There was a solid ending to a series. It's told from the two sisters perspectives so definitely read the first book in this series before this one to understand the plot! I definitely would recommend this to other readers!

Picking up right where the previous book left off. This second installment of a duology finds Zuhra and Inara fighting to bring down Barloc after he became a jakla, stealing Inara's power and leaving her for dead. The stitches in her healing are coming undone, and now she is conscious but powerless, while Zuhra is learning the implications of her newly discovered powers.

An engaging read, I found the shifting love triangle to be an interesting choice, but I was surprised by how much I liked Loukas. And I liked getting to Raidyn better in this book too. A fun fantasy read, but there were parts that I found myself skimming. I would have liked to see a little more of their relationship with their father, but I liked seeing the sisters come together for their family and friends.

Overall, an adventurous read that gave the duology a good ending.

I received a complimentary ecopy of this book. Opinions are my own.

I purchased this book for my high school library. My students have enjoyed it. and it has circulated well.

Unfortunately I never got through the first book, so the sequel has been waiting for me for ages. I decided in the end not to read it, since I haven't got a clue what happened in the first book. It wouldn't be fair.

This book is a sequel that is dependent on the first book. Do not read this if you have not read her first one. The ‘Sisters of Shadow and Light’ ends on a cliffhanger and this one picks up immediately where that one left off. Like the first one is action-packed and paced very fast but not in a way that is detrimental to the overall story. There is just a lot of ground to cover. It is sorta had to tell the sisters apart. Inara goes through a major personality change and becomes a mini Zuhra. I also felt that some of the players got thrown away. I feel like the first book made some plot promise but as Larson wrote this one she realized those would not work and just left them out. There is plenty of Angst and teen drama. Overall it is a quick and fun fix when one needs a fantasy trip

This novel picks up immediately after the events of Sisters of Shadow and Light. This novel is narrated by two sisters. This novel was very slow, and I did not enjoy it as much as I did the first novel. I also found it hard to see which sister was narrating which chapter. Overall, this has a solid ending, but it would have been better if it was told in third person. Still, I recommend this for fans of E. K. Johnson, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Sara Holland!

Warriors Of wing and flame is a Solid ending for the story begun in its preceding book. It builds well on the familial ties that has previously been explored and ties up neatly most if not all plot threads.

This book definitely needs to be read as part of its set and as such I must recommend it mostly to fans of the first book . Looking forward to seeing more from this author .

This was a wonderful ending to this wonderful series. Larson has done so well with this that I can not wait for her next story. The pacing and characters and plot all work together to create a wonderful story that you wont be able to put down.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get into this book despite trying to read it multiple times. I think I am just not in the right space for this type of book at this time. I loved the first one and still intend to read this book eventually.

3 stars

A satisfying conclusion. But I still wasn't able to connect to this story or world.

What I Liked

Well written, faster paced than book 1, unique story and world … I just couldn't find myself caring. Overall I enjoyed this read but I wouldn't read it again.

What I did not like

My lack of connection is really the only complaint that I have and I can't exactly pinpoint why I wasn't able to connect.

In Conclusion
I enjoyed this book more than I enjoyed book 1. It was an interesting world and story. I would recommend to some people.

Warriors of Wing and Flame was a satisfying and sweet conclusion in the Sisters of Shadow and Light duology. This book was such a ride! Plus all the side characters that were introduced in the first book are fleshed out more in the sequel and I absolutely loved getting that from it.

This was a good end to this duology. I loved how the sisters grew as characters when they were separated but still came together just as close as before in the end. While this is not my favorite book or series by the author, I found it enjoyable and I will continue to pick up her stories as they come out.

I did not know this was a sequel so I had to DNF it. Would have liked it more if it was stronger as a standalone.

The doorway between the magical Visempirum and the human world has been reopened. Paladin are once more living in the citadel where Zuhra and Inara grew up completely isolated by the magical hedge that trapped them there. Amidst the brewing conflict between the Paladin and humans looms the threat of Barloc, who has stolen Inara’s immense power and continues to elude the Paladin who are desperately searching for him.

