Emory Martinez wakes up hungover in the bathroom of her condo. She has no idea how she got here, but knows that her best friend Tori took her out for a wild night. When Emory goes to Tori's house to figure out what happened, chaos ensues and the catfight spills into the street. The police come, the friendship is wrecked, and Emory goes home. Hours later, when Tori is found murdered, Emory becomes the number one suspect.

Emory is newly separated, newly unemployed, and newly accused of murder. As she tries to find her new normal, she realizes that she never actually knew Tori.

So many people could be the killer in this book. It is light and engaging, and it will keep you guessing.

This is a fun cozy read that kept me guessing throughout. I also liked the added interest of baking. Sometimes it was a bit unrealistic but all in all a very enjoyable book.

Emory gets hit with a lot of life changing situations in one day. All of a sudden she is the person of interest in the murder of her friend. One thing I enjoyed about this book was all of the creative cupcake flavors and the baking sessions. I thought the mystery was pretty decent although the ending felt a little too easy. I didn’t care for how Emory was written to be so naive and let everyone walk on top of her, including her mother. Towards the end, it felt like she was starting to stand up for herself so I hope that continues in the next book. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher, all opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book—I thought for a light, fun mystery it worked well. The lead character was a bit naive, but that happens a lot in series like this to propel the story. I liked where the character ended up by the end and would definitely read more in the series..

This is a little more gritty than the cozies I've read. It was kinda refreshing. I liked Emory. One thing after another was thrown at her and she persevered. Some of the goodies she baked sounded delicious - there's lots of recipes included! It was interesting to dig up Tori's past. An entertaining read and a good start to a new series. I look forward to reading book number two!

When cupcake creator Emory Martinez finds her husband and her best friend in their bed together tempers flare and Emory threatens her friend Tori. A few days later Tori is found murdered and Emory is under suspicion by the local police. Suspense mounts as someone is trying to frame Emory. You may find yourself rooting for her as she tries to prove her innocence at the same time as providing wonderful sweet treats for neighbors, friends and relatives. There is suspense, drama, and comedy in this book and a satisfying ending along with delicious recipes.

This was a fun mystery to read. I love the element of a baker and how the character was a bit all over the place. She soon go her act together and able to be her own heroine. Would definitely recommend!!

This book was not really my cup of tea for several reasons.
Firstly, none of the characters seemed likable (other than Lars) . They all came over as entitled and lacking in empathy.
Secondly, whilst the premise of the story is fine and interesting, the plot is scattered and too much of the prose is wasted (in my opinion) on descriptions of totally irrelevant situations and items (e.g. party set ups, putting out chairs, collapsing cakes etc etc).
Finally, this book really needed better editing to remove irrelevant plot periods to stick to the main body of the story. and to round out the characters and make them more relatable.
Working on the premise that it is as difficult and time consuming for the author to write a good or a bad book and because I do not like to post negative reviews I will not be sharing this feedback anywhere else.

Sprinkles of Suspicion is the first book in a new series- Cupcake Catering by Kim Davis.
Emory Martinez has quite an adventure when is she accused of murdering her best friend Tori.
She knows she is innocent but every time she turns around there is something else that points directly to her as the murderer. Someone is framing her, and she is going to find out who and why without ending up behind bars herself.
This is a great start to a new cozy mystery series.
I want to thank NetGalley and Kim Davis for an ARC for my honest and personal opinion.

I loved the Emory. Yes, she had flaws, but that's what made her real. She was a great baker, and no matter what obstacles she faced, she made sure she would show up where she was needed and deliver her treats. She trusted people way too much, and that got her into trouble. Her mother was over bearing, but her step father was great. This book had a lot of twists and turns, and there were even recipes at the end. I had no idea who the murderer was, and I was surprised to find out who it was, and the reason why they did it. I loved the way the book ended, and I hope there are more books to come.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the ebook copy in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed reading this book so much. It's a cozy mystery or a culinary cozy mystery because of the frequent mention of baking, cakes, cooking and cupcakes. Not to mention the great recipes for you to try at home at the end of the book.

It really had me guessing until the end as i tried to guess who the murderer was. This book is as entertaining as it is delicious. I highly recommend this book. I recommend this book to anyone who: likes cozy mysteries, culinary cozy mysteries, or just likes a good mystery that keeps you guessing.

Try crossing a murder fiction (where the prime suspect is acting as investigator trying to clear her increasingly lengthy list of charges) with a romantic fiction about a would-be cupcake caterer and you have Sprinkles of Suspicion! A quirky, light and surprisingly entertaining read.

Emory Martinez can’t seem to catch a break. Her husband cheats with her best friend and then she is the number one suspect of killing her best friend.
Betrayal, murder and suspense throughout. Characters are well developed and the story flows nicely. Emory is relatable, funny and a tough lady.
This is a great start to a fun series. It stumped me until the end. I am looking forward to more adventures with Emory.

his book is the first in a series Cupcake Catering Mystery Series and I cannot wait to read more! What I thought was going to be a silly novel turned out to be quite entertaining! *
Emory is being framed for her ex husbands disappearance. She decides that once the cops refuse to investigate another suspect that she would put matters in her own hands. Emory ends up getting herself into more trouble along the way which at times made me shake my head

Was expecting a cozy mystery. It was not your typical cozy read. My first read by this author.
Opens up to wife discovering husband and best friend together. A bit of a scuffle occurs.
Emory then finds body and must convince police she's innocent.
Wanted to slap a few of the characters. Was surprised by the culprit.
Quick read, will probably read more in series

This series is off to a great start!

This story is a cautionary tale of what happens when you do not choose friends wisely. Unfortunately in this case, Em did not have a chance to make good friends because of outside interference, as the reader will discover while reading the novel.

It was a good murder mystery book and the plot was good and the book was well written.
I think the thing keeping this from being a 4⭐ book for me is I really didn't like most of the characters personalities. It's hard to pin down exactly what didn't work for me in the personalities of the characters but I think the main character Emory was too naive and spaced out WAY too many times. The mother was completely off putting and at times the sister too but less so than the mother.

~~~May Contain spoilers~~~
I'm gonna keep this review short and crisp- I hated this book for the most most part. 1/5 stars
Enjoyable a bit at the beginning, this book wasted no time into quickly transforming into a train-wreck. The book's plot felt all over the place. Initial joy at the book's plot started turning into frustration. Plot-lines were started and dropped almost abruptly. How did her mum know when she reached home? Suspicious na? Well, no, we're going to leave the suspicion then and there and focus on cupcakes!
The lead character was especially pathetic. How could she be so clueless? Okay, I understand maybe she was clueless about her husband's affair... but clueless about almost everything? You must be kidding me! Regarding her relationship with Randall- no words!
The side characters felt underdeveloped. My only favourite character would probably be the protagonist's sister and her character's writing too wasn't excellently executed, just better than others.
The way in which the killer was revealed felt out-of-place. Like, seriously? The killer himself came to confess to her with the pre-assumption that she must have known something? Then that means the killer is not at all smart which is contrary to the image that was being shown to us since the beginning.
In short, you can say, I had problems with majority of the book.
