It's the first book I read in this series and won't surely be the last as I liked the characters and the storytelling.
The story is gripping and well written, the characters interesting and the solid mystery kept me guessing.
Can't wait to read the next installment.

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

Thank you to the publisher for the copy of this one - all opinions are my own.

This is one of those slow burn thrillers that could have run the risk of becoming a little boring, if not for the central plot of a missing 5 year old girl who vanishes, quite literally, without a trace from her daycare.

Overall, I really quite enjoyed this story - I loved the twists, the uncertainty of how the case possibly tied in with a cold case from years prior, the untrustworthy characters, the misdirection - all of it tied together comfortably for an entertaining read.

The only piece that fell a tiny bit flat for me, were the somewhat jarring interludes of the personal lives of A.L. and Rena. I can completely appreciate that this is a newer series, and that it is building up the backstories of these characters, however it very much pulled me out of the intensity of the missing child story when suddenly they were off to speak to their partners/children about some unrelated matter. I'm sure in time with the series building this will feel more natural, but for this particular book, I definitely wanted less personal life and more investigation.

However, in the end this one was satisfying, binge-able and a great addition to my summer TBR.

This is book 2 in the series of a police procedural. In this story, there is a 5-year-old who goes missing and the cast of characters who try to solve the mystery and those who investigate or are suspects. This is not my favorite genre normally. I found this book okay but not overwhelming.
Thank you for the early copy for review.

This is the second installment of this series (AJ McKittridge) and while I am not a big fan of detective series mysteries, I really did enjoy both of these in the series. I love both AJ and Rena as characters and this was probably what sold me on this series. I did actually guess the the ending but to be honest I went back and forth between a few people.

That didn't keep me from enjoying the book though. If you like detective series,

I was almost not going to read this book once I found out that the person missing was a 5 year old girl. But, I'm so glad I finished it. I don't want to give away the ending, but the girl ends up ok. I also liked how all the characters had some degree of relation either by blood or friendship as is common in small towns. I would recommend this book for readers wanting a mystery that is not gruesome or disturbing.

I’m glad that I got the chance to read the second book in the A.L. McKittridge series. Again we follow A.L and Rena in their investigations and while I found it less action-packed than the last book it was still a great mystery novel.

I found it to be slow-paced but I enjoyed every minute reading this book. I was never sure about who could be the suspect and the suspense was there until the very end. Which is a great thing because the ending was totally surprising.

The only thing that I found to be pretty confusing was the number of potential suspects. I couldn’t keep up after a certain time anymore and some times I mixed the characters up. However, I really liked this book and I will certainly continue reading about Rena and A.L.

Overall, if you are a fan of thrilling mystery novels that keep your attention until the end then this series is for you.

Emma Whitman was dropped off at her regular daycare at 7:20am or so, but by 6:30pm, she's missing. And no one saw her since her grandmother dropped her off. Was she dropped off? Did she wander off? The grandmother's story and the story of the teacher she dropped her off to don't match, so who's lying?

While I read a lot of books and am always holding one, this was a true case of not wanting to set it down! I read until almost midnight to get this one tied up before I went to sleep. It definitely did not disappoint.

I read the first book in this series (Ten Days Gone) a couple months ago and gave it 3/5 stars. I was so happy to get back with Detectives McKittridge and Morgan. McKittridge is the department's 'old guy' - maybe a bit on the cranky side. Morgan is his female partner who respects what he offers, and still gives him a hard time for his quirks. Together, they can solve any crime.

Overall, I'd give this one 4/5 stars. I'm looking forward to more crime solving brilliance from my new favorite detectives.

No One Saw isn't my favorite book I have read this summer. The plot was ok the cast of characters almost feels endless during the investigation period which makes it hard to keep up with who is and are they important to remember.
The author does her best to keep readers focused on the case and showing the way police investigate and how many people are involved. I realize why they write or record everything that is said I couldn't keep it all straight.
It was hard to connect with the lead characters at times which is when the story fell flat for this reader.
The author does create a interesting mystery but lacks a deeper understanding as to why the characters do what they do.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of Beverly Long No One Saw.

