Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me, I DNF’d after about 30%. I have seen a lot of positive reviews for this book so may give it another go in the future! |
The F list was quite interesting with the subject of self-esteem, fame, and social media. The heroine Emma was born on the wrong side of the track. She won a lottery and is determined to make herself famous through social media influencer. The hero Cash was born into fame and fortune. Emma sort of having something to prove – she is ruthless, stubborn, hard to love. In contrast everyone adores Cash. Would two people who came from such different background make it work? Well, let’s move in together for just a few months in the name of a reality show and see if they happen to fall in love (fake or real 😊). The romance part started toward end of the book and the ending to their journey is awesome. This was a fun, fast paced, lighthearted, Hollywood/enemy-to-lover romance. 3.5 stars |
This book was just what I needed in my life right now. I enjoyed the lightheartedness of The F List. This was a fast paced one sitting read. If your looking fir something light and fast paced this is your book. |
I LOVED EMMA AND CASH STORY!!. Alessandra Torre delivered a fantastic romance- it was fresh, light, swoony and addictive. Elle and Cash were a fun couple. #redcarpetworthy #thedreamteam #truewords #goandreadit #highlyrecommend |
I actually wasn't 100% sure if I'd enjoy this or not. Romance isn't always my thing but I really did enjoy The F List. I kind of half expected these bratty characters that I wasn't really going to like. But that wasn't the case. The F List is about two people who are just trying to live and get out of their current situation. I can guarantee that there are a lot of people out there who are doing the exact same thing! This book really is worth reading if you like a little drama and some romance. |
I liked this a lot! I love stories that are fake dating and have to do with celebs! This was a lot of fun and a quick read! |
The F List Alessandra Torre Published: April 29, 2020 3 Stars "There was a lot I did to get to this point, to get 42 million followers. Some of it I was proud of, most of it I wasn't. There was a group of us, all internet celebrities, and everyone wanted in, which is how six of us ended up living in this mansion, a camera always on, the public always watching. Two months and nine carefully scripted TV episodes that would get us more of the three F’s we were desperately chasing. Fame. Fortune. Followers. I knew my role. I was Emma, the unlikeable one. The dark villain with the devious smile. The package of dynamite that would blow up any chance of peaceful living and harmony. Cash knew his role. He was the good guy. The lovable one. The one that everyone, even the darkest cast member of them all, would fall in love with. They were supposed to just be roles. None of it was supposed to be real. My heart didn't get that memo." (Goodreads) Brutal honesty, y'all - I have never watched any of the scripted reality shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Laguna Beach, The Hills, etc. The only "reality" TV I like is game shows, cooking competitions, and house renos. All of that aside, if you like the reality behind the "reality" shows, this book is for you! READ MORE This screams "Real Life MTV" or one of those similar shows - let's pile a bunch of personalities into one house and script a few situations, then be surprised at the results! *insert a million eyerolls here* Emma is.....not my favorite. I never understood the people who have their entire life revolve around gaining fame and fortune - well, okay, the fortune part would be nice..... but as a very socially anxious person, the fame/followers desire makes me shake at very thought. Too many stranger dangers! The saving grace of this for me was Wesley. He sees the best in everyone, and all I want to do is spend all day every day talking with him because he sees the world in a much more positive light than most. He is the reason I finished the book, and I want more of his own story instead of using him as a plot point. Someone, please, give Wesley his spotlight! This was a solid 3/5 stars for me. I can't say much without spoiling the ride, but if you like books like LA Candy or shows like The Hills, this is for you! |
I thought I had sent this book to my kindle, but when I went to read it, realized I hadn't and the ebook was already archived. I was so disappointed as I really wanted to read this book. I'm rating it a three because I didn't seem fair to rate it anything lower having not actually read it. |
Thank you NetGalley for a complimentary copy. I voluntarily reviewed this book. All opinions expressed are my own. The F List By: Alessandra Torre REVIEW ☆☆☆☆ I wasn't sure if The F List would be something I would like or not, and I was skeptical at first. My doubts were, fortunately, totally unfounded because this story was awesome. From the first page, I was hooked. I loved the conversational style of narration, the wicked humor and the sharp wit of the characters. The premise is fun and kind of like a guilty pleasure. This book is perfect for a good time read! |
