A delightful festive treat! It has everything- Christmas, family gatherings, conflict, humour, romance, animals, all seamlessly bound together in a thoroughly enjoyable story. I just couldn’t put it down. Perfect entertainment with a feel good factor which we all need in these difficult times. I can’t wait to get the paperback version to read it again. Highly recommended if you enjoy Christmas books with a touch of romance and humour. |

There's nothing like a cosy Christmas read to get you feeling festive - and One Family Christmas by Bella Osborne is just the warm, fuzzy Christmas book everyone needs to read this season. It's one of those books that everyone can relate to in one way or another, which makes you feel closer to the (very eclectic mix of) characters! I absolutely loved the main character, Lottie. Entertaining, funny and festive with some romance- what more could you want from a Christmas book!? Looking forward to reading more books by Bella Osborne. 5 stars from me! |
What a delightful read! Funny, romantic and Christmassy, I couldn’t ask for more! I started reading this book for the cover and the title, for me Christmas it’s not the presents but being able to spend quality time with my family, and now that I live far from them it’s more important than before. So, I started reading this book to feel the warm and sweet emotions that I feel when I am surrounded for my loved ones, let me be honest, I wasn’t disappointed at all! There’s family secrets, love, romance and charming pets, I don’t think I will find a better family to spend the Christmas night if I can’t return home this year, I will re-read this book again! I really don’t want to talk much about the plot, this Lottie’s family, that after her Nana passes away a couple of weeks ago, she decides to reunite all their family one last Christmas before their old manor house is sold. “Lucky” for her, all the members of her family will attend the Christmas holidays, making it a holiday to remember forever, for good or bad… She will have to face too the return of an old fame… but is she ready to heal her past wounds and start something new with him? Of course you’ll have to read the book to know all the answers! This book made me remember that every family has their own problems, no one is perfect, but it really doesn’t matter their faults because you love them, they are family, and you’ll be on their side in the moments of need. I really hope that we will see this family once Christmas more, even if it’s just a short story, to know how everything progressed! There were so many different stories in this book that I would love to see them again one more time! This is a book I would recommend to read any time of the year, but specially on Christmas, on a comfy sofa with a hot chocolate, while watching how your family is trying to kill themselves, to remember that you are not alone! |

Loved this romantic drama set in the fictional Cotswold community of Henbourne. The story unfolds over the lead-up to Christmas, starting with Stir-Up Sunday, and leads through to New Year. The Collins family usually celebrate Christmas together at Henbourne Manor, drawn together by Nana Rose, but the dynmic is changing as the family ages and different parners are drawn in. Will there be one last family Christmas this year? And who will be there??? Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this ebook. |

