A Heartfelt Christmas Promise by Nancy Naigle was the perfect kick-off Christmas novel for this year. When the story started with the idea of Vanessa spending Christmas in Paris, I was super excited to read about her adventures there, but then everything changed and she ended up in a small town in North Carolina. I think I was as let down as she was with the new locale. But, the story shifted and I fell in love with Fraser Hills (fruitcake capital of the USA), right along with Vanessa. A Heartfelt Christmas Promise could very well be made into a Hallmark movie, it's clean and sweet with a sense of Christmas magic. I could feel the chemistry between Mike and Vanessa and loved her relationship with Misty, Mike's daughter. Buck was another character I really enjoyed. I would highly recommend this Christmas story! |
A perfect book to get into the Christmas spirit. Such a sweet story. Glad that I got access to it. Definitely recommend. |
A Heartfelt Christmas Promise by Nancy Naigle gave me all of the feels! This novel really captured the true essence of Christmas. If you’re a fan of Hallmark movies, then this is your book. Set in a small picturesque town, with numerous holiday festivities, some family drama, and a little bit of romance; Naigle’s latest checks all of the boxes. You’ll want to get cozy under a fuzzy blanket, with a warm beverage, your Christmas pjs, and curl up with this heartwarming book. I adored all of the characters, the interesting storyline, and the strong focus on family. Oh, and did I mention that there’s fruitcake involved? And a puppy? You don’t want to miss this charming story! |
A sweet Christmas romance It was the worst time to shut down a business, but it’s what Vanessa had to do. She was sent to Fraser Hills, North Carolina to shut down Porter’s Fruitcake factory. When Vanessa gets there, she starts to fall in love with the town and its people, including Mike, who has his own ties to Porter’s. Now, Vanessa has to figure out how to satisfy her boss and remain in favor to her new friends in Frasier Hills. This story totally swept me away. The descriptions of the town were so detailed, I could easily visualize them. I became attached to the characters as well and couldn’t wait to see how Vanessa would keep everyone happy in the end. This book would make a wonderful holiday movie with its strong family ties and heartfelt storyline. |
This book is perfect holiday read I felt like I stepped into a Hallmark Christmas movie and that’s exactly what I needed, especially during this time of being stuck home. Vanessa Larkin is sent to Fraser Hill North Carolina to a small town by her work just before Thanksgiving, instead of Paris or Leavenworth like she was dreaming about. Her job is to shut down a fruitcake factory named Porter Fruitcake Company which is the small towns main business. With shutting the business down it makes room for a sporting goods company for a warehouse space. She doesn’t get a happy welcome, she’s not the first person her company has sent down to close the company. She’s making it her mission to get in an out quickly. Soon she finds herself falling for the small town. Her cousin Anna comes in to join her for a Christmas visit. She begins to wonder if there’s a way for her to make the small town and her company happy. Anna begins to fall for the small town as soon as she arrives and soon meets someone special. Vanessa is Always putting work first , Fraser Hill begins to opens her eyes to see what she’s missing in her life . This book is filled with the Christmas spirit and will leave a smile on your face! I’m giving this five stars I loved it! Perfect Holliday read! |
This was a book outside my usual genres, but I found myself enjoying the story! I admire the author for setting the plot in a small-town setting and introducing characters I fell in love with. Overall, this was a quick holiday read to life a reader’s spirits! |
This is a small town Christmas romance and it is very heartwarming. The writing is very descriptive and will capture you from the beginning. It is sure to get you into the spirit of Christmas. Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion. |
Nancy Naigle is fast becoming one of my favorite authors for excellent Christmas reading, and A Heartfelt Christmas Promise really seals the deal. I loved every page, although I’ve got to say, the pup was my favorite! |