This was a super juicy read full of likable characters and a quick moving plot. I loved every minute of it! I loved the celebrity angle, it made the situations much more enjoyable because they felt more high risk for the characters. I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own. |
What a unique concept for a book. This is different than the typical romance book. However the book is well written and Cash and Emma will definitely take you on quite the adventure. |
omg i loved this! It has been a bit since I read Alessandra Torre and I regret that because this book was refreshing. It looked at influencers and how their world isn't just rainbows and butterflies. It showed what it takes to be an influencer, how you have no privacy, how every bad thing that happens isn't a secret. I loved the way this ended as well it was perfect. I think the concept of the reality show really made this book great for me. I cant wait to read another book by this author! |
The F List is a fast paced, lighthearted sweet story and yet very realistic. This book gives a lot of perspective into the modern inlfuencer trend and the increasing the follow count trend. But sadly I could not connect with the storyline and the characters. This book fell flat for me overall. |
This was written in a creative way - with hashtags for chapter titles and commentary from characters at the beginning of each chapter. Great book for a reality TV junkie. I needed a little more chemistry between the two characters for me to rate this one higher. It felt bland for much of the story. |
Very different genre for this author but I did enjoy the storyline & the characters Would recommend |

This was an okay read, well written, but not at all what I expected from reading others by this author. It was more of a cozy romance, without the steamy, erotic parts many crave and I thought would be included in a book by Torres. With that in mind, it was a very quick, fun read, with an intriguing cast of characters involved in a more glitzy lifestyle. I did enjoy reading it, found it to be well written, but want some steam in my romance! If you prefer less steam and more romance, here’s your book! |
This book was an incredibly quick and fun read. It has an entertaining concept and gives us a peek into the world of influencers and fame. It could easily be a "read in one-sitting book"- it flew by for me! We get to see the rise of Emma from nobody to world-wide celebrity and the ambition that got her there. Emma was an intriguing character, as she wasn't particularly likable as a person, but you couldn't help but root for her success. Cash was set up to be a good love interest from the beginning, and he was the perfect Hollywood hottie. I love a good hate to love romance, and I liked their dynamic a lot. I could have used a little more smolder and connection between them to bring it to the next level. It was there, but I wanted more heat in the in-between moments to deepen their relationship. What I loved most about them was that they both seemed like real people with layers and we got to experience their complicated emotions. The plot wasn't super action-packed, but it always featured a glamorous or dramatic situation that kept me hooked. I also appreciated the underlying commentary on fame and what it means to really "make it". I don't know how realistic this book is in terms of the real world of mega-influencers, but it made it seem like a crazy life, and it was sure fun to read about. If you want a quick and entertaining Hollywood romance, then The F List should be on your list! |

The F List by Alessandra Torre was another good read from this author. Although not my favor of hers, it’s was still enjoyable. |
This was nothing like I was expecting. Instead of a steamy romance we got an adventure with a tough of romance. And absolutely no steamy to it. The characters have personalities, jokes, and chemistry. It really is quite the ride. The suspense is well done and doesn't make you feel as though it was just there to move the plot. |
I loved this story so much! It’s really eye opening to the society that we are living in today and especially how much social media influences this generation. The writing style is unique and adds an overall air of mystery. I’ll admit that I felt the story was a little slow to start, but the backstory is a must to see Emma’s rise to fame. Once the already famous Cash Mitchell makes an appearance, the story becomes very interesting. The attraction is palpable once they begin filming and I could not stop reading at this point. The happily ever after was perfect for this celebrity couple. I’ll be thinking about this book for a long time and it has made me see fame in a different light. Well done! |