One Family Christmas by Bella Osborne. I was lucky enough again to be able to read this through NetGalley, I’d not read anything by this author before and was drawn to the look of the cover. I seen a lot of really positive reviews about this book, however for me even though there isn’t anything wrong with this book, I just didn’t connect with it. It was just simply ok, there was nothing that stood out for me to say put it on your Xmas reads list. The books about Lottie, who is kind of the main character putting on a family Christmas to honour the memory of her Nan and with the family arriving so do all the secrets and lies. Lottie may be the main character but there is a lot of characters in this book who each have there own biggish part to play in the story and for me at times it got confusing to remember who was who, sometimes I had to stop for a second and think back on what relation that was and as a result I found it hard to connect with the characters. This does get easier as the book goes on but for me it was still a bit of a nagging annoyance that detracted from the story. I get why there was a lot of characters it being a family Christmas and that in itself gave it that feeling of a family Christmas filled with just pure chaos, which invoked memories of Christmas where everyone comes round to your house, you don’t know which way to turn, you worry about certain relatives saying the wrong thing or there’s gong to be that one relative sat in the corner drunk and asleep! You cant wait for them to leave, with a huge sigh of relief when they do but at the same time you miss them. So I suppose even though I wasn’t a great fan of the book it was a great reminder of Christmases with family. This book seemed to take forever for me to read because I just wasn’t invested or connected to the story, parts of it felt warm and cosy and felt like it had potential however those parts were few and far between. A nice book, one a wouldn’t recommend, there are far better Christmas books to read this just isn’t high up in that list. 🎄 |
This was just a nice, and feel good book. Easy to read. I read it in one sitting. Love the Christmas theme. This didn't wow me, but I still like it. 3.5 stars. |
📖 Book Review 📖 One Family Christmas by @bellaosborneauthor Publish date - 15th October 2020 The Christmas books are well and truly in swing, love getting in the Christmas spirit, no matter the time of year. I throughly enjoyed this book and spent most of the time laughing out loud due to the families antics. The characters were hilarious, this story covered some many situations 😂. I loved how they all came together, during these weird times, it’s enjoyable to read something heartwarming, that sees a family coming together. I’m really hoping that there will be a follow up and we get to see more of Henbourne Manor. A nice feel good story for a Sunday afternoon close to Christmas! Lots of laughs and family complications along they way to Lottie’s happily ever after! I did enjoy the book as is an easy read and kind of predictable.. what I can’t get over is the total and utter lack of help she received from her family when it came to meal times - I found that pretty hard to swallow really! With thanks to netgalley for an arc in return for my honest feedback. |
I absolutely loved every minute of reading this fabulous book, it's my favourite Christmas one of the year so far! I instantly fell in love with Lottie & clear love of Star Wars (a girl after my own heart) & the relationship she had with her Grandmother was not dissimilar to how mine was with mine. This was your typical family harbouring secrets, lies & sibling rivalry aplenty, but there was also the element of a family coming together united in their grief but making a concerted effort for each other, bridges being burnt, love being found & kittens being born! The perfect feelgood Christmas novel! |
What a wonderful way to spend Christmas, baking and cooking with your grandmother and reminiscing about Christmases past. Christmas is around the corner and not everyone in the family is into it. Some want to go on sunny vacations, others want the holidays to be over. One family member is willing to celebrate Christmas as a family one last time. How will she convince the family that they showed the memory and last wish of their late grandmother to some and mother to others. How do you let go of the only place you have called home for a long time and the place that made you the most happy? I think that many will enjoy this book during the holiday season. It’s full of family drama, the love of food, desserts and having a big Christmas celebration as a family. Get into the holidays early and indulge in this Christmas delight. Thank you and happy reading! -Rebeca |
Loved it!!!! Lottie's family is extremely dysfunctional and I don't know how they all managed not to kill each other over the Christmas holiday. It was hard not to smile or laugh through the book with all the shenanigans that occur. Loved Duchess and Dave. They are the perfect pair. Lottie didn't waste the mouse jacuzzi. If her family only knew what was in the mulled wine. They probably still would have drank it. I can't believe how none of Lottie's family members even helped her? They expected breakfast, lunch and dinner (and of course snacks in between) but never lifted a finger to help or clean up. Zach's girlfriend, Emily, was the only one who helped Lottie. Lottie and Zach's mom was something else. Nana Rose was the heart of the family and Lottie did a great job following in her footsteps. Loved everything about the book- the characters, story and writing style. Definitely recommend the book. It's the perfect for Christmas. Lottie wants everything to go right for their last Christmas at the manor, so of course so many things go wrong. There's the ring mishap, the poop vs the vacuum cleaner, Lottie's wonderful culinary skills, fires and so much more. The book is full of love, family relationships, forgiveness and friendship. Definitely look forward to reading more books by the author. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Avon Books UK through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. |