The Hallmark Movie Queen, herself, has done it again! She has written several books that are Hallmark movies & oh how I love them all! I’m a big fan. Not only is she in my home state of NC, but she sets this book in the fictional town of Fraser Hills in NC. Vanessa is our main character with a busy career that leads her to the small mountain town. She had no idea that she’d find a place she didn’t even know she needed to slow down and appreciate the good things. She meets amazing people in the small town and maybe, a love she wasn’t even looking for. Perhaps the best part for me....is the sweet pup, Scooter, of course! I love when dogs are in books and this little guy really touched my heart! Isn’t he just the cutest on the cover? Thanks to Nancy, Kate Rock, St. Martin’s Press & NetGalley for my copy of this adorable book! A definitely merry 5 ⭐️ for me, a self-proclaimed, #hallmarkmoviequeen, for my love of all of them! |
This book was so cute! It’s a little predictable, but I really enjoyed it. It read like a hallmark movie and a warm blanket. I loved the big city girl meets small town life and how she must adapt for them. Loved it. |
This holiday story is full of wisdom and feel goods and made me think about things in my own life. Vanessa is a workaholic who is looking forward to going to some wonderful location for her next assignment, but things do not go as planned and she is sent to a small town in North Carolina to close down a fruitcake factory to make way for a sporting goods facility. Before leaving Chicago, Vanessa makes plans with her cousin, Anna, for them to spend Christmas together. Anna feels that this trip will be good for Vanessa and hopes that it will help Vanessa to find some balance in her life. Mike and his daughter, Misty live in Fraser Hills, NC; she works at the fruitcake retail shop and he runs a Percheron horse farm. Mike's grandfather used to own the fruitcake factory, but sold it to a conglomerate and Mike has been on the outs with him ever since. Misty is now worried about her job because they have been told that someone from corporate is coming, but they haven't been told why and why so close to Christmas. Vanessa arrives in town and starts to get the lay of the land, but she soon learns that what she has been told and what she is finding out are two totally different things. Soon she will have to decide whether she follows what her company wants her to do or what her heart and mind are telling her to do. Vanessa and her cousin make some interesting friends along the way and Vanessa soon learns what it means to live in a small town. This was a wonderful book to read and I loved the dynamics involved. Thanks to Netgalley, author Nancy Naigle and St. Martin's Griffin I was allowed to read an ARC of this wonderful book. The above is my freely given review and all thoughts and opinions expressed here are strictly my own. |
Wonderful Christmas novel! Vanessa gets assigned to go to Fraser Hills, North Carolina during the holidays to take care of one of the small businesses her company owns. She’s disappointed she gets this assignment because she was hoping to go somewhere else exciting for the holidays. So she’s hoping to get there and finish her work quickly. The story is heartwarming. It’s set in a small town where everyone knows everyone. Soon everyone knows why Vanessa is there. And while some people welcome her, others are angry at her. The town and the people begin to grow on Vanessa. |
A Heartfelt Christmas Promise is the perfect book to kickstart your holiday reading. If you’re a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies, you are sure to love this book. An easy, enjoyable, cozy, read. I really enjoyed this one and would definitely recommend it. |
A small town, heartwarming holiday read. I always dream of my holidays looking like those of Hallmark movies and while real life doesn't always go that way, I seek out stories where I can get the same feel. Nancy Naigle takes you to charming Fraser Hills, NC where everybody knows each other; all the good and bad. Vanessa works for a large corporation whom is sent to Fraser Hills to close down Porter's, a fruitcake company. As she is there, she gets to know the employees and community members. What will Vanessa choose to do and will she follow through with her company's plan? I enjoyed that Nancy Naigle focused on family relationships and small town community with this story as it felt more relatable than a quick holiday romance. I pictured myself walking down Main Street with Vanessa, meeting all of the community members and attending the holiday events. Thank you Nancy Naigle and KateRock Book Tours for the opportunity to read an early copy of this book. All of my thoughts and opinions are my own. |
