I received an ARC of this book. Release date is May 18th.

Alexei is an assassin for the Forgotten Brotherhood. He’s a polar bear/vampire hybrid and has gotten the contract to kill Cassandra a reaper.

Cassandra is tired of reaping and is working as a bartender in Alaska when Alexei walks into her bar. They have an instant attraction that has Alexei going from assassin to protector.

Alexei is just amazing. He’s strong and sexy, but we see such an awkward and sweet side of him with Cassie. I love how blunt he is.

Cassie is such a good match for him. She is deadlier than him and not afraid of who he is and what he needs.

This book was so good! I read it in one sitting and loved every second of it. Great suspense, steamy lovin and a sweet and strong relationship between the MCs.

I haven’t read NJ Walters in awhile and I’m so going back to read the previous book in the series.

Oh my, this was just what I needed … a nice paranormal fantasy / romance that was a VERY nice escape from our current “normal” life.

The characters were very engaging, and the storyline was perfect for me … not so slow that you lose interest, nor so fast that you feel like you’re missing anything. This book is the 2nd story in the Forgotten Brotherhood series, but works well as a standalone. I WILL be checking out other books by this author. 😃

ARCTIC BITE is a paranormal romance with an interesting premise. The Forgotten Brotherhood is a group of immortal assassins who kill other immortals (they are not impossible to kill, just very difficult), typically those that have gone off the rails. Alexei is a polar bear shifter/vampire and one of the assassins of the Forgotten Brotherhood. He is checking out his current mission to kill Cassie. He does not like to kill just because he is paid to, but instead checks out the immortals he is sent to kill to make sure they should actually be killed.

With Cassie, there is nothing to make him think that she is doing anything wrong. He is not even sure what type of immortal she is, as she lives like a human. However, before he can investigate too much, others show up for the bounty on her head.

Cassie is on the run and has been hiding in a remote town. She left her immortal job behind, and knows that people are looking for her, as it is not a job you can just quit. She finds Alexei immediately attractive.

In terms of what I liked, I enjoyed the premise of the Forgotten Brotherhood, and the different types of immortals. I connected with Alexei pretty quickly and was intrigued by his past, which is slowly revealed throughout the book.

In terms of things I did not like, the romance goes from 0 to I love you in no time, and I did not feel a connection between the two with some talking or getting to know each other first. It was pretty much immediate lust that is construed as love really fast. This might be a spoiler, so skip beyond this if you don't want to know, but one of them is also a virgin, and it felt like such a trope that I would have rather skipped it- there was not a clear reason and it took over the experience a bit.

Overall, it was a steamy paranormal romance with an interesting premise. I think it will really appeal to many readers looking for a hot and heavy relationship without much build. Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.

A little different paranormal romance with a polarbread-vampire Alexei and a soul reaper Cassie.
Alexei is checking out a possible hit on Cassie but discovers there more to Cassie than what he was led to believe.
Drama.mystery,twists and romance.
Good intriguing story .
Voluntarily Reviewed.

Alexei is a typical man when a pretty woman shows interest, "now her eyes did widen slightly, and she ran her gaze over his body. “I guess there’s a lot of you to fill.” He barely resisted the urge to puff out his chest" Alexei holds nothing back, “let’s have ***?” God, she loved how blunt he was." I liked this book, I loved Alexei.

The cover of this book is what drew my attention but the great story kept me reading.
Alexei Medvedev is a hybrid and a assassin for the Forgotten Brotherhood. Cassie Donna is the target for a hit. Instead of killing her he protects her.
This was a great paranormal romance full of action and just different enough to hold your interest until the surprising ending.

The second in Walters' Forgotten Brotherhood series this book tells the tale of Alexei - the vampire-polar shifter and Cassie - a reaper (and as it turns out Death's daughter).

This was an entertaining read and left me eager to see who in the Brotherhood gets their story next!

Wow, where has N.J. Walters been all my life? Seriously, how am I just now discovering her? Needless to say, this was my first book by the author but also definitely going to be my first book in a long line of obsessive-based mainlining of her work. I get a little OCD like that.

I honestly didn't know what to expect when I picked requested this ARC but I was absolutely entertained. Forgotten Brotherhood of badass warriors of unimaginable skill and power that are assassins for paranormals? Vampire Bear shifters? Grim Reapers/Death's right-hand reaper? Ummm, sign me up twice!

I, unfortunately, couldn't get my hands on the first in the series fast enough so I was a little, contextually, out of the loop but not in a major way. Regardless, Artic Bite was fun and entertaining with a little bit o' steam mixed in. I love all things paranormal and the world is really very interesting. I seriously am so on board for more. *Please reference aforementioned statement on OCD mainlining of other works by the author.*

I absolutely recommend for those looking for an entertaining and fun new paranormal series.

Arctic Bite is the 2nd book to the Forgotten Brotherhood by N.J Walters and I find that this book was written far more smoothly than the first book. The Forgotten Brotherhood are a group of assassins, they are the baddest of the baddest and their leader is Maccus Fury (Book 1, Fury Unleashed). The operate solo, not as a group or with another member. Each of them are deadlier than your usual shifters.