After Lottie's grandmother dies, Lottie decides to have one last family Christmas. Her brother Zach along with his daughter and girlfriend (who may or may not be pregnant), her mother and her latest boyfriend, her Uncle Daniel and his wife Nicola and great uncle Bernard all gather together for the Christmas festivities. The Christmas brings with it many dramas, unexpected moments and lots of love and happiness. I enjoyed this story and couldn't believe that someone else in the world has Christmas presents given by the Christmas tree. |
I absolutely adore Bella, her books are always absolutely gorgeous reads and never fail to cheer me up. This book has been no different. I have devoured this book in just one sitting and found this utterly impossible to put down. I cannot say anything negative about this book. This has been the perfect engaging read by a truly wonderful author and I’m definitely ready for Christmas after this book. I have loved every single aspect of this book. This is an easy five star rating which is so highly deserved for this author. This is a definite must read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ |
The book starts with a emotional scene of Lottie making a Christmas Pudding with her beloved Nana, this really resonated with me as this will be my first Christmas without my beloved Nanny, who we lost earlier this year and we used to do baking together when I was child. Lottie does not really get along with her Mother and she wants to sell the big family home, but Nana wanted to have a big family Christmas at Henbourne Manor so Lottie is determined to carry out her one of her last wishes. This is not going to be easy, with widowed brother Zach and his daughter Jessie, girlfriend Emily, Great Uncle Bernard, her Mother Angie, Auntie Nicola and Uncle Daniel. She manages to persuade them all to come, she is just getting the house ready on Christmas Eve, when she receives two unexpected guests who send the house into more chaos. Joe the vet, who Lottie was in love with and moved away to America and a stray dog. This is a gorgeous Christmas book, I loved the setting, the characters, especially Duchess the cat. It made me teary, when Lottie goes through Nana’s cookbook. Lottie is such a lovely character and her loyalty to Nana is wonderful and admirable as is her will to bring the family together. It has humour, tenderness, loss, sadness and warm family Christmas loveliness. |
I adored this book. I love a Christmassy festive read and this definitely fits the bill, it was so heartwarming and beautiful, the characters are so cute, the family and just everyone are adorable, full of humour and heart , this is A recommended festive curl up read Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion |
This is the first book I've read by Bella Osborne and it won't be the last. I absolutely loved it. This book is everything a festive chick lit should be. I fell in love with the family. They each have their own secret and along with the revelations and twists and turns throughout the book (not forgetting The Dutchess and Dave). There are some serious laugh out loud moments , some heartfelt moments and just a pretty accurate description of a family getting together for Christmas and the issues that go with it. Lottie was the best character. I loved her so much. So, grab yourself a glass of mulled wine (minus the mouse) and enjoy is fabulous festive read. |

What a wonderful enchanting British Christmas book, I truly enjoyed, the warmth and panic over a dysfunctional family Christmas. Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read and review this particular book. I mean who doesn’t love a dysfunctional family Christmas in a picturesque English manor house 🤷♀️. The authors novel of how one person (Lottie) tried to have one last perfect Christmas in the manor house after she has lost her beloved Nana. This story shows us every family has secrets and even the best of plans can be thrown out the window at a moments notice. I did however think the story dragged on a bit and it could have ended multiple times before it actually did. All in all a quick read. |
This festive read is brimful of seasonal touches. We see Lottie's family gather for one last family Christmas and there are some genuinely humorous episodes. The mix of characters is spot on with all generations included. Everyone has their own backstory and there are one or two secrets hanging there in the background. Even the animals are great fun and add to the slightly chaotic goings-on in the family. Lottie is at the centre of the story and she is a thoroughly likeable young woman. As the Christmas holiday passed by. I loved how her patience began to wear thin, despite her affection for her family. This is a great feelgood read. It is fun and at the same time, has plenty of poignant moments. Bella Osborne paints a picture of a Christmas celebration which the reader can recognise, filled as it is with human moments, a touch of romance, kindness and, ultimately, a recognition of what makes the characters happy. In short: Fun and games at the family Christmas. Thanks to the author for a copy of the book |

What a brilliant well written novel. Bella Osbourne at her best, her books always please but this one is really great.. Although this is a rom-com there is a lovely story or family secrets and downfalls but things have a habit of working out. I really don't want to give the storyline away but will say everyone should enjoy this book with its Christmas feel good factor. I am giving this 5 stars, wish it could be more. Recommend this to all. Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this AR|C in return for an honest review. |
