This book has a bit of romance in it so it adds a bit of spice to it. It had a fast pace to it. It was a different thriller knowing already who had done it. I didnt really feel the emotional connection with Evelyn and Conner and I really feel that it would have made a difference if I did. |
First book by this author and I really enjoyed it. It's not often you read a suspense or romantic suspense where you know who the bad guy is from the beginning. I liked that a lot. You get to learn more about why and how. The main characters were great and working together to make sure the bad guy doesn't get away with doing the same thing again. I would read more from this author. |
This one was difficult for me to get into and I had a hard time adjusting to the romance. Might pick up another book by this author in the future, but I was not a huge fan of the story in this one, although I found the ending pleasing. |
After much perseverance I finally got into this book and was actually interested in reading it. I was not expecting this to be a romance novel but it was a nice break from the usual thriller books that I do encounter. Even though it took me a while to get into the book and actually want to finish it the ending was worth the perseverance. |

Like others said, I wasn't expecting there to be romance necessarily but it was well done. It was intriguing, I liked the characters, and it was fast paced for the most part. I do feel the book could have kept going, or maybe I just didn't want it to end. Would definitely recommend to others. |
I found this book a little hard to get into, but once the story got started, I enjoyed the book. I wasn't expecting it to be as romantic a book as it is, but I do feel that bought quite a welcome break from the usual thriller that I've read a lot of recently. |
Girl Long Gone by Danielle M. Haas was everything I like in a book - fast-paced, a little bit flirty and fully thrilling ❤️ Evil, attractive Gabriel likes to abduct, mutilate and murder women, but his latest prey? He messed with the wrong family... Monica is missing and her hot-cop brother Connor is doing everything he can to find her and bring her safely home. In his off-duty investigation he stumbles across the beautiful Evelyn who unknowingly has ties to Gabriel. This was a relatively quick and easy read for me, likeable (and love to hate) characters, thrilling and a little bit of loving to round it out. I rate this book FOUR STARS! |
I don't think I anticipated this being a romance. It was an interesting story and I enjoyed the romance aspect and I enjoyed the thriller/suspense aspect but I'm not so sure I enjoyed it merged together. I really enjoyed the ending because she wasn't just a damsel in distress and she helped rescue herself. I don't think it'll be one a recommend though. |
I received a copy of GIRL LONG GONE on NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to the author and publisher for this opportunity. Five stars and here’s why: TOTAL BOOK HANGOVER. Danielle M. Haas does not disappoint! This is a romantic suspense that will keep you up all night long between hoping to figure things out and also the romantic intrigue. I’m a sucker for a hella-hot police officer and Connor Mitchell, part of the computer crimes unit, and Evelyn Price, a stalker’s potential next victim, have chemistry in spades! If you like fast-paced stories, excellent writing, and characters that stay with you long after the story ends, then this book is for you. Highly recommend. |
I'm on the hunt for more books by Danielle Haas...this one was thrilling and I couldn't put it down. It took you a ride that encompassed a killer, a detective, a victim and more. My only complaint was that it was too short...a lot more depth could have been added to characters and scenarios that would have really pushed this over the top. |
I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book. It was definitely exciting and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Connor Mitchel is a NYPD detective whose sister is missing. While he can't officially work the case, he can't help but try and find her. He will stop at nothing to catch who he thinks is responsible. When he finds out that Evelyn Price is meeting the person who he thinks is responsible for his sister's disappearance, he wants to know everything she does about this person. Evelyn knows that people are not always what they seem so when she starts to get bad vibes from the person who a detective asked her about, she begins to think there may be something to the warnings. The more she learns, the more she may be in trouble. Now, it is up to her and Connor to find his sister and keep one step ahead of the killer. If you are in the market for a book with lots of twist and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat, this is the perfect read for you! Nothing is as it seems and just when you think you have it figured out, something else happens that makes your question everything. I honestly could not put it down. Make sure you 1-click your copy today, I promise you will not be disappointed! |
The only reason this story isn't a 5 star is because there are moments where it feels the author lost track or forgot something which had things not connecting more making since. When the story does connect it has the right amount of fear, excitement and nail biting moments to have readers over looking the simplest mistakes. Girl Long Gone is a decent of romance and suspense. Readers can enjoy on a long summer day. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of Danielle M. Haas Girl Long Gone |