This is a character driven mystery with much intrigue. The protagonist is not the most loveable but this is a page turner. The other characters add to the story, while keeping the reader guessing. Try this one.

No One Saw is the sequel to Ten Days Gone. This one picks up a short time after the events of the first book. It works well as a stand alone book though. I liked this one as much as the first book. I really like this detective duo. There was not as much of a peek into the private lives of the two as there was in the first book. That is something that I missed. Instead it really focused more on the mystery. The solution to the mystery was a surprise. There were a lot of suspects and red herrings, so it was hard to figure out who took Emma. I look forward to reading more mysteries involving these two detectives. I hope one day we find out what A.L stands for.

Five year old Emma is missing from her day care. Detectives A.L. McKittridge and Rena Morgan have been called in to investigate. Time is not their friend at the moment and they must hurry to unravel the mystery and find Emma as quickly as possible.

I am impressed with A.L. and Rena’s deductions. Both are intelligent and take no crap. They navigate all the lies and secrets, which is not easy feat, to uncover the true story!

This story started slow…but then it gradually built into a twisted, wicked tale. I was captivated and just kept trying to guess what actually happened.

Need a good story full of secrets and lies….don’t miss this one!

I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

M/F Mystery

A.L. and Rena are back again. This time, a child has gone missing and nobody seems to know who to believe, who to mistrust, and where the little girl could be.

The police procedure in this book is great. It is methodical and well planned. I really enjoyed reading the clues as they came up in the book. You'll want to start guessing right away, you'll want to skip to the end when the clues just don't add up.

Long wrote a very detailed, well developed mystery that will have you second guessing everyone, wanting to believe nobody, and hoping that the little girl is saved in time. I can't wait for more!

Simply brilliant! This is the second in the A. L. McKittridge series and definitely just as good as the first. We follow A.L. and Rena throughout their investigation, feeling their desperation to find the little girl escalating as the days move on. It is a totally compelling story with both likeable and detestable characters thrown in the mix and an ending that had me on the edge of my seat.

I really loved the first book in this series and so I couldn't wait to dive into the new one and I think this series is on good start to being a new favorite if it keeps this up!

In this one it gets started pretty quick with A.L. just getting home from vacationing with Tess and gets a phone call from his partner Rena. He doesn't even get any rest as there is a missing child from a daycare and they need to act fast.

The child couldn't have just disappeared but the grandmother says she dropped her off with a daycare worker, that daycare worker swears she never seen Emma. So who is lying? What happened to Emma? It's a race against time because she is only five years old and the longer she is missing the less of a chance of bringing her home alive.

The shear number of suspects hand my head spinning so I was never really able to quit figure out who it was that might have taken the little girl. Everyone seemed to be guilty of something from the parents to the coworkers. So I thought that made for a pretty decent mystery.

I am really starting to love the characters in this series. A.L. is very passionate about his job, loves his family and I like the new relationship he has with Tess and how it's going. Rena is equally passionate about her job and I really hope she gets that baby she wants so much some day! I also think her husband is pretty understand when it comes to the problems they have with not being able to have a baby. I know her want and drive to have a baby can sometimes  mess up a relationship. I really like the glimpses of their lives we get along with the two detectives be in the middle of a case.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good crime mystery story. It could probably be read on it's own okay but why would you not want to read book one Ten Days Gone! :)

No One Saw, is the second installment of the A.L. McKittridge detective series. This series is a solid detective mystery series. The main characters' are likable but flawed, the plots are intriguing and complication enough to keep you guessing. They're also easy and quick reads that are the perfect palate cleanser.
In this book, A.L. McKittridge and Rena Morgan are back and are tasked with locating a 5 year that was taken from her daycare. The disappearance of Emma mirrors the disappearance of another child, in a town nearby, leaving the duo wondering if this is the work of a serial kidnapper. It's hard to get to much more into the story without giving away spoilers but just know that there are enough twists and turns in this book to keep you guessing whodunnit.
I thought the writing in this book was a little more advanced and I love the relationship between Morgan and McKittridge. It adds a little humor to an otherwise beak sceneries of a kidnapping. We also get enough back ground and side stories into the detectives lives to build a closeness with the detectives but it's not enough to deter from the main story line; which I enjoy.
Sound mystery and I can't wait to read what they solve next.