Alexei Medvedev is a hybrid, he is a bear shifter and a vampire .... both deadly predators and he given the job to assassinate Cassie Dobbs. However, before he accepted the job he wanted to check out what and why is Cassie Dobbs being marked for assassination. Thus begin an exciting and sexy adventure. Cassie Dobbs is no ordinary paranormal, she has been around since the dawn of time. Much of Cassie's background is a mystery that will be unravel as the story progresses.

I enjoyed reading this book, it wasn't boring and I find the dialogue funny and engaging. The sexual chemistry between the 2 main characters sizzles the pages. I cannot wait for the 3rd book.

I was gifted a copy by Netgalley, however views above are all my own.

So, what is your favourite type of shifter, and what breed of bear is it? For me, it’s Polar Bears, and Alexei was perfect, and different. He thought he was less because he was different, but in the end, that is what made all the more special. Cassandra thought she was doomed, because of what she was, and what she’d done, run from her responsibilities. She couldn’t be more wrong, but it takes a lot of heartbreak to get to that realization.

What isn’t in doubt, the attraction and the steaminess between these two. Age, reasons, meaning, and time, all cease to exist when these two are together. Their bond is deep, their love is great, their moments are all special. I felt all their pain, all their joy, all their doubt and worries. I felt with them, and for them, and I loved every second of it!

This book put a smile on my face. I really enjoyed the main characters and their interactions with each other. The book had a great flow to it and that is really important in a Paranormal romance. The author really made an effort to make these characters likable as well as relatable. This was a fun and easy read that had a very satisfying ending. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves paranormal romance.

**I received a copy of Arctic Bite from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary review. My opinions are honest and not solicited in any way.**

Arctic Bite by N. J. Walters is the second book in her Forgotten Brotherhood and while I loved Maccus and Morrigan in the first book Cassie and Alexei grew on me as I got further in the book. It's a solid 4 stars and I can't wait for the next book. The plot twist at the final chapters was amazing and I sure didn't see that coming at all.

Alexei Medvedev is researching his next contract who happens to be the bartender in a Nome, AK pub. What he learns about watching Cassie Dobbs is that she cares and watched over her patrons so he's confused as why she needs to die. He's a polar bear-vampire hybrid and he hasn't figure out what Cassie is other than she smells like flowers (A Reaper). When they break up a fight she invites him upstairs to stay the night. They are soon on the run from vampires who want to collect the bounty on her head.

Cassie Dobbs walked away from her job and wants to just experience life. She didn't expect to have a bounty on her head or to meet Alexei who tells her there's a bounty on her head. When one of her own Reapers wants to collect the bounty its Alexei who'll hear the siren call of her scythe. When you add in their escape to Russia (his home is a cave) plus there's the big reveal at the end and you have a kick ass heroine.

What a thrilling paranormal romance by N.J. Walters. I simply could not put the book down. It was well-written with an intriguing plot.

I just love Alexei & Cassie is such a strong female character in this book.
It’s the second in the Forgotten Brotherhood series that although is a great standalone does touch on the previous book characters & a mention of Drakons!
I don’t want to give any of the storyline away as it is just so great & I loved every page.
This is shaping in a fantastic series & each book develops the brotherhood more.
I was lucky enough to have an ARC but this is a keeper that I’m sure to read again

Alexel Medvedev is an assassin and a part of the Forgotten Brotherhood. These members get the job done no matter what. But.... Alexel always does his own investigating before he strikes his kill. Good thing because this latest job to eliminate Cassie Dobbs proves to foreshadow a passion for him that he cannot resist. Great characters and action. This is a part of N.J. Walters' Forgotten Brotherhood series but reads fine as a stand-alone. " A copy of this book was provided by entangled via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

I love the idea of this world the author's created. There's so many directions for the series. This one was slow and had me skimming between the action scenes because of too much internal dialogue. I really liked the twist at the end and hope to see more development in future books. Although this one didn't work for me, I loved the first one and am anxious to read more in the series.

2.5

Alexei Medvedev is a hybrid shifter who is an assassin with the Forgotten Brotherhood. The Brotherhood are a group of immortals who take on contracts to kill other immortals who have gone rogue.

Cassie Dobbs is a bartender in Alaska who live a quiet life, going so far as to even reside above the bar that she keeps. She has no real friends, no family and no real connections other than taking care of her regular bar patrons.

Alexei always investigates marks before accepting the contracts on their lives to make sure they deserve to die. He cannot figure out why Cassie needs to die or what type of immortal she is for that matter. He does find himself drawn to her and Cassie in return finds herself drawn to him as well. Soon they find themselves on the run when someone else decided to take Cassies contract and Alexei decides he has to protect her. Their attraction is exciting and I found myself rooting for them. This story sucked me in and held on tight! There were a couple of plot twist that grabbed me. The ending left me satisfied but also left it open just enough for there to be another book in the series if the author so chooses.

I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley in return for my honest review.

Amazing!

Another fantastic book by Ms. Walters. Action, twists, heart and undying love woven expertly in Andrei and Cassie's story. Plus a visit from my favorite...Maccus!

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series but reads well as a stand alone. I really enjoyed this book. I liked the spirit of the characters. Cassie is a "retired" reaper and Alexei is a polar bear/vampire! I loved that combo. A fun read. 3.5 stars. If you like paranormal romance with a bit of intrigue this one is a good one for you.