This is the first book by this author that I've read and I was hooked from the first page. This story follows the character Connor, after his sister disappears, he meets Evelyn. The characters had instant attraction and chemistry between them. The main plot line of this story is so gripping, you just get sucked into the story till the very last page. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book |
GIRL LONG GONE is a good cat-and-mouse book from newbie author Danielle M. Haas. Connor Mitchell is a police officer in the computer crimes unit, which is always a draw for me. When his sister goes missing after flirting with a mysterious man online, Connor begins to investigate on his own. It doesn’t take long to realize his sister may not have been the first victim, and he catches up with the stalker’s current target, Evelyn Price. There’s a nice balance of suspense and romance, and she’s created a really compelling, robust set of characters. I can’t wait to read more from Haas. *Originally published at Frolic: https://frolic.media/may-romantic-suspense-must-reads/ |
A good romantic suspense, Girl Long Gone is my first read by Danielle M. Haas. There were a few flaws that could have been avoided but not enough to impact the flow of the story. I look forward to reading more by this author |
Cop's sister gets kidnapped, he has an idea who the culprit is and hacks his account on a dating website. He sees a woman with no picture is going to meet this guy at a coffee shop. He runs in to save her and it's love at first sight. Now they play a game of cat and mouse with a killer as they race against time to save his sister. I tried to like this book, I really did, but it did nothing for me suspense wise. You knew who the killer/kidnapper was from the get go. There were no surprises, so it really wasn't a suspenseful read. What I did like, that the heroine had a rough childhood, still timid as an adult, but she came out of the story stronger than ever, so she wasn't your typical damsel in distress. I just wish they would have approached the storyline from a different angle. Thanks NetGalley for another book. This opinions are strictly my own. |
"Some people believed money was the root of all evil, but Gabriel Wilson knew they were wrong. He'd always been evil. Money just made his life more fun." Evelyn Price wants the lucrative deal of web designing for Gabriel Wilson. Little does she know that she is about to get entangled in so much more. Detective Connor Mitchel is out to catch Gabriel Wilson. He is convinced that Gabriel has kidnapped his sister. Connor begins to piece together other cases that may tie to him. With Gabriel's money, it's hard to get far in his suspicions. Connor and Evelyn begin to work together to find out what is going on. Unfortunately, this only makes Gabriel more intent to toy with Evelyn, if for no other reason than to torment Connor. As thing escalate, Connor and Evelyn lean on each other. Together, they will find a way to get Connor's sister back and bring Gabriel down. Great book! Loved the twists and turns. This is my first read by this author and I look forward to reading more. |

Girl Long Gone looked exciting from the blurb, but it fell flat for me. It took me a bit to finish it, I expected alot more suspense, to keep my interest, but after a couple of chapters you can pretty much figure out what was going to happen. For a Dectective Conner seemed to be all over the place, and we can't forget the insta-love aspect between Evelyn and him. The ending seemed abrupt, I would of liked to have to see how Monica is dealing with what happened to her. If you like romantic suspense then this one is for you. I will say they are some parts that were hard to read. I received this from Netgalley. |
Girl Long Gone by Danielle M. Haas is a fast-paced suspense novel with a hint of romance. The main story is about detective Connor, whose sister is missing. He dedicates everything to finding her and everything points to a rich snob Gabriel. The problem is, nobody believes him, so his search is mainly on his own. The search and the game of cat and mice is hastily put into the whole plot. There is a hint of mind games that I like in those kinds of stories. A few little things in the plot are a bit dubious but if you accept them, the story is ok. Everything is developing rapidly, even romance, and the characters do not have time to flourish into their full potential. That is why I missed getting to know them more. We get some of their past and facts, but nothing more. I liked the premise and the story, but it could have a bit more suspense and complication for my taste. I had a feeling everything went predictably smoothly. Overall, this is an ok read and it was absorbing enough to keep reading to the end. I would recommend it to readers who like a bit of crime, suspense, and some romance with HEA. |
HOLY EXCITING HELL! I was intrigued by the description of this story, but I never saw it coming to be honest. Connor Mitchel is a NYPD computer crimes detective, whose sister is missing. He's got a suspect in mind, but he hasn't been able to prove too much yet, plus he can't be on this case officially. This is how he crashes his way into Evelyn Price's life, as she's going to meet the suspect, so he tries to warn her, but she's not having any of it. And because of her not listening to the potentially crazy detective, she ends meeting suspicious person again where she comes across something that definitely shows that Connor isn't crazy. Of course, she's now in the crosshairs of a possible serial killer, so she & Connor are racing against time to find his sister, and keep Evelyn safe as well. This means that there are crazy twists & turns which had so many loud f-bombs dropping out of my mouth since they were all bunched up into a big ball of crazy. In order to see how it all plays out, hit those one click buttons, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! |
