delightful romp with quirky characters, laugh-out-loud moments, and a steamy romance.

This was a slow burn for me. It just never caught my attention. I found myself getting distracted while reading. This is more on me than the book. I am not a fan of third person point of view. I have a harder time engaging with the story. I think I am an odd one out and that many people will enjoy this book!

This book gave me everything I need when it comes to fun, friendship and femenism. I loved this one and couldn't put it down. I can't wait for more books in this series.

I am a huge fan of Evie Dunmore's smart, strong heroines! Her books need to be on the shelves of every romance reader.

A Rogue of One's Own is an exquisite historial romance that focuses heavily on the women's rights in and around London in 1865. Our main character is headstrong, independent, intelligent Lady Lucie. Lucie needs to buy shares of a major London Publishing house so she can publish to women unimpeded. She has just one issue: Tristan Ballentine. Tristan has been a childhood fo and he happens to own half the shares of the same publishing house.

Get ready for a super-steamy, but oh-so-fun enemies-to-loves romance! And Dunmore really lays on the steam! Have a cold beverage handy. Lots of rollercoaster emotions and a ton of drama ensue in A Rogue of One's Own. A book that is sure to keep you turning pages long into the night.

It starts off slow and kind of dense, but once the action begins, it's hard to resist the story as it drives forward. It reads as a true epic, one that makes you feel the world really has been reshaped as you read it. Would recommend.

A Rogue of One's Own was such a fun and enjoyable read! The plot was very interesting and entertaining and I loved the chemistry between Lucie and Tristan. I also really like Evie Dunmore's style of writing and can't wait to check out the next book in this series once it is released.

I know so many people are going to love this book but unfortunately it just wasn't for me. Maybe her next book.

I was a huge fan of Evie Dunmore's first book, Bringing Down the Duke, and was anxious to begin reading A Rogue One's Own. It took me a little while to get around to but once I sat down, I was fully immersed in the romance. And then, there was a scene involving animal cruelty that made my stomach twist. I was not prepared for something so terrible in a book that is supposed to be about love and female empowerment. I didn't think twice about it, I put the book on my shelf and do not plan to finish it. I might anticipate something involving animal cruelty in a thriller but never in a romance like this. It was highly disappointing.

Love, love, love! I cannot wait for more in the series to come out. Evie Dunmore makes my little feminist heart soar, and I have fallen in love with each and every one of her female characters (and the men aren't so bad either.)

I enjoy the historical parts of this series but am just truly not a romance person so I get hung up in those portions of the book. I think that really just means this is not the series for me.

A Rouge of One's Own is the delightful sequel to Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore. In a time when shows like Bridgerton are setting fire to Netflix viewing records, what's old is hot, hot, hot.

These books are great because they are not just about ladies in their drawing rooms, but they are also about bold women fighting for the vote. I love the wit and fire of the characters that Dunmore writes about.

With this novel, we fall deeper into the story of Lucie as she fights for control over a publishing house against a man who drives her crazy - Lord Ballantine.

Just as fun as the first book in the series involving a heroine I don't know if I've encountered in romance before. I enjoyed it a lot and am looking forward to more from Dunmore.

I'm going to be honest and tell you that I forgot to review this book after I read it. I really liked the first book in this series, but this one (from what I remember--it's been a few months) really drags. I'll keep reading this author, but this one just wasn't for me.

This is my first book by Evie and I was pleasantly surprised. It's based around the time the suffragist movement had started and I loved Lucie's character. Even after she fell in love, she was not a typical protagonist where she gives up her fight for the rest of woman kind just for her happily ever after.

I liked how female centric the story was, the focus was on her work and the love story was just a part of it. I really enjoyed reading the book.

This book started out a little bit slow, but I loved it so much! I love how romance isn’t the main theme of the book and it focuses on female friendships and feminism too. It’s funny, smart, and addictive!
