Carrie Blake loves being a nanny, but she feels it is time she looks for another job so she can have a life like her other friends. She is taking one last job, looking after two sweet young children of a divorced couple, and then it will be time to start on her new life. How hard can it be to look after two adorable children over Christmas?

Adam Fletcher is successful, handsome and the single father. He has his children over the Christmas holidays, so he needs a nanny for just a few weeks. As long as she takes care of the children and gets his home ready for his family to arrive for the holidays, things should go quite smoothly. When the new nanny keeps insisting, he spend more “quality” time with his children, can he resist the urge to spend more time with Carrie as well?

When Adam’s parents, sister and grandfather arrives, it looks like they also want Adam to be spending more time with his young family. Maybe they can help Carrie convince Adam that Christmas is the time for miracles.

Jenny Hale blends the magic of Christmas into this sweet story of family, friendship, and love. I adored all the characters in the book and how you felt a part of the family that gathers over the holidays. It really sends the message that we should all spend time with our loved ones, especially with the holidays approaching. This was the perfect happily ever after story to curl up with. Thank you so much to the author Jenny Hale, Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! A nice holiday read. Carrie is a nanny who joins a single father and his two children before the Christmas season. She quickly provides her influence with Christmas spirit and decor, and having lots of fun playing. She recognizes that the father, Adam, is more devote to his job than his family. As extended family arrive, that gap is more obvious, and the holiday spirit starts to work its magic.

I’ll say this, it was refreshing to read a nanny/single dad book that wasn’t about heated looks and attraction from page one. Not that there’s anything wrong with those stories, but not set at Christmas. Carrie was just okay for me and Adam was rather one dimensional at first. It was hard believing that she’s been a nanny for a decade and is not unsure of herself when dealing with her charge’s parents. It really shouldn’t make a difference if he’s the first good looking father she’s dealt with...she came off as less than professional and younger than her early 30’s.
My favorite part was the last chapter and a half, plus the epilogue. While we’ll written, I just couldn’t immerse myself into the characters themselves.

I spent my entire gray, rainy day reading this book. Following Carrie through her latest self help read, and her way through the Fletcher family was sheer entertainment. The Christmas spirit and falling in love were perfectly matched up. The depth of characters was endearing, while handling a fertility problem with class and grace. Well done.

If you like slow burn romances this is the book for you!

Carrie Blake has been hired to nanny for Adam Fletcher over the holidays while his ex-wife is out of the country. Carrie loved working with children but when she realized that Adam didn’t know his children because he had put all his energy into his brewery. Adam thought his job was to support his family, but Carrie helped him to realize that family was the most important thing in life.

The whole book has a feeling of a warm comfortable hug when you read how much Adam had shut himself off from his children and family and Carrie helping him to change his ways.

P.S. I love how Jenny Hale uses David and Olivia to change Adam slowly to realize that work wasn’t everything.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a cute and clean story! I loved the way she took care of the kids and was so kind in talking to their dad while making him see reality.

I was provided with an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was cute but just missed the mark for me a little. I liked the idea of the story but Carrie, the main female character, and her obsessing over the dad's, Adam, work schedule was too much for me. It just kept being repeated on nearly every page I left. I did enjoy the characters and the family and the way the story wrapped up at the end. The kids were super cute as was all the Christmasy stuff.

3.5 stars! Thank you to Net Galley and Forever Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC!
This is the story of Carrie and Adam. Carrie takes a temporary job to be the nanny for Adam's 2 kids. When she gets there, she sees that he's such a workaholic, he's missing a lot of joy and connection to his kids. She takes it upon herself to foster those relationships and make this "a Christmas to remember". The Christmas vibes are strong in this one and I loved the atmosphere! I also love single dad romances, so this had a lot going for it with me. However, I had a problem with Carrie and how judgemental she was. She walked onto the scene and was judging how the former nanny was interacting with the kids then quickly turned and started judging the relationship between the dad and his kids. Furthermore, nobody was really resistant to her influence and it all happened rather quickly. That being said, it was still enjoyable and sweet, just not the best!