This is the sequel to Sisters of Shadow and Light and it picks up pretty much directly after the events of that first book. I really enjoyed the first book and I really enjoyed this sequel. The world building, while sparse, is good. The characters and events can sometimes be annoying but I still found them compelling. The writing style isn't anything fancy or incredible but it still kept me hooked and wanting to know what happens next.
There was a ship thing that happened halfway through which made zero sense, but I had no idea I needed it. It came out of nowhere but I was immediately like yes over it. Overall I do recommend this series and I will be checking out the authors other two series in the future.

I really enjoyed getting more of Inaras point of view and seeing the world through her eyes as she experiencing new things after years of being stuck in her own mind. Shes more timid than her sister Zuhra but she has this quiet strength that was very inspiring. I didnt understand why Inara felt the need to keep secrets from Zuhra but I still loved their sisterly bond. The sibling relationship was definitely a major highlight of the story for me. Zuhras protectiveness of Inara was really sweet. Shes more outspoken and a risk taker which was a nice contrast to her sister. I liked how they each came into their own.

I dont know if I would have been able to forgive their mother but it was nice seeing them become a loving family again. Both girls have their own romance going on. I was a little disappointed that the calm and warm love Inara had for Halvor was seen as not good enough compared to the passionate and all consumming love Zuhra and Raidyn shared. It was a missed opportunity to showcase how both kinds of love can be fulfilling and worth holding onto. Despite that I did really enjoy Inaras romance. Her love interest was the type to hide a world of hurt behind an indifferent facade and those characters always steal my heart.

After the events of the first book where the antagonist reveals themselves by attacking one of them to steal their powers the plot picks up and keeps its momentum in this sequel. The main characters are determined to stop this new threat before they amass enough power to make them unstoppable and put that power to use by conquering the human kingdom. With it being a duology the danger and intensity ramps up until the epic showdown at the end. It wasnt that repetitive battle after battle type of plot but had a variety of different conflicts mixed in with some great character interactions and romantic tension.

Once again we get to spend some time in both the human world and the Paladin world giving us a wonderful portal fantasy vibe. I loved the Paladins gryphon companions and seeing one of them choose Inara as their rider. The way the antagonist is able to steal other Paladins powers by drinking their blood was disturbing and fascinating all at the same time. However I have a difficult time believing they havent ran into this problem more often since it’s pretty common for people want more and more power. The Paladins magic ranged from healing, fire, and mind control. If you liked the elements of Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor than you might enjoy this duology as well.

I am down for any book that features sister relationships. This is one of my all time favorites. Zuhra is my favorite character and I love her discovery of her new ability. Inara breaks your heart, feeling her pain of loss and almost wishing she had not survived.

A magical conclusion that will leave you wanting to dive back in and read it all over again.

This was a wonderful end to a great duology. I loved how the sisters grew as characters when they were separated but still came together just as close as before in the end. Not gonna lie, I was LIVING for the love stories and they were just perfect. Everything was interesting and gripping and I just wanted to get to the end so I could know how it all ended! I would definitely recommend this to others.

Warriors of Wing and Flame is the sequel to Sisters of Shadow and Light and picks up directly after the events that took place.
This was a fun journey full of twists from start to end.
I really enjoyed following both Inara and Zuhra’s point of views.
I feel like romance definitely took center stage in this addition compared to the first book. (I was enthralled by the angst of it all, but I know it won’t be the case for everyone.)
Overall it was such a good conclusion to the duo-logy.

I received a copy of the book from Netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity.
A fantastic read, set in a mythical land reflecting those past fairytale. The writing is good and the reader feels immersed into the story quickly, even if they haven't read the first book in the series as I haven't. The characters are fascinating and engaging. After reading this book, I can't wait for more.
A great read.

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this sequel as much as I enjoyed the first book. There was a lot of filler and very little plot. Insta-love and romantic angst replaced the compelling fantasy mystery from the first book. The writing was repetitive and trite phrases that should have been caught by the editor weren't (phrases like "in my throat/back of my throat" were used constantly, sometimes within a sentence of each other).