Vanessa Larkin is sent to Fraser Hills, North Carolina during the holidays to shut down Porter’s Fruitcake Factory to make way for a sporting goods warehouse. Once she gets to town she starts to rethink her priorities as the people and spirit of the town begin to teach her a new perspective on life and love. This book has such picturesque descriptions that I felt like I was standing in downtown Fraser Hills. I could smell the cinnamon wafting from the fruitcake factory and feel the snow falling on my jacket while watching the band march down the street at the Christmas parade. There are so many wonderful characters and great scenes in this book that I encourage you to make this one of your holiday reads! |
Fruitcake Small Town Holiday Romance Where do I sign up! Nancy Naigle gave this Holiday Romance a special touch with its charming characters, I absolutely loved reading about. I cuddled up with my ebook over the weekend and enjoyed this Hallmark read. Set in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, I loved reading about the town, the festivities, the chemistry between Vanessa and Mike, the amazing cast of characters, and I was really immersed in this cozy read I can read over and over again! There is something magical about reading Christmas Novellas where you can get lost in a heartwarming story, restore your hope, and leave you warm and fuzzy, and always in a good mood. I hope you can take a look at this latest from Nancy Naigle for a chance to read a Christmas cozy you never knew you needed! |

Any holiday book with a puppy on it has to be a winner! Vanessa Larkin has been assigned by her Chicago company, which has purchased Porter’s, a fruitcake factory in Fraser Hills, N.C., to shot down the operation and convert the property into warehouse space. Not exactly how she was planning to spend the holidays. And when the residents of the town find out what Vanessa is there for, many give her the cold shoulder in spite of the retirement packages and other job opportunities she’s offering. Vanessa does see a path forward because the fruitcake operation doesn’t even use the warehouse space, but she will have to convince the powers that be to keep the fruitcake business open and keep that legacy alive not only for the town, but the family who founded the business. A nice holiday read! |
A truly special thank you to Nancy, Kate Rock and St Martins Press for this Christmas work of art. And stay tuned, on Sunday, I’ll be doing a Book Tour for this wonderful novel! Vanessa Larkin, a corporate account executive is supposed to be headed to beautiful Paris or Washington for the upcoming Christmas holiday for work. Her dear cousin, Anna has been longing to spend time together and due to Vanessa’s workaholic tendencies that hasn’t happened. Vanessa gets the shock of her life when her boss sends her to Frasier Hills instead. A beautifully quaint small town with loads of character. What will this job force her to do or will the town help her decide how to handle things. I truly loved this, a Hallmark movie type book and a great moral. You all should grab it and read it! Where can I find a small town like this? Such a dream to live in a place like this. A town that sticks and works together. Beauty in this crazy, pandemic life were living in now. That’s what I want. |
Thanks to St. Martin's Griffin/ St. Martin's Press for an advanced copy of A Heartfelt Christmas Promise. This was such a sweet and wonderful Christmas book. If I don't see it as a Hallmark movie in 2021, I'd be shocked. Part of the reason I love Christmas books so much is their predictibility and while you know what's going to happen and how slightly cheesy they are, I enjoy reading them. This is your classic big city girl ends up in small town for work over the holiday season and ends up falling in love with the town. What's not to love! I loved the setting of the North Carolina mountains and the adorable little pup. If you're looking for a cute, fun Christmas book, highly recommend A Heartfelt Christmas Promise! |
Vanessa is a very driven person and always prioritizing her work over anything. She’s too focused on her goals that she sometimes neglects to chill and relax and enjoy the little things. Until, of course, she got an assignment in Fraser Hills, North Carolina that changes everything for her. I like this story; it’s a reminder that people need to sit back and look around, and you will discover many extraordinary things in the world. Because sometimes we can get easily caught up with all our duties and obligations that we forget that life isn’t all about that. I fell in love with this story from the very first page. It wasn’t hard to do so at all. I adore the small-town setting and the whole holiday spirit! The chemistry between the characters is outstanding and incredible; isn’t finding love in the most unexpected place and time so romantic? If you haven’t read this book, now is the time! It is inspiring, delightful, and very entertaining! |