NO ONE SAW (A.L. McKittridge Book #2) by Beverly Long is the latest police procedural thriller featuring Det. A.L. McKittridge and his partner Det. Rena Morgan of the Baywood, Wisconsin. This book can be read as a standalone as far as the crime plot, but I found that I do want to go back to read the first book and catch-up with the main character’s relationships.

Det. A.L. McKittridge is just back from a long deserve vacation and immediately called in by his partner, Det. Rena Morgan about a missing 5-year-old child from her daycare. The grandmother who dropped her off and the daycare teacher of her class both are credible, but the child is still missing with no witnesses. As the town searches and the clock is ticking, A.L. and Rena start at the beginning with everyone involved and the one thing they are sure of is someone is lying.

I really enjoyed A.L. and Rena and all the characters in their lives. They are characters that I definitely want to follow into future books. (I am going back to read book #1 to fill in more of their personal lives that I missed.) The disappearance is every parents’ nightmare and I felt the emotions and revelations of secrets during the investigation is well done. I felt the final twist that solves the crime was deux ex machina which lowered the satisfaction for me. I did feel this was an easy to read thriller with memorable characters that I found entertaining.

I will be following A.L. and Rena on future adventures.

Five-year-old Emma Whitman disappears from her daycare without a trace, and A.L. McKittridge and his partner Rena Morgan think someone is lying. In a missing persons case, every second counts. The Whitman family has secrets, and the two detectives have to sift through them to find the girl.

No One Saw is the second book in the A.L. McKittridge series, following Ten Days Gone. The book opens with A.L. returning from vacation in time to get pulled into the investigation, and we hit the ground running right along with him and Rena. There are some pieces of their personal lives, but it's less than the first one. More of the story is focused on digging into the family members, the neighbors, the daycare workers, and then ties to a similar disappearance that had occurred in another city ten years ago. There are a lot of blind alleys that their investigation takes them, much like real-life investigations.

A.L. and Rena are determined investigators, and their dogged ability to keep going and make connections is what helps them find out what happened. It's a tense novel from start to finish, and one that I couldn't put down until I finished it.

No One Saw is a captivating story following two detectives as they search for a missing child that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
A Baywood daycare becomes the center of tragedy when five-year-old Emma disappears. Her grandmother says she dropped her off but her teacher never saw her. It’s up to A.L. McKittridge and Rena Morgan to go through the testimony of those involved. Can they find out who is lying in time to save the child?
I was happy that I hadn’t called it from the beginning. That makes for a fun mystery. SO many of these stores are cliché but this one stands out from the many I have read about child abduction.
Usually, I enjoy character building and seeing the detective’s lives outside, by Beverly Long paces the story so well and gripped you in the experience, that these stories did nothing but take you yet of danger and added nothing to the plot. While I like the two main characters, something about their conversation and relationship seemed off.
The author doe a great job of allowing newbies to understand their place in the series. This could be a standalone I was provided with everything I needed from the first book but at the same time, it would be a great compliment continuing threads from the original.
With great pacing and little wasted space, No One Saw is a thriller that I would recommend to anyone who is interested in cases from the procedural perspective.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the free early copy in exchange for my honest review

NO ONE SAW is the second book in the A.L. McKittridge series, and despite not reading the first book I wasn’t lost at all. That’s what I really enjoy about a lot of crime fiction series, most of them are self-contained and more centered on the mystery/case at hand. Yes, there was probably some character development I didn’t get from book one, but jumping in so early in the series is probably the best case (when you jump in on book 8, then you definitely miss a lot with the characters).

I really enjoyed that this took place in Wisconsin, nice and close to Minnesota! For those that frequent the police procedural genre, this will have that familiar feel when it comes to the structure of the book and how things play out. Which isn’t a bad thing. It had a good pace to it and kept my attention. I was curious to see how it would all end and loved the dynamic between our main characters – A.L. McKittridge and Rena Morgan.

The main reason why I took a little off on the rating was because there were a lot of characters introduced. There were a lot of people to try and keep straight, but that didn’t take away from how well laid out the mystery was from the author. I’m looking forward to the next installment in the series!