The opening chapter had me craving candy canes, and I’m pretty sure I ate more than my fair share while reading this.

This kind of reminded me of Beauty & The Beast, in a way. Where Belle always tells the Beast, “you must control your temper” Carrie kept telling Adam, “You must spend time with your kids!” Carrie teaching Adam how to basically let go and channel his love and energy into his kids was nice. Yes, he was her boss, but she knew exactly how to speak to him in a way to get through to him.

All the characters are great. I loved Adam’s family. They were perfect to really drive home why Adam is the way he is. Olivia and David were absolutely adorable, and I loved that we got to see their true innocence and childlike wonder.

Overall, this was such a quaint holiday read. I will be honest and say I never really read Epilogues, but I had to know how their story ended! I enjoyed the ending and I’m glad it went the way it did. I felt if it would have gone the other way, it wouldn’t have been as organic.

Thank you Forever & NetGalley for this gifted copy! This one is out Oct. 13th

A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER is a Christmas romance between Carrie, the new nanny, and Adam, a workaholic single dad.
-
This story wasn’t for me. I have enjoyed stories where the dad is overworked and needs find his way back to normal, but that’s not the case here. I couldn’t enjoy the happy ending, because 95% of this book made me upset and uncomfortable.
-
Adam is a grown man who cries that no one understands him when his family and his nanny bring up valid concerns about his care towards his kids. He thinks because his marriage fell apart, work is the only thing he’s good at. He’s afraid of failing his kids, too, so he focuses on providing for them financially. He’s barely ever home when he gets his kids for the rare occasion, he asks their nanny to buy their Christmas gifts, he doesn’t even want to take 2 minutes away from work to do an arts and craft project with them. The kids are very uneasy and distant when they’re around their father, as is he. It’s uncomfortable.
-
Carrie is their nanny for all of a day before she’s head over heels in love with this man who has no redeeming qualities other than being hot and rich. He smiled at her once and that was all it took. She’s obsessively jealous over a female coworker of Adams from the get-go. The romance just isn’t natural. There was no chemistry.
-
Like I said, I did like the happy ending, but that honestly all I liked about this story. The very end of it.
-
I have loved another of Jenny Hales books, CHRISTMAS AT FIRESIDE CABINS, so I will continue to read her work. This one just wasn’t for me.
-
2 stars. A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER comes out October 13, 2020.

A Christmas to Remember is such a sweet book and the perfect book to get you into the holiday spirit, no matter the time of the year. It was my first book by Jenny Hale, an author who's books I have wanted to read for a while, and I am adding all of her books to my TBR list now!

Carrie has decided to take one last job as a nanny before she explores her career options and gets a holiday job working for the Fletcher family, which consists of single dad Adam and his young twins Olivia and David. Adam is a workaholic who barely spends any time with his children which Carrie can't understand. When Adam's parents and extended family arrive for the holiday, Carrie does everything in her power to get Adam to spend time with his children and the rest of his family to help build and heal broken relationships and create memories.

Did this book make me tear up? Of course it did! I enjoyed all of the characters you meet along the way in this book. I really liked Carrie, she spoke her mind even if she thought it would affect her job because she saw what Adam was lacking with his family and didn't want him to realize years later what he missed out on. And even if sometimes I wish Adam would've realized things sooner, I liked that Hale gave glimpses into him realizing what he was doing to his family was wrong and he was trying to change it. I loved the meaning behind the story, that while success is great, family is the one who will be there for you regardless at the end of the day.

If you are looking for a heartwarming Christmas read - stop here, you've found it! Carrie Blake has been a nanny for the last ten years - she's planning to take this last, temporary position before she makes some changes to her career. The position is with single-dad Adam, to look after his four year old twins. Adam is a workaholic - but not a bad person at all. After his divorce, I think the only thing he felt he could do well was his business. He lost himself in it - and hasn't seen the negative impact its had on his family. With Christmas fast approaching, and Adam's family coming to visit, this are coming to a head. Carrie immediately identifies the problems - and works to make things better.

This is definitely sweet - and reads very much like a really good family story with a side of romance. I loved it - and got super teary as the family comes back together with Carrie's help. Hallmark - this one is a great choice for a future holiday movie!!

I will say the four year old twins were pretty advanced for their age - but they were still adorable!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

This was a really sweet Christmas story about a nanny and the family for whom she helps create a memorable Christmas. Adam, a divorced dad of twins, is a workaholic. His kids don’t have much of a relationship with him. Carrie, their nanny just for the holidays, is like a modern-day Mary Poppins who wants to help Adam see how much joy his children can bring to his life if he could only spend more time with them.
I liked reading about the fun activities she does with the children but I loved when we get a peek into her feelings for Adam, especially as he slowly opens up to her. This book isn’t heavy on the romance. Carrie grows and learns about herself and Adam’s family and his relationship with his children is the center of the story. But there’s a little Christmas romance intertwined as well.
Jenny Hale is a master at details. The decor, the cold weather, the food...as a reader you get to experience the complete Christmas season through her words. It’s a sweet and simple story with the perfect happily ever after. This book will leave you smiling and wishing for more Christmas joy.

This was such a heartwarming Christmas story and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every page. This author knows how to pull the heartstrings with her words and as each character is put into focus, you will fall in love with each one of them.

Carrie takes on a new nanny job for a single dad with twin children and it doesn't take her long to figure out there's a huge problem in Adam's relationship with his daughter and son. His work comes first and he has no time for his family. Carrie takes it upon herself to try to put this family back together again. There were some scenes that had me laughing out loud and others that had me reaching for a tissue.

I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I loved this book. It is one of the best Christmas-themed novels I have read in a while.

Carrie Blake is an aficionado of self-help books at this point in her life. In the decade since obtaining her early childhood degree, she has expressed her love for children by serving as a nanny to several families. There is only one problem: Carrie has sacrificed her personal life…in other words it is nonexistent. With little “down” time, she has lost track of friends, has made no new ones and definitely has not had any opportunity for romance.

As the story begins, Carrie has taken one last temporary position as a nanny for 4 year old twins over the Christmas holidays. She is determined to sort out her future plans for a career that lends itself to a more balanced life style. What she didn’t count on was becoming totally enamored with the children, their father (Adam Fletcher) and the extended family.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story is well-constructed, moves at a good pace and kept me engaged. I particularly liked the characters, which were developed with enough complexity to be interesting without being overly dramatic or romanticized. The Christmas season was woven beautifully and seamlessly into the fabric of the relationship issues concerning work, family, divorce, children and romance. I was also impressed by the way Carrie related to the children; it was a tutorial in sound parenting skills without being preachy or condescending.

I highly recommend the book and look forward to reading more offerings by Jenny Hale.

My thanks to the author, Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for providing the opportunity to review a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Carrie is a cross between Maria von Trapp and Mary Poppins. After being a nanny for ten years, she is ready for something different, her own family and children. The Fletcher children are missing their father, who is so consumed by work, he doesn't see the harm he's Inflicted. He even ignores his entire family to keep working. Carrie tries to teach him his children won't be young forever. It's a delightful holiday story starring a capable nanny who is very wise. But will Adam be receptive to her messages? The children are a bit too too perfect, a tantrum or two would have been a bit more realistic.

Plot: The plot of this was cute! It felt just like a Hallmark movie, which is a big compliment!

Characters: All the characters were wonderful, and I loved how Adam's family played such a big role.

The Cover: It's really pretty! I like it a lot.

Overall: This was the first Christmas book I read this year, and it was a delightful way to begin my Christmas TBR! Turning the yule log on the TV, wrapping a blanket around myself, and reading this made me feel perfectly festive. This was the first book I've read by this author, now I want to go back and read more of her books! If you're looking for a wonderful Christmas book to read this year, I highly recommend this one!
